Hi, I used to own an HTC Vive Focus Plus and I wanted to share my thoughts with anyone considering buying or reviewing it, maybe it will help. First, the arms... the arms aren't as bad as people say, they don't snap during fast movements, but the real problem is if you bring them close to your body, hold them behind your back and wait for three or five seconds, they'll go crazy. Secondly, there's the power issue. Let's be honest, this device came out in 2019, it has 4GB of RAM, and it's very old. It's practically useless for standalone use, maybe slightly useful for corporate tasks, which is its purpose anyway, but If you're a gamer, it will disappoint you terribly. The third, and in my opinion most serious, aspect is the game library. Since the device is corporate, there are almost no games, and there are very few decent games, but they are quite expensive, so it's not a perfect fit for gamers Nightmare. Now, let's talk about the good points. PCVR isn't that bad; if you have a good PC and 5G internet, you can play well with its AMOLED screen. The strangest thing is that despite being 7 years old, its servers are still active, meaning you can download VR, Idge, or some corporate applications if you want, but of course there are very few games that are at a meh level. This device is not suitable for corporate use. While the controllers aren't as robust as a Quest controller, they're somewhat consistent. Another advantage is that if you want to watch videos and don't have high expectations, just want to try out some tasks in VR, it can be useful, but don't expect the quality of Quest 2, of course... In conclusion, if you have any opinions, please feel free to share them. I wrote this for someone considering and curious about buying an HTC Vive Focus Plus. I hope it will be helpful.

I want to look into VR headsets for games like "Elite dangerous" or Flight sims but have absolutely no idea of the state of headsets like capabilities or good prices.
If you folk have any good recomendations for a first headset with good balance on quality/price would love to hear about them

Hello I know there’s a million of these a day so hopefully this doesn’t get buried.
I’ve played vr before on a psvr2 that a family member had and it’s something I’ve enjoyed and always enjoyed wanted to have my own.
I was looking at the VIVE focus and the steam frame but seeing as these both are out of stock I thought to ask the good people of reddit.
I would like something that could be either wired or wireless. As my current set up having it wired could be precarious. I’d also like something that doesn’t need base stations but I’m not against them either, my play space would just make it difficult to wire them. I’m ready and willing to drop about 2k on a good set up as I know they don’t usually come with everything needed.
My main use case rn I’m interested in is vrchat I haven’t looked into many other vr games since I didn’t have a set up I didn’t want to have a list that was making me want to get into this sooner then later.
Logistics stuff I have a beefy computer 32 gig ram sapphire pulse Radeon RX 7900 xtx intel core i5 12600KF my play space is on the smaller side as well maybe 6x6
Also I do NOT want a quest I refuse to sell my info to zuck
Thank you for taking your time to read and any suggestions yall give have a wonderful day!

my game is based on the well known phrase, “eat shit.” it’s pretty rough right now, but I’m gonna stop doing it manually and use Claude for the rest. the game starts with a cutscene of you eating shit, and falling on the floor(it’s in third person). on the floor, you find a pile of dog poo that looks fiercly appetizing. you can reach out and grab it, squish it around, etc, and putting it near your mouth takes a bite. I’ve been working for about a month but I feel I could do it much faster using claude with the 20 max subscription. you can upgrade the size, rarity, etc. of your shit, earn stamina and different tools that help you pick up shit, and it all takes place in a large dog park fit with trees, bushes, grass, and poop bags(you lose points if you use one) overall I just want to hear some opinions on it! Poop will have full squish and stretch physics as it’s the main point of the game, and I’m gonna add a story and such. I gave you a very rough glimpse into it. It may sound weird, but I’d like to provide games to the vrfetlies group. :) game will be on steam around tomorrow or the day after idk how to use Claude but it’ll probably make it good I’ll just ask it to finish the story and stuff and use its creative vision and it’ll have a big plot twist so get ready and it’s depends on the quality but it’ll be like 10-20 bucks. also, to accept the joystick drift community as well it uses monkey movement.

So, I was just listening to a podcast about how GTA was the biggest selling non-mobile game by an order of magnitude, and how they go to absurd lengths to put little details into the game just for realism's sake.
Let's pretend we had an alternate universe where the grandchild of the CEO or whatever caught VR fever and pestered them nonstop until they agreed to fund a fully featured VR mode for this game. (Flatscreen mode is still there as well, a single purchase gets you both.)
PSVR2 support on PS5 and PS5 Pro. When the PC version comes later, full PCVR support. Including whatever online stuff they end up making.
Full motion controls, IK body, etc (think fully modded SkyrimVR.) Eye tracking for avatars, full body tracking on PCVR.
Full range of comfort features.
Somehow they magically optimise it to run decently in VR.
Lots of marketing about how you can finally be truly inside the world of GTA, etc.
So, with an excellent VR implementation, one of the biggest games in the world, and plenty of marketing, do you think this would have moved the needle in the VR market at all? Or would it be one of the biggest flops in gaming history? (The VR mode. The flatscreen game is unlikely to flop...)

I have used the PSVR 1, Oculus Quest 1 and Meta Quest 2, these are what I'm basing my review off of
The Displays/lenes. Pretty damn good displays. I see some people are upset with the LCD option. I use the Frame at about 110% brightness, and the blacks are pretty black, there not really that grey at all. The screen door effect is pretty dang hidden, unless you keep still and focus really hard in one spot you don't notice it. The 120Hz options is very nice, its hard to go back to 72 after playing 120 for a while honestly so that's a very nice feature. The lenses sit VERY close to your face, it hits my eyebrows before my eyelashes, so i have to use the eye spacer. With the eye spacer there's not much of a noticeable FOV decrease i find personally.
The Battery. I only use the streaming from PVCR i don't use the Standalone option. Playing games like Into the Radius, Ghosts of Tabor and pistol whip, they all last approx 1hr 45mins. Which honestly is only a little less then what i would get on my Quest (i understand the quest 2 does all the possessing onboard) I personally got the 20,000 mAh Ugreen 45Wh powerbank (this extends my playtime to 6+ hours) I'm glad that they didn't go with a bigger battery because it makes the whole rig SO LIGHT.
The COMFORT. ITS AMAZING, i love the soft fabric that they used for the face gasket, its very nice on my skin and it doesn't make it irritated like the quest 2 would after a while of use. The battery counterweight is very nice but you definitely need the top head strap that comes with the ergo kit. I wasn't able to get one and i notice it tends to slip down my head a lot when playing physically intense games. The weight distribution and overall weight is very nice, I tend to often forget its on my face when I'm in game its very nice, UNLESS I'm looking straight up or down a lot that's when the strap begins to slip.
The Dongle. I've had some issues with it being a little spotty every now and then but for the most part its not too bad. I'm about 8 feet (2.5m) away from my computer/dongle and it does pretty well. i hope with these future software updates it gets more stable. I noticed the signal actually get very unstable if you simply face 180° away from the dongle, i don't know if i have a thick skull or what, but that's pretty unamusing for 1500$ CAD. Like I'm latterly 10feet away from it. (yes my USB port is 3.1)
The controllers. It was definitely different, after about 3 days of use i got used to the layout of them. The size of the controllers are GREAT for me personally (from tip of middle finger to my wrist is 8 1/4" for reference) the magnetic thumbsticks are VERY nice, super accurate and very luxurious feeling. My left grip however is squeaking very loudly.
The Audio. its pretty buns. it lacks fidelity and obviously bass. I just Bluetooth my Skullcrusher Evos and they work great with no delay. Or I use a audio/power splitter with some moonchu II IEMS and those work great too. (yes they charge and give audio at the same time with no drawbacks)
If you have questions lmk i like geeking out about this thing :)

I want to get into vr again I bought a quest 1 when it came out but now I have a pc so I was wondering what would be a worthwhile headset to buy. I have a budget of around $250. I’ve seen a full setup for the cosmos elite for just under $200 is that worth getting? Thanks.

It's a pretty simple city builder for Cyberpunks. Not a deep game or difficult to run at all... but the dev has finished with the game content-wise now without giving us a VR mode.
Imagine flying (in an aerolight VTOL, future car, or helicopter), or walking around these hyper-stylized cities in VR. As it is so dependent on building stuff, it might make the prospects of a mod very hard to realize but just wanted to put this out into the universe of possibilities we're currently swimming through.
In general i'd love to see more VR sandboxes that focus on architecture and the potential scale that VR experiences can really knock out of the ballpark.

I got the Summer Unlimited Pass, $150 for unlimited experiences for you and a friend for 3 months.
(Short version)
Recommended:
Not recommended:
6. Stranger Things Catalyst
7. Rebel Moon: The Descent
8. Amber Sky 2088
Good for children that like dinosaurs:
Age of Dinosaurs
(Long Version)
(Tied) Deadwood Phobia & Deadwood Origins
Best zombie shooter with lots of locations, interesting enemies, a great story and very scary! The graphics are excellent with enough balance between action and story to not overwhelm you. It’s the best experience. Both of them are worth it.
Squid Games
Fun, easy to learn, interactive, competitive and kid friendly. A lot like Mario party. If you play it more than once there’s different versions with some different games.
Curse of Davy Jones (pirates)
Liked the different combinations of using fire together as a team. I felt it was short but my friend enjoyed it. There’s plenty of locations and story for it to be enjoyable and unique.
Seekers of the Shard (DnD)
Fun choose your own adventure mechanics. Ranged weapons have a little bit of an advantage. You can choose your own ending and there’s a choice in the middle for a different route if you decide to play again.
Deadwood Mansion
Simple, fun, not complicated, but worst graphics of the experiences. Still one of the most fun ones.
Deadwood Valley
Fun, but still the weakest of the deadwood series. The others have more interesting locations, mechanics, story, and enemies.
Stranger Things Catalyst
Too complicated, hurt my arm from doing repetitive motions. Lots of locations but gameplay was not as fun as using guns. It’s a lot of doing the same action over and over. It’s been recommended by a lot of people here, I’m sure it’s fun for fans of the series.
Rebel Moon
Enemies were repetitive, just shooting the same soldiers. Not as interesting, story was nonsensical. It was recommended by all the employees as their favorite, I’m not really sure why.
Amber Sky 2088
Interesting graphics but boring and confusing gameplay that isn’t explained to you. Enemies jump out of nowhere and there is no coherent objective or story. There is a fun gameplay element with the power ups but that doesn’t make it fun.
(Secret third category)
Age of Dinosaurs
It’s a kids learning experience. For an adult it was fun but isn’t something I would spend money on as a group activity unless I had a child that liked it.
——-
I posted in this subreddit because most people asking about Sandbox VR post here, and Google promotes it.
If you plan to do it a single time it’s VERY expensive. It’s $110 for a weekday and $120 for a Friday and weekend. The membership ($200 over 3 months) is worth it if you plan to do it more than once. I waited for a deal and got it for $150 for 3 months. I brought a friend every time so it paid for itself the second time I used it. I did 4 experiences in 1 day because I was bored.

This is an experimental development build. The latest cockpit features have been tested on native Quest; dedicated PCVR testing and performance improvements are ongoing. Stable 72 FPS across gameplay has not yet been achieved.
You need your own supported original Xbox USA/NTSC-U game data. No original game files are included. The Quest importer supports ISO/XISO, ZIP and 7z. For PCVR, extract compressed archives first and import the ISO/XISO.

I’m curious about uses for FBT beyond just vrchat. Share your ideas on how you’d use it, which games could it be used in, and for what purpose?
