Technical Question changing english 3ds to japanese

as the title might suggest, i want to change my 3d's language to japanese. im currently learning japanese and want to use animal crossing new leaf to accelerate my learning. however, you can't change an english language 3d into japanese due to regional restrictions. so far, i haven't found any information on how to do this, so i'm asking you all for help :/

You can do the same region swap thing, but you generally don't need to. Game language is independent of console language. Wipe your save, start a new file, and choose Japanese when you start the game. At least most games are this way on 3DS.

OP as a Japanese learner as well. You don't really have to swap the 3DS to Japanese, you can home brew it and load the ROMs. I have a JP New LL and what I do. You can also get an app to force the localization of the game if it doesn't load.

Also for pokemon or AC you pick the language at save creation iirc Just start a new save.

Animal Crossing on switch is based on console language

You'll have to download most of the games in Japanese to play them that way. Only games like Pokemon were region free.
