On my original 3ds, the YouTube app was the only source for YouTube for a while, when my family laptop was restricted to “homework only.” Plus, it wasn’t as mobile. Eventually, as stupid kids do, it broke as well, lol. I had to replace my battery once cuz it just kept swelling. I eventually got a tablet, cuz they didn’t trust me with a phone anymore with how I dropped it on hard tile, and my 3ds finally got to rest…

If anyone asks btw about the internet browser, from what I remembered, it just didn’t play YouTube or any video at all.

It’s also the most comfortable. Most beautiful color Nintendo ever made.

So i just got a used n3dsxl and I'm already having a blast. However the screen has some black defects around the edges. I looked around some older posts and someone said that using a hair drier and some pressure the screen can be mostly restored. Can someone help me understand what caused this?

the fact that you constantly see posts of people asking “is this an ips screen model” make it’s pretty damn obvious the difference in n minimal. they are extremely similar and as someone who fell into the hype and own both i still struggle to tell the difference. Also you can just order an ips screen online lol.

I recently found this 3ds of Facebook market place for like K500 (about 25 dollars) the seller has said that it doesn't work, and I've been wanting to do more device restorations. Would it be worth it to actually fix it. I did find another one that is already modded and works for K1950 (about 98 dollars), should I just try changing that one's housing shell?

Hey Reddit! I tried a dozen times but simply don’t know what’s going on.

Okay, so I purchased one of those full replacement shells for my new 3DS XL in AliExpress because I purchased top and bottom IPS screens and was able to swap everything (Yes, including the painful flex the console has in the hinge) however, with the top case, It's not splicing properly. I mean, when I put it, I hear the “click” but when sliding it to close the top case, it doesn’t go through. I even tried applying force, but nothing.

The strange thing is that the old top case (which was the original one) works flawlessly. But the point of swapping the whole shell it’s because the issue we already are aware of for blue, reds, etc. 3DS with the paint.

I even tried purchasing another top case in AliExpress but I’m having the same result. So I’m completely lost on this one.

Is anyone able to shed a light here? What’s going on? Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to get an original top case? :(

TL;DR: I successfully swapped the screens and internals of my New 3DS XL into a replacement shell from AliExpress, but the new top case won't slide into place properly despite clicking. The original top case still works fine, and a second replacement top case has the exact same issue. Any advice?

After a whole bunch of years laying in the drawer I decided to take it out again, especially since im going to visit Australia this December, so that I can get some entertainment in those very long flights

Looking at the Shell you can tell that this boy had it rough and i ordered a nice zelda themed replacement today. I am also going to order a new frame cuz I dont remember what kid me did to this thing but I feel bad for it. Considering to get the frame from aliexpress cuz even with import charges i couldn't find any cheaper frames. Also the R-Button didn't work correctly but after clicking it a whole bunch of time its pretty much working normally again so I hope it was just some dirt causing the issue

Definitely feeling like a kid again and I'll probably post an update when it got the new frame and shell.

ive always been a big nintendo fan but as i grew up other stuff started taking up a lot of my time and as a result i started using my 3DS a lot less and eventually ended up giving it to one of my nephews who was extremely excited to have it. i still bought the new and shiny switch when it was first released, was really happy with it for the little time i used to get playing with it in my uni days.

idk why but i still missed my 3DS a lot, maybe it was the novelty and uniqueness of it being the last dual screen handheld nintendo ever made with that little 3d gimmick i liked so much, but it just felt different and i always wanted to experience it properly once again, not to mention just have it in my collection purely for the sake of nostalgia. so when nintendo announced the remake of one of my favourite games (OOT), it just felt right to go back and experience it once again the way i did back then when i played it for the first time and i can say it’s been one of my favourite things this year!

so far ive played OOT, started Monster Hunter 4U, plan to play Omega Ruby, Mario 3d land, Animal Crossing New Leaf, Skipping tomodachi life since i already play it on my Switch 2, and plan to play other titles that i missed out on.

i know i might be glazing 3DS a lot atp but i just wanted to appreciate for the great handheld experience that it was and still is, i love the MODS and how they’ve kept it alive, its all so nice to see :’)

as the title might suggest, i want to change my 3d's language to japanese. im currently learning japanese and want to use animal crossing new leaf to accelerate my learning. however, you can't change an english language 3d into japanese due to regional restrictions. so far, i haven't found any information on how to do this, so i'm asking you all for help :/

i couldnt find a way to swap the looking from the c-stick to ABXY movement from ABXY to c-stick... how can i alter it via <text>??

my new 3ds xl has never had the battery replaced, so i’m thinking it might have to do with that, but i’m not sure.

my 3ds has no light, and does not show any indication of charging. the only time i saw a light was last night when it flashed red and showed an error screen (arm9 prefetch abort svcBreak) and i’m not able to take any of the steps to fix this possible error because my 3ds won’t turn on, lol.

the battery doesn’t seem swollen or damaged or anything, so i’m not sure if i should replace it or not (or even how to replace it).

someone recommended using a multimeter to test if it’s working but i don’t really feel like spending $15 just to use it one time and i don’t really know where to even go from there.

My New 3DS XL has been getting this black screen a lot and normally booting into safe mode would fix it. But now that doesn't work. I've tried removing the SD card and battery even detached the wifi card and plug it back in and still nothing. It worked a few hours ago when I was play Luigi's Mansion 2.

I’ve had this galaxy edition I’ve barely touched cause afraid of messing up the paint with my sweaty gross hands so been trying to limit my play and touching till I can find a good case. Literally as long as it fits and don’t scratch the paint I’ll buy it lol. Reviews on Amazon are always mixed so never know what’s reputable or not.

Two summers ago, after finishing Chapters 3 and 4 of DELTARUNE, I was thinking:

This game is so cool! But wouldn't it be even cooler, groovier, to play it on Nintendo 3DS? Simple 2D graphics, already plays fine with controllers... How would the fights work with the stylus? How would the Chapter 4 towers feel with the console's 3D? How very, very interesting...

Unfortunately, at that time, there was no such thing as a 3DS port of DELTARUNE. Therefore, if I wanted it to happen, the only solution was to make one myself.

So, I started working on it, not sure if it was feasible, unsure if the console had enough capabilities, and wondering if the game's logic itself could be adapted.

After a few weeks of work, the main menu finally launched successfully for the first time, and that was what convinced me that this might actually work.

Now, a year later, with thousands of flowers blocking our way overcome, some friends have joined me in this crazy adventure, and together, we have finally managed to make that hope, that dream, come true!

DELTARUNE (Main Menu and Chapter 1 only) runs fine on the “NEW” editions of the console, and runs with occasional, acceptable FPS drops on the original editions.

What about the other chapters? Well... those are flowers to bloom in the future. We have not started working on them yet, as our priority has been to stabilize and optimize Chapter 1 and its game engine as much as reasonably possible.

We are proud to finally be able to show you our native port project. This whole adventure has been, and still is, a fun experience.
