Hobby Shokkjump Dragsta: Il Tempo Gigante | C&C wanted

Thumbnail gallery
25 Upvotes

Just finished a Shokkjump Dragsta, my first vehicle and largest mini I have painted so far. For any Scandinavians out there the car's colour scheme is heavily inspired by Il Tempo Gigante from the Flaklypa series, as well as an attempt to get the orks looking similar-ish to the characters. I'm really trying to improve with my painting so any C&C is welcome, I would love feedback. I attempted some osl aswell for the first time so any advice on that would be really nice 😁

Hello.

I haven't been keeping up with try hobby at all.

I made a start when I was in uni and after I left my uni house I gave up.

I've now been asked for what I want for Christmas and I think it might be a good chance to get back into it.

What sets would people recommend?

Maybe another starter set or a small build?

I like 4000 and Age of Sigmar stuff but am open to anything

I have attached some pictures of my previous small pieces just so you can see what sort of stuff I was doing before

Thank you 🥰

Art Amabilia, art by me

COMMISSION. Canoness Preceptor Amabilia, Virtue of Prudence and the youngest Canoness Preceptor of the Order of Kindled Abhorrence.

Amabilia bears the Servo Skull of Sister Aemilia, an auspex-laden skull that once belonged to the closest companion of the founding Saint of the Order. Amabilia, even without the skull, is a particularly keen mathematician, able to calculate firing solutions on a level that approaches the Magi of the Mechanicus.

Discussion Does anyone else feel a little guilty at painting something "good enough"?

Over the course of this year, I've pushed myself to paint well, but not to get bogged down in detail too much. I feel the urge towards perfectionism, but also lack the focus, patience and discipline to actually do it. I completed the first 2000 points army I've had since I was a kid but I'm keenly aware I could have done better, but likely wouldn't be halfway there by now.

Basically I'm just asking how folk feel about the spectrum between "blocked colours in" and "absolute best I can do".

I made my childhood friend play SM2 and he loved the game. He was reading the lore for the past 5 or 6 months and custom made these for us as a BD gift for me. I love lamenters and he loves Salamanders.

Hobby How do you tackle your pile of shame?

I’ve been playing Warhammer for over a year now, and one of my absolute favourite parts of the hobby is painting miniatures. However, I’ve been struggling to find the time and energy to actually sit down and paint. I wake up at 6:00 AM, get home around 6:00 PM, and by that point, I still have work to finish, dinner to be cooked, and other things to take care of. By the time everything is done, I’m usually completely exhausted.

Even when I do have some free time and feel like painting, the thought of having to take out all my paints, brushes, models, and other supplies, set everything up, and then clean it all away afterwards feels like a huge barrier. It takes me out of whatever workflow I’m already in, and sometimes the effort of getting everything ready is enough to put me off painting entirely.

It’s frustrating because painting is something I genuinely enjoy and want to spend more time doing, but it feels like my schedule and energy levels are constantly working against me. I don’t want to lose touch with a hobby I’m passionate about just because I can’t find a convenient way to fit it into my daily life. I’d love to find a way to make painting easier to pick up whenever I have even a little bit of free time, without it feeling like another task on an already exhausting day.

Joke Tech Priest Fixes Printer

I've been working on improving my 3D video rendering pipeline for personal pet project. I've asked a couple of friends for some topics, and Warhammer 40k lore came up. So I thought, hey why not? Let's have some fun with it. One prompt, one take, one result: a tech priest fixing printer.

The premise of the reel pipeline is for business applications, but for the fun aspect of it, I thought it's more fitting here.

Do you guys have any fun topics you'd want to see rendered in this style?
