I've grown up with PC building games, from Garry's Mod to Factorio, KSP, Space Engineers and a bunch of others, but I could never find anything on mobile that scratched that itch. So for the past few months I've been trying to make my own called Overbuilt (stitched some gameplay clips together to show)
The game is fully physics based (within mobile limitations) and most of the systems are in place. It's still in-development but I'm looking for some early feedback to make it something truly special
Right now there's a campaign where you fight, mine, haul cargo and race, and each mission pushes you to build something better than before.
There's also an async PvP arena where your ship goes up against other players' designs (flown by AI) and a crew system where you can progress together with others against server-wide capital ships.
Lately I've started doubting the concept a bit though, and I wanted to hear from people who actually play games like these.
What would your ideal one be like? Do you prefer depth and complexity, or a more casual experience since it's surprisingly hard to make a game like this intuitive and fun on mobile, curious what you all think!

Mark Hamil Fully immersing himself in squadron 42 with steam frame, vipril sticks and dbox haptic seat. You are the main character in this story. How i wish i can play in that sim cockpit for a truly space sim game experience.

Ready your rigs, ready your vr, ready your dbox or haptic device for a fully immersive space sim of the decade and be the hero in this epic cinematic liner story!

Here is my game Perihelion, this is old footage of comets v1 in my solar system. Also visible as photometric dots are asteroids.
Yes, I coded this with AI. Ive been working on this with ai, sometimes I step in the code, but ive been working on it for 1year now.
Your welcome to check out my channel on youtube for dev updates. Ive done lots of systems for the sim you can check (like the planetarium simulation, but also factory pipeline, still working on that gameplay stuff, dunno how deep to go and stuff.)
The game doesnt have a full gameplay loop yet still working on that. But you can plan missions and build factories, thats starting to take shape, you can aquire land and stuff...

Hey all, I'm making a persistent browser-based game inspired by EVE Online. It has most of EVE's core activities, like mining, trading, PvE, PvP, industry, etc. There's also a unique sensors and detection model, an in-depth industry tree (9 raw resources + 9 refined + 25 intermediates), tradable futures/options, player-run banks and insurance. Also, everyone can set up their own space stations (don't have to be in a corp), and it's a pretty integral part of the game as stations provides manufacturing capacity.
What you can do:
Why this instead of EVE?
There's about 5 active players now, but if you join, there'd be 6, and I'll be very happy :)
Play here: https://asteraonline.com
(At least check out the 40+ super cool spaceships that I drew in paint, I'm very proud of them)
Join the discord for development news: https://discord.gg/EGqvCCS5nw
Generative AI disclosure: All in-game art and music are made by me. Sound effects are from royalty-free and commercial-use-allowed sources. AI was used only in coding and I run automated and manual tests before every release.

Just curious if the general player base is aware that boulder fields, or scenes like a derelict ship in a cloud of debris, are completely unrealistic?
Orbital mechanics ensures that asteroid fields quickly get scattered. And debris clouds don't just freeze... all the parts just drift off and continue drifting until there's nothing left. The common scene of a derelict ship surrounded by debris just hanging motionless beside it can't actually happen.
Of course it's done for eye candy, and people often argue about the rule of cool when it comes to making games, however, I am trying to make a very realistic space sim, and am worried that my realism reads quite simply as a lack of eye candy.
Any thoughts on that?

Hey everyone!
I wanted to share a short gameplay video showing what a typical journey in NGC-404: Fractured Sector might look like, enjoy!
Also if you have any questions or want to share your thoughts feel free to do just that. :)
This is still work in progress.

Hi! I just opened the playtest of The Ignition Protocol and I would appreciate it if you gave it a try and sent me your feedback!
It's a top-down asteroid-mining game with incremental progression. You gather resources to ignite a new star. It has realistic zero-g flight model, asteroid towing and base building.
Here is a link to the steam page:
And a clip of exploding rocks which I added recently ;)

Hi.
I am building a space exploration game for mobile, Earth Is Optional. The game is in development with an Android closed test.
I would love to share some recent progress here and hear your thoughts!
The footage is from real Android gameplay recorded with a screen recorder.
The idea is simple. Construct and equip your own spacecraft. Make sure you have correct modules for a particular mission. Travel to any destination in the Solar System (for now) at close to the speed of light using a hyper module. The catalogue already has over 600 real objects, planets, moons, asteroids. Investigate and complete assignments.
At the moment you can land on the Moon and explore the Moon with a rover. The moon itself is real, well based on real scientific data, so every crater and region is real! I want to build from here and extend the same feature to other moons and destinations.
Hope you like it! Would love your feedback on mission progression ideas and modular construction design for the spacecraft.

Deleted old post because I messed up the title.
Prototype of a new space flight sim with Newtonian physics. A heavy focus around stealth and sabotage. Not a combat game.
Set within a single solar system far away from Sol. Home to the descendants of a colony ship launched over a thousand years ago. Nobody could believe it when a second ship arrived, and before long a war broke out between the two settler civilisations.
Play as a stateless hauler who has only ever known the harshness of space, saved from oblivion by an underworld organisation, you're offered a way out. Take one job, pull it off and claim a ship of your own.
Pilot a decommissioned transit hauler, stripped bare for parts. Only the hard-wired fallback systems survived. No advanced computers, no autopilot, forget guns...all you have is basic flight assistance, switches and bolts, spit and grit.
The beauty of this heap of junk is that it’s old enough to run hacked firmware but not so old as to raise any attention or suspicion. With this ship you can hide in plain sight, and take on the role of a Cold Runner: smuggle, steal and spy your way to a better future.

Heads up: this isn't a cockpit sim. Space is the setting, so I'm posting it for Spaced Out Friday.
What it is: an idle game where you start as a pebble and pull in whatever drifts past. What you eat and when you ignite decide what you become — ocean world, iron planet, hot Jupiter, red dwarf, blue giant, magnetar, black hole, and eventually a galaxy.
I tried to keep the astrophysics honest wherever the game would let me:
- Ignition mass sets the star type and lifetime. Mass at death sets the death: planetary nebula, core-collapse, or direct collapse.
- Remnants use real numbers. A white dwarf goes Type Ia at the Chandrasekhar limit (1.4 solar masses). A neutron star is born at 1.4 and collapses to a black hole around 2.2.
- A blue giant heavy enough to go Wolf-Rayet never swells into a red supergiant — the wind strips it first, and it ends as a Type Ib/Ic.
- The black hole is ray-traced through curved spacetime, including frame dragging for the Kerr case (the shadow goes D-shaped).
- Almost every random event is a real phenomenon: Carrington-class flares, FRBs, white dwarf mergers, magnetar giant flares, impact winters (kilometer-class only).
Stage: Steam page just went live (Coming soon). All the content is in; I'm in testing and polish now. A demo is planned.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/5336210/Pebble_to_Star/
What I'd love from this crowd:
Watch the 30-second video. Does anything look physically wrong?
What real phenomenon would you expect in a game like this that I'm probably missing?
I'll reply to every comment.
AI note: made with AI assistance (writing/translation and coding tools). All art and sound are rendered by code, no AI image or audio generation. Full disclosure on the Steam page.

The game is still in development, and I’d love some feedback on the building models and planet environments. Do they fit together visually? Would you change the shapes, add more detail, or make the buildings stand out more against the terrain?
A wishlist on Steam would really help the project:

I first tried making this game ten years ago, as a fork of Naev. This is my second attempt, as a browser game made from scratch. A mostly open-world space game with a strong exploration focus, in an Art Nouveau steampunkish universe, inspired by Escape Velocity and classic science-fiction novels.
Carry annoying passengers, use local tragedies to make a killing on sales, turn to piracy or even ransom captives, take part in missions that will shape the galaxy, go beyond civilized space looking for natives you can barter with, betray humanity if you feel like it - whatever makes you money or inspires you.
The game is playable, but rough around the edges, and the storylines in particular are very much a work in progress.
It's 100% free, no accounts, no ads, playable in any desktop/laptop browser, but requires a keyboard. Play straight on https://www.noximperii.com/play or visit https://www.noximperii.com for more details.
Two notes:
What I'd love to know:

Kerbal Space Program is the only game I really ever played, and I loved it! Since that time, I switched to macos, which made things difficult. And then my main machine became company owned one, which made it more difficult.
I've always wanted a similar experience again but never really found a good, easy way. KSP is kind of in rubble right now, Juno is nice but it doesn't fully scratch my itch.
So, as any good nerd (with access to AI) would do, I build my own free, browser based space program simulator!
Fusilli Space Program 🚀
It's far from finished and I'm not sure yet where I'm taking it, but it's at the point where I genuinely start to enjoy playing it.
All the physics and orbital mechanics works. You can build your own vehicles, get to orbit, dock, go on EVA and explore distant moons. There's not really a mission to it. It's mostly a big sandbox.
Would love to hear what breaks, what you like and what you don't...

Hi everyone!
We’ve developed a small game inspired by titles like Privateer and Rebel Galaxy, bringing that experience to a 2D top-down perspective—with trading, missions, combat, and a story, without compromising on depth. We love titles like Cosmoteer, Gratuitous Space Battles or Silent Sector. If you like one of them - you may also like Cold Cargo.
The main story offers around 8-10 hours of gameplay. Along with more then 50 handcrafted side quests in addition to procedural missions. You can work your way up from a small spaceship to a massive carrier, set up your own trade routes, manage trading fleets, and explore a dynamic economy, build an own space station, invest in economy — and much more.
More then 40 ships to fly and own, more then 30 weapons with levels and rarity to collect.
Does this sound like your kind of game? We’re looking for players who’d like to test Cold Cargo and we are happy for any feedback. You can find an details about the game and sign up for an unlimited playtest at coldcargo.de. We will send you an individual invite link.
If there’s enough interest, we’re considering releasing the game on Steam and/or mobile devices. The game is currently only available in English and German - we may add additional translations later.
Can be played with mouse, mouse & keyboard, controller or touch devices inside your browser without installing anything.
Playable Link: coldcargo.de
Involvement: Solo-Dev & son :-)

Craftonaut is a block-based mobile space sandbox where you can build ships and stations, mine asteroids, manufacture materials, fight enemies, and salvage ships. It currently has both Survival and Creative modes and is released on Android and iOS, but it’s still in active development with more features planned.
Any feedback or opinions are welcome, whether it’s about the gameplay, visuals, controls, UI, or just the overall concept.

Play free in your browser, no account or download: https://vaigames.com/vybeciv/
Stage: first public build (early alpha). Solo dev.
VybeCiv is a single-player, turn-based 4X. You start on Earth with a classic civ loop: cities, research, units, AI rivals. Reaching orbit is where the space part begins. Earth collapses into a single hex on a Solar System map, and planets and moons become the tiles you colonise and expand across. Later the Sun's whole system becomes one tile on a galaxy map. Your earlier maps keep producing under a governor while you play the bigger one.
It's a strategy game set in space, not a flight or ship sim, so this is my Spaced Out Friday post.
Disclosure: I designed it and wrote the feature specs, most of the code was written with Claude Code, I used Grok for balance feedback, and the music is from Suno. Onboarding is thin and the late-game AI is weak, which I'm working on next.
Specific feedback I'm after:
Does the Solar System tier feel like real space expansion, or just a reskinned hex map?
What would make planets and moons feel more different from each other?
Any bugs, with your browser and device.

Hey friends. Me and a few others are working on a spaceship sim similar to Artemis or Empty Epsilon but with a more arcady flair. Its a 4-6 player asymmetric coop game where each player plays their own station. Its free in the browsers at https://www.allhandssim.com/.
The game is in pre-release mode but complete end-to-end and we are looking for some playtesters to test for station balance and general fun-ness.
Happy to have you crew a ship and play on your own (there is a small feedback form optionally after every mission) or we have a discord with ad-hoc testing session throughout the week.
