Self-Promotion (Developer) Sorry! Have a free DLC!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Upvotes

A huge thank you to everyone who tried Infinity during launch!

Unfortunately, a major issue slipped through the initial release build which caused crashes for some players. The problem has now been identified and fixed, and I really appreciate everyone who took the time to report issues and be patient while I worked on a solution.

As a small thank you to the community, I'm giving away one DLC of your choice to anyone who comments during the next 48 hours.

To see the available DLCs:

  1. Open Infinity
  2. Go to the DLCs tab in the menu
  3. Comment below with the DLC you'd like *
  4. I'll send a redemption code via DM

* "Complete Universe" won't be available as this is a pack.

For anyone who missed my previous post, Infinity is a VR space exploration experience for Meta Quest where you can travel across the Solar System and beyond, exploring planets, moons, stars, and galaxies.

Thanks again for all the support, feedback, bug reports, and ideas. They genuinely help shape the future of the project.

What's the next destination you'd most like to visit in Infinity?

I'm one of the developers of Abduct & Destroy VR. Here's a clip showing how you aim using your head, with me on camera so you can see how the movements match up.

I'm still fine-tuning the aiming angles and limits, but it's feeling pretty good so far. What do you think?

Discussion Would GTA6 VR move the VR market? (Official and fully featured.)

• Upvotes

So, I was just listening to a podcast about how GTA was the biggest selling non-mobile game by an order of magnitude, and how they go to absurd lengths to put little details into the game just for realism's sake.

Let's pretend we had an alternate universe where the grandchild of the CEO or whatever caught VR fever and pestered them nonstop until they agreed to fund a fully featured VR mode for this game. (Flatscreen mode is still there as well, a single purchase gets you both.)

  • PSVR2 support on PS5 and PS5 Pro. When the PC version comes later, full PCVR support. Including whatever online stuff they end up making.

  • Full motion controls, IK body, etc (think fully modded SkyrimVR.) Eye tracking for avatars, full body tracking on PCVR.

  • Full range of comfort features.

  • Somehow they magically optimise it to run decently in VR.

  • Lots of marketing about how you can finally be truly inside the world of GTA, etc.

So, with an excellent VR implementation, one of the biggest games in the world, and plenty of marketing, do you think this would have moved the needle in the VR market at all? Or would it be one of the biggest flops in gaming history? (The VR mode. The flatscreen game is unlikely to flop...)

Purchase Advice - Headset Headset recommendations

I want to get into vr again I bought a quest 1 when it came out but now I have a pc so I was wondering what would be a worthwhile headset to buy. I have a budget of around $250. I’ve seen a full setup for the cosmos elite for just under $200 is that worth getting? Thanks.

Self-Promotion (Developer) Lord & Master - Apashe | Free Song Update | Synth Riders VR Meta Quest + PSVR2 + SteamVR

It’s that time of year again! Our annual Spooky Update is here and it’s free for everyone.

A free song: “Lord & Master” by Apashe

Sneak Peak: https://youtu.be/LeErfoZ3vLU

Apashe’s orchestral bass sound is a perfect fit for the season. It’s dark, cinematic, and heavy enough to keep you moving. “Lord & Master” joins the library at no cost, and it’s our way of saying thank you. You’ve played, mapped, streamed, competed, and stuck with us for years. This one’s for you.

You’ll find it in Specials pack.

The bats are out of their cages

For a limited time, bats are flying over the Spin City home stage and play stage. Look up between songs, because they won’t be around for long.

Neon Bloom + Flash (now available on Standalone)

We’ve turned on two new visual effects, Neon Bloom and Flash, which add a lot of extra glow and punch to every stage. Both are optional. You can turn them on or off and adjust them anytime in Settings.

And we’re just getting started

We have big plans for the end of the year. Stay tuned, because there’s a lot more on the way. Grab your headset, keep enough lights on for your tracking, and see you in Spin City.

Thanks again for playing!

Self-Promotion (Developer) Anyone Interested In Trying WebXR VR Engine I'm Working On

Hello I'm working on a VR engine for building on WebXR that is based on yaml files.

You configure 1 or multiple yaml files make changes to the yaml files and the VR world updates immediately ready for use.

I can't afford to post the link and receive high traffic so if interested please DM me.

Any comments on the choice of YAML files or experience working with YAML files like limits have come across will be appreciated.

Features

It's new just started it but working well, features so far:

- Build World Entirely With yaml files

- File Tree

- Editor

- 2D Canvas Preview

- VR / AR Support (Where specify what to hide in yaml for AR)

- Separation of Concerns with Multiple Yaml Files

- In VR Editor For Quick Iterations

- Gravity

- Collisions

- Textures Support

- 3D Objects Support

- Rig and Animation (Implemented & Testing)

- Animations / Events / Routines System (Implemented & Testing)

- Isolate Object Mode to isolate objects in canvas preview

- Simple 3D Editor for Transform & Rotate In Isolate Object Mode

- Sample Worlds (More In Works)

- Export / Import

- Export Standalone Raw ThreeJS Website For Use With No Editor (Need To Test)

- Download Yaml Sample With All Functionality

- Download SKILL.md for AI Agents to Generate yaml Files to Then Upload and Render World

- No Accounts

- More In The Works

The Goal

The goal is to be able to control and make quick changes using only YAML/XML/JSON of entire experience.

Yes there are plans for

  1. An advanced mode where edit javascript for more control.
  2. Mods where can modify the Editor and functionality yourself (Especially useful for when want your own feature without waiting on update)

Open Source

Yes the project will eventually be open sourced on github so then anyone can try that is where I will post and let github handle the traffic, just looking for some early users who want to push it to the limits and find bugs.

## Support for other platforms than WebXR

I am working on another engine that revolves around my workflow for building with AI but I will also expand the yaml file based engine to support building for Meta Quest SDK, Unity and Unreal Engine.

Self-Promotion (Developer) Infinity - Explore the universe in VR

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Infinity started as a simple idea:

"What if you could freely travel through the universe in VR?"

Two years later, it's now available on Meta Quest.

You can journey from Earth to the outer planets, visit moons across the Solar System, explore distant star systems, and experience the incredible scale of space in a way that's difficult to appreciate on a flat screen.

The base app is completely free because I believe space exploration should be available to everyone.

I'm still actively developing it, and future updates will include real explorable Moon and Mars terrain based on scientific data.

I'd genuinely love feedback from the Reddit space and VR communities. What would you add if you could build your own universe explorer?

Photo/Video Bad Girls - Tooned-Up (Gottlieb 1988)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Released by D. Gottlieb & Co. in October 1988, the original Bad Girls is a quintessential piece of late 80s solid state arcade history. Built on Gottlieb's System 80B platform with a production run of around 2,500 units, the game leans heavily into a campy pool hall aesthetic complete with upbeat music, a distinctive 4 flipper layout, a fast action ramp, and a two ball multiball mode. While legendary for its catchy arcade tunes and fun layout, the original machine is equally famous (or infamous) for its classic late 80s digitized photo backglass styling.

Decades later, the talented Hauntfreaks stepped in to completely reimagine the aesthetic with the Tooned Up alternate version, giving the cult classic a massive stylistic overhaul. Moving away from the original photo real look, Hauntfreaks injected vibrant new life into the machine with custom cartoon styled character art, entirely redone lighting, custom pool table inserts, crisp shadows, and detailed physics material updates. Backed by coding and VR integration help from DGrimmReaper alongside elite Nfozzy physics and Fleep sound integration by Burger, this release transforms a divisive 80s oddity into an absolute must play showstopper that looks, sounds, and plays phenomenally.

More Tables

Setting up VPX

BGFX 10.8.1
I7-9700 (No OC), 64gb DDR4 3666, RTX 3060 12GB, and NVME drives.
Virtual Desktop Wired, Quest 3

This short showcase is meant to highlight the dedication and hard work our community puts into these tables and hopefully inspire more people to dive into the VPX VR scene!
Videos like this got me hooked, and started my VR endeavor.
I love BGFX 10.8.1! The visual rendering efficiency easily outpaces OpenGL on 10.8.0, making even older, legacy tables look incredible.
Running Virtual Desktop wired. Horizon Link (Meta Link) was completely removed from my system.
Thanks VD!
That said, there are still a few stability and workflow hurdles to clear in BGFX 10.8.1.. For instance, requiring a table to launch just to access the configuration menu remains a bit clunky. DMD's not showing up or color ones not working for a lot of tables. No clear explanations of how to config all the new settings and what they do. Some textures not showing up right, lighting. Random crashes.
But the ones that work look mind blowing, even on older tables.

Cheers!!!!

Purchase Advice - Headset Recommendations for a first headset

Hello I know there’s a million of these a day so hopefully this doesn’t get buried.

I’ve played vr before on a psvr2 that a family member had and it’s something I’ve enjoyed and always enjoyed wanted to have my own.

I was looking at the VIVE focus and the steam frame but seeing as these both are out of stock I thought to ask the good people of reddit.

I would like something that could be either wired or wireless. As my current set up having it wired could be precarious. I’d also like something that doesn’t need base stations but I’m not against them either, my play space would just make it difficult to wire them. I’m ready and willing to drop about 2k on a good set up as I know they don’t usually come with everything needed.

My main use case rn I’m interested in is vrchat I haven’t looked into many other vr games since I didn’t have a set up I didn’t want to have a list that was making me want to get into this sooner then later.

Logistics stuff I have a beefy computer 32 gig ram sapphire pulse Radeon RX 7900 xtx intel core i5 12600KF my play space is on the smaller side as well maybe 6x6

Also I do NOT want a quest I refuse to sell my info to zuck

Thank you for taking your time to read and any suggestions yall give have a wonderful day!

Purchase Advice Do I upgrade?

I use vr soley for simracing. Tripples just cant compare to actually feeling like youre in the car. My current setup is a Varjo aero run via a rtx5080 and 9800x3d. Ive had it a few years now and love it. I got it second hand for a good deal. However im now wondering if I might get better visuals with a newer headset. My aero is running on very high to ultra settings and typically I get zero to minimal stutter at this, but its track and environment dependant. I dont think I could push my computer any harder so I think the only advantage of an upgrade might be better displays. Could someone with some more experience with VR headsets let me know if an upgrade from my aero is worth it, or is my setup about as good as I can get?

Self-Promotion (Developer) I spent six months automating the path from an avatar idea to headset testing

For the past six months, I have been building an automated production pipeline for original VRChat avatars. I did not build it to replace the creative decisions that make an avatar personal. I built it to handle the long chain of repetitive production work that happens after the design is chosen.

The core pipeline is working now. Someone can begin with an original idea or reference image, and the system moves the project through its Blender and Unity stages, runs quality checks, and prepares the avatar for in-game testing. When the build is ready, the creator receives an email, puts on their headset, and starts testing. The creator still reviews the result, makes the final decisions, and handles publication.

I am aiming to have the first release ready in about four weeks. Most of my work now is focused on improving visual quality, reliability, and the range of original designs the pipeline can handle.

I am not accepting payments or selling anything in this post. I am looking to connect with VR developers, avatar creators, technical artists, and potential early testers who understand how much time repetitive production work can consume.

If you build anything for social VR and this sounds useful, I would genuinely like to hear what you work on and whether you would be interested in testing or collaborating when it is ready.

Discussion VR Mod for Path of Titans

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Here are instructions for how to get it going:

https://github.com/cybershrimp23/PathOfTitans_UEVR

This is pretty early on! I wanted to see if the game play would work in VR and it does!

This is not for VR players who still haven't gotten their sea-legs! It's a third person dinosaur survival game so the camera movement is a bit different than traditional VR games.

Because of the way the game works snap-to-turn doesn't really make sense. Your camera angle relative to your dinosaur determines where it bites, so snap to turn would leave you with limited attack capabilities.

It really changes the game dynamics making it easier to see other characters in the game, this is partially because when you maneuver your camera above your dinosaur it still maintains your headset angle (otherwise it would feel aweful), giving you a better view - but I also feel like binocular vision really lets you scan the environment in a way that is hard to do in a flat screen mode; it's almost like it speaks to something we're evolved to do - scan for hunting opportunities.

I was surprised by this but, that was one of the first things I noticed.

Also the new camera dynamics might have changed the fighting dynamics a bit, I haven't played this game enough to know, but it seems like it has - but more experienced players would have to play it to confirm; alternatively it might just turn out I'm a terrible dinosaur.

The game has huge maps which are really amazing and feel very expansive - which is why I wanted to try this in VR, that alone makes it worth experiencing.

I developed this on a BigScreen Beyond 2/w an R9700 (9070XT) and it's very playable at 50% resolution with all the graphics settings turned to high.

Anyways if you find issues or want to contribute - you can use the github repo to clone it , submit PRs, file issues, etc.

If you're excited about this file a support ticket with Alderon Games asking for official VR support:

Question/Support Best place to find all these VR mods?

Howdy. I'm dusting off my OG quest while I wait for my lottery ticket to snag a Steam Frame. Is there anywhere that has compiled all these new VR mods that look incredible? I have found Titanfall easily enough through Google, but I remember seeing someone mention there was an app or site that had all the newest flat to vr mods on it and was frequently updated. Does anyone have a link or site I can use to track this stuff? Thanks.

News Article Looking for some honest feedback on my VR horror demo

Hey everyone!

I've been working on my VR horror game, FORBIDDEN SILENVIL, for about 9 months on my own.

The free demo is out on Meta Quest now, and I'd really appreciate it if some of you could give it a try.

The game uses your actual microphone for spoken rituals, and I'm especially curious if everything works properly for different players.

Good or bad, I'd love to hear your thoughts. I'm still working on the full game, so any feedback would help a lot.

Here's the free demo:

Thanks to anyone who gives it a try! 😊

Question/Support How can I solve micro stutters on Quest 3 over Virtual Desktop?

Using Virtual Desktop to my PC, on 5G WiFi. I am playing HL Alyx and if I stand still and spin in a circle, I get terrible frame stuttering. The performance chart of VD shows all single digits until the moment of my stutter, which then makes the 'Game' latency jump very high and immediately come back down. It's like 5ms latency and then I drop frames and the ms go way up but I can't see the spike because of the dropped frames. But I do see them recovering in the few seconds afterwards.

Any idea what I can do to fix this?
