Do Not Feed The Trolls ''Toxic Anti PvPers'' Not welcome.

5.0k Upvotes

Hello.

I am from the Mod team on this sub.

Pleased to meet you.

Recently I have seen a few people rightfully upset at a few bad actors on this sub who have been using the fact they became victims in the game to resort to being toxic to people on this sub.

Basically - they lose the game in any way and decide it is fine to insult people who are playing the game in a legit way instead of doing what they want, whether that's talking and making peace or refusing to shoot each other no matter what. From my understanding this game allows you to make a choice, to try trust a stranger or to gun them down to be safe.

If a person decides they will ALWAYS gun everyone down no matter what or try be a ''Rat'' player and backstab at every opportunity that does not mean you can come on this sub and insult them, suggest they are mentally impaired or mentally unwell or be toxic to them for any reason.

If you say ''All x players are sociopath psychos with no life and life in their mothers basement and have never had the touch of anyone of their preferred sex'' for example or anywhere more or in-between then you will be banned from our sub.

You are allowed to have an opinion that such players morals in game are not good or they are ''Villain players'' or what not, that is fine for that is what they are but any time an outside insult is going to be used on people over gameplay you are getting the hammar of doom.

From the community, I understand that most people who like PVP are not usually the type of people to click report on anything, due to your ''thick skin'' you really do not give a damn if some redditor is trying to insult you or maybe you will just retort back.
I ask you please do not, if you insult back you could also be moderated due to the nature of reddit and if you do not report the instigator we will not be able to correctly moderate and fix this community. As a mod team we are getting thousands of posts (posts not comments) per day and it is literally impossible to view them all, we rely mainly on the report feature and reddits AI.

Anyway thank you for your attention in this matter.

Discussion Alternate PvE Proposal: Temporary Ceasefire map condition (see caption for details and reasoning)

Post image
3.4k Upvotes

THE IDEA

Create a Temporary Ceasefire major map condition. Put it in the rotation with other major map events. Keep the loot super limited: no items beyond blue (rare) quality. Increase the arc presence. You can do your quests and hunt arc, but you can't gain a big power advantage.

THE REASONING

Why this, instead of an always-available PvE mode? Low-risk raiding should be a reprieve; a small treat. Not the standard.

If you remove most of the risk, you remove most of the reward. The danger is the whole point in a game like this.

Without danger, we lose lose the serendipity. You don't need to make friends or find out who people are and what they're up to. You don't have the little moments like accidentally shooting someone and then trying to make it up to them. Or the dilemma of deciding whether to defib a stranger who could be an adversary.

PvE also removes a lot of hard and soft gaming skills. I don't have to mind my aim in order to stay friendly. I don't have to say "Hey I'm friendly, what's up dude." There's no more flashlight friend-or-foe indicator. The sound of a powerful weapon no longer gets my hackles up. I don't need to listen for footsteps.

Lastly, open PvE could wreck the economy. You shouldn't be able to free-farm materials.

Adaptive matchmaking works. If you've earned your way deep into the friendly ranks, you can play all evening without getting shot at. This should suffice for most dads and uncles. But the risk is always there in the back of your mind.

And for those that need a boost now and then, we have a rotating Temporary Ceasefire map condition.

Discussion The ABMM was the social contract

You didn’t shoot that raider because you didn’t want the lobby to turn on you or your lobbies to become PvP. You didn’t jump on the Vaporizer loot because you didn’t want to get shot. You didn’t force your way into the keyroom with the door blocker and barricade on it because you didn’t want to get shot.

Now play the game on easy mode! Steal loot from other raiders with zero consequence! Don’t even bring a gun if you don’t want to! Actually, let’s go ahead and bring lure grenades and snitch scanners to get them destroyed by arc while you hold your photoelectric cloak!

Seriously, the magic of the game is that people were choosing to be friendly, not that they were forced to. Human choice is what made Arc Raiders special.

Discussion Hot Take: PvE should be a new, separate character

Post image
2.0k Upvotes

Yes, it should be a separate character, not a toggle.

Just like Tarkov or Path of Exile Solo Self Found. Two modes, two separate stashes and progression.

My modest suggestion:

  • Raider Mode: ABM, tension, fight or help other players,
  • Survival Mode: Co-op, fight ARC together with other Survival only characters (and give them all the map conditions).

Right now, PvP players can jump into PvE just to grief people and farm resources. Separate progression fixes both problems.

EDIT: With the addition of a mode like this, you should be able to migrate your current character or create a new one, no need to wipe.

Discussion Im seeing loads of griefers in pve

I suppose they’re children. Since I play solo it wasn’t a problem to me except for the loot being stolen before I won the fight. It needs to be balanced somehow.

Discussion PvE mode is full of griefers like these 🚩

I am a competitive PvP enjoyer, was trying out new PvE mode and every 3/5 games the lobbies are full of players like these. If you don’t understand what I mean, basically these all raiders are just waiting to loot the body of this dude who got knocked fighting queen, and I refuse to believe that not even a single person had a defib specially when they are here for the queen.
And I was more shocked to realise this was not Asia or Oceania or any other server but North America which I used to think contains most decent players.

Don’t tell me that “you deserve these lobbies because you are a PvP player” because this mode doesn’t has ABMM. And I do like the ABMM because it puts me against the same competitive players as me which is the main goal for me to do PvP.

Yesterday I got knocked fighting queen and was crawling to the hatch and a raider brought a vaporizor to kill me.

I was excited for this mode so that I could chill and enjoy squad game with my non-competitive friends. But I guess I will just play this mode with caution and mainly use it do quests and farm resources. Otherwise I will just continue to enjoy my ABMM PvP lobbies. Peace ✌🏻

Btw what do you think about this mode and how does it affects your usual gameplay ?

like or dislike the pve toggle, I dont give a fuck. But if someone wants to play with friends and wants a carebear experience, that is impossible without the toggle.

I truly don't care what your arguments for or against this toggle are but that is something that should be considered.

Discussion PvE mode is a week-long trial with a large portion of the player-base actively trying to sabotage it: Your negative experiences will not be the norm.

Why do people think the current bad-experiences are indicative of a general purpose addition to the game?

And why don't people understand this is ideal for chill-trios, who are the most neglected player-group of the whole game?

Yes I was fully aware of the potential rats
Yes I had everything safe pocketed.
But honestly these guys waited 30 minutes for an Arpeggio III and Stitcher III
(survivor kit would be the only bonus)
You’d be quicker to get up there and do it yourself 🤦‍♂️

Discussion Splitting up the PVE and PVP player base has actually changed how the PVPVE experience runs

Hi All,

This isn't a discussion about which mode is better or which one you prefer, but rather a discussion about how the original game functioned and how that has now changed with the introduction of the toggle.

The changes I've experienced could be region-specific and may not apply to everyone here. I play in OCE, where we already have a low player base, and the toggle has now sadly doubled our queue times. :(

I'm a PvPvE player, and since the introduction of the toggle, the feel of the game has completely changed in my region. PvPvE is essentially dead.

Everyone who is interested in looting and killing ARC has moved to PvE (which is completely fine), but everyone in the PvP servers now seems to ONLY PvP. There is zero looting and zero ARC killing. Everyone just runs towards the first gunshot they hear, and it turns into a massive deathmatch in one area of the map.

You can now run around the entire map looting without experiencing any PvP because everyone has rushed towards the first bit of noise they heard and started fighting. They're there purely for the PvP, and this has completely killed the suspense of potentially running into another player at any moment. That unpredictability was one of the things that made the original PvPvE experience so enjoyable.

The toggle has also massively affected OCE queue times due to our already low player base. When you queue for PvP servers, you're now being matched with solo, duo and trio players regardless of your party size. PvP simply isn't enjoyable when you're constantly coming across 2v3 or 1v3 situations.

All I seem to see are debates about which player base is better, PvE or PvP, but everyone seems to have forgotten that PvPvE is also a playstyle. It's a playstyle that now feels completely dead in my region, despite being the original concept of the game.

I'm not against PvE or PvP players having their preferred way to play. My concern is that by separating the two, we've unintentionally lost the experience that originally made the game so unique. The balance between looting, fighting ARC, and never knowing whether another player was friendly or hostile was what made PvPvE so exciting.

Discussion Absolutely loving the PvE toggle

Sincerely, thanks to this mode I've been able to get my friends on the game that otherwise would've never joined in on Arc Raiders. They've been addicted ever since!! I hope this becomes a mainstay, it does still need some tweaking though..

Hint: If on PC, turn off cross-play. Players are less talkative, but I noticed there was a lot more loot to go around ;3

Discussion I LOVE the PVE mode

I mostly play Solo and I've had nothing but fun in the new mode.

Sure, there is the occasional griefer (bullrush) but honestly most people have been fine. Bullrush will likely get patched to be not effective in PVE anyways or at least a hard cooldown applied, maybe 30 seconds.

I have not even found loot goblins to be THAT much of a problem especially passed 15 mins, most of them are full and have extracted, and often a lot of the lockers and drawers are left untouched too.

I've had a blast using my fully kitted hullcracker, Jupiter etc without having to worry about some rat hiding in a corner with a cheap stitcher.

If you like PVE, dont listen to the salty people here, just enjoy, play and show embark there is a real demand for a permanent PVE implementation in some form.

Discussion Killed by PLAYERS in a PvE Matriarch lobby

3.0k Upvotes

I just got killed by players in a PVE lobby after killing the queen… multiple people all went down. And yes I checked it was a PvE lobby a million times over before and after, and my teammate who’s new, when fighting even shot at a team we were killing the queen with (misclick) and nothing happened, earlier in the game.

After killing the queen right, I see a raider flair and peaked interest to run over see if I could help or loot a dead body, I see a couple guys, thought nothing of it. Because why would I?
Then they shot me and downed me and my team mate? What the actual …

Am I missing something specialised in the update? For matriarch lobby or did I come across cheaters or a bugged lobby? :/

I had a fully kitted load out and 2 reactors too. Absolutely bummed about this “bug” or whatever it is.

As you can tell from the squads reaction, we knew we were in a PVE lobby, but this happened at the end.
At this point I’m running to the guy downed in front to help.

****UPDATE\\**

Couldn’t find their name on the game so I sent a fr which I will cancel\* and then clicked their profile through requests in Arc.
Their steam has some questionable accusations too. All complaints on their profile 59.
Reported both in game and steam incase. Though we cannot guarantee cheating, as it could be a game UI bug as a lot of people seem to be experiencing this player behaviour in PvE too. Wanted to make this clear too as I don’t want a “witch hunt” on the specific player as such. The image in comments is to show that player damage and was 100% downed by a player, but it’s too fast to see the screen in the video at the end.

Also wanted to say again,
We had triple checked it was PVE we were going into, due to the little good I kit had left as a returning player. I.e auguments etc so we triple checked as I didn’t want to lose it to a PVPVE lobby as I am absolutely dog at player gun fights sometimes, especially as a returning player too.

AND as mentioned above, my teammate who is new to the game, shot some of the other team around us who were helping kill the queen in crossfire whilst shooting the queen. AT the start of the lobby.
This done NO damage and caused no issues. (I’m pretty certain that very team who helped kill the queen, were downed by the same people, the guy on the floor in the clip)
We could see the green shield splashes instead of anything breaking.
This is a genuine PVE selected lobby.

Current suspicion in comments amongst the community is UI Bug or Cheaters.
I’d also like to make it clear I’m aware cheating is an issue no matter what game you play. I just wanted to spread awareness of this right now as a returning player who was looking forward to PvE and not being slimed by a player, when I was trying to have a fun boss fight and teach a new player.
And also for debate or other peoples experiences/ if they’ve had similar in the NEW PVE mode

I do not have any other footage to show prior to starting the game in the menu or before being killed because I had no reason to clip anything. My pre recording clips, clip to 30seconds on medal. I was not streaming on twitch at the time unfortunately either. It’s a case of taking my word for it which i understand some people won’t want to and would rather see it for their own eyes. And that’s valid to feel that way too!

Thanks!!

Discussion I finally got to play friendly trios with my sons!

They are noobs so it sucked before playing and getting attacked by players randomly before they get the basics down.

Today we played a few rounds together. They started to really get the hang of things being able to focus on arc. Im also much more experienced than last time we tried and I brought them tons of gear. Anvil 4's, shield chargers, stacks of herbal bandages, grappling hooks, cloaks, and defibs.

What i would love to see is being able to set the difficulty like Helldivers. By the end it felt to easy just taking out all the arc together. For playing duos or trios pve i would love to turn the difficulty up increasing the amount of arc etc.
