I think you need to work on your reading comprehension. Those aren't a list of reasons they're a series of steps needed to activate this bug as well as how to avoid it
Hahaha. I had something like this happen in buried city hospital. Was helping my friend (duos) who picked up the game specifically because of the pve test, and was walking them through good places to loot, and we walked toward the red lockers room next to the key room. I stepped through and this solo raider was standing at their key room and emptied an entire mag into me. I just stood there staring, not reacting before asking "you good fam?" in prox.
They eventually stopped and was like "wait...this is pve! Omg you scared the shit out of me showing up like that. I was just in normal matches before this one."
We laughed it off. Told them they didn't need to worry about their key room either, as I respected the etiquette about it. And we just carried on our separate ways. Later on saw them eat dirt trying to use a snap hook climbing down and asked if they were good and if they needed heals.
I'm still having good and funny interactions in pve lobbies.
Rofl. Was playing PvE with a friend that only PvPs normally last night. He damn near shat himself at least 3 times as we ran into other raiders unexpectedly and he got adrenaline spikes before remembering we were in PvE.
There’s currently a bug where if you select a map, back out, switch the PvE setting, and go back into the same map, it uses your original PvE setting.
That’s probably why he thought he was in PvPvE. It happened to me last night. Devs have confirmed this. (I saw a screenshot of a dev comment in another thread.)
It wasn't a cheat it is a bug. Embark has acknowledged it and has said how to avoid it for now. Just don't switch back and forth with the toggle without changing a destination after.
Those posts are related to the bug caused when selecting the mode on the map screen putting you into a PvEvP map despite you selecting PvE, not cheats.
The thing is, the rats are all in pve lobbies now cause in real pvp lobbies none of these rats stands a chance. I was sceptical at first but maybe that's the way we get them rats to quit the game
In this case, 99% of people will generally understand that a rat is someone you don't want to play with, either because they grief, steal your shit or shoot on sight.
We both know it doesn't refer to people who are friendly, cooperative and who share loot eagerly.

Conspiracy theory incoming... Some non-PvE players are going to join the PvE mode and try to make it as unpleasant as possible for those enjoying it to try ensure it doesn't get implemented.
even if 15% of pvp population joins pve lobby it will increase population of experimental mode playerbase above 50% means for the devs that pve is worth to implement. inconveniences are few fixes away but by playing this mode for grief or just stealing loot they contribute to the cause.
There is no way PVE isn't permanently being implemented. They took the time to make the feature work and the player count is the highest it's been since March. And they are definitely getting the highest microtransaction revenue ever right now.
this is useless and obviousl anecdoal but I go tlike 5 people who'll get Arc Raiders if it had a PVE only mode - not a toggle. Like its own seprate progression.
They use AI to ban people. Every time I've been banned it was because I was talking about something but not promoting it or anything. You should have received a message from them about the ban, just appeal it and it'll most likely be reversed.
They've been doing that and they're also making posts acting like they're a pve player having a realization they don't want the mode anymore. Look at their post history and you'll find old posts of their 'pvpve game' argument.
I mean just look at all the posts on here that basically is from PvP players trying to explain why the PvE mode is bad. And all they do is just proving that they dont get it, because they are PvP players.
Not a conspiracy theory just facts. A lot of the same winners you see on here about how pve is the devil incarnate are then joining pve lobbies to grief or make up lies in this sub about how bad pve is.
Unironically ending up giving it more success as it ultimately is higher player numbers in that mode. But such children/ man children don't have the capacity to think two steps ahead.
One tried last night. Begged me to swap my anvil with his Bettina and when I said no he followed me around calling me a pedophile until he got blown up by a comet. I watched him die with a defib in my hand.
So many mad pvp'ers yesterday. After the 2nd lobby of random slurs I filled my bag with lures and when found followed them around just to annoy them for 20min.
Also have bull rush so I made sure to interrupt every action.
For the record I do enjoy pvp. I just thought these guys were miserable.
If people are going out of their way to purposely ruin a lobby/game for someone else, I think it's only fair they get the same treatment back you know?

Is bull rush worth it outside of trolling? I recently got back on and wasn't sure what capstones were worth it, kinda just ended up on a generalist build.
Worth it now I guess since people are blocking doors and shit. Honestly they should remove player collision in pve like in other pve games' modes, it would fix that problem.
I think its more of a gimmick. Doing it in pvp is for sure getting you shot. In pve its just kind of funny, but i did see people blocking doors so it definitely helps there.
I love this. The cycle continues. Maybe half the "mad pvpers" OP was talking about were other triggered PvEers lashing out at getting messed with. Just a race to the bottom lol
i did the same and not because im a griefer (started yesterday) but because it doesnt tell me if im in a pve lobby. and the last time i enabled pve and a guy killed me so yeah..
Ok! I thought I was going crazy and I’m being gaslit a bit. We loaded into a PvE lobby and got killed by players in the back. Maybe they have hackers already
Same thing happened to me! People just shooting me randomly in PVE I'm like what? Then he says "if this was pvp you'd be dead" lmao people never cease to amaze me
I’m new and just played my first game ever and had a guy follow me calling me the n word on repeat. He kept shooting bots to aggro them to us then I just left.
Have 1 hour left on my refund window, I’m like 60% the way to just refunding and writing the game off for good.
Anyone have any good communities to link up with other new or casual players? Can I even party up in PvE or is this the standard experience?
I hope you don’t refund cause that is not representative of what the vast majority of games experiences are like. Also u can refund up to 4 hours of game time, plenty of people have done it including myself so feel free to play past the 2 hour “limit” steam has to get a better idea. If you get into carebear lobbies you’ll meet some really nice people. I’ve had people sit near a train playing a guitar then give me tons of legendary items for no reason when I approach them, had people walk with me all the way to extract while I was crawling because they didn’t have a defib and were giving me bandages to keep me alive until we extracted.
This would explain the bug with the queuing. Someone tried to shoot me yesterday (doing trials in PvE) multiple times while I was standing for the waiting for the storm to finish. I turned around and looked at him wondering what he was trying to do.
This actually happened to my brother-in-law and I yesterday. We went in with the intention to fight raiders and started shooting people only to realize we weren't doing any damage and just surrendered to switch modes. I could've sworn PVE was off, but, it wasnt.
i thought i did this too cs no one shot back at me but it was off i lit cliped and checked it was off…
and this guy took so many hits
also i think because before readying uo you have to hold triangle i found myself doing that on the map screen for some reason but i checked every time and it was never activated js no pvp going on i guess
To try and give a little leeway to them, there’s an issue atm where people who have PvE not selected are still getting put into PvE lobbies. So they even might have been a bit aggressive towards you because they thought you were hacking.
In my experience, my first "pve" match I was actually put in the pvp queue, some sort of bug put me in the pvpve queue. So I was minding my own business with no weapons out and I got shot by a player. so now i have the urge to shoot players to double check whether I'm in an actual pve game.
I mean i pop shot raiders for fun in PVE but only 1-2 shot. I'm not going to empty a clip into someone in PVE. let alone try and melee them while they got arc on them.
There is a bug, if you queue up, stop, select or unselect pve mode, queue up again without a map change you are still in whatever mode you first selected.
this happened to me last night, the toggle to switch to PvE is easy to accidentally hit on controller (Y) when loading in for a raid. I spent 1-2 hours thinking other groups were god-mode hackers until I realised I had accidentally switched on PvE.
