Hi, I'm working in an overhaul of koarr , started with common desires since the announce of the remaster, transmog in gane, set collection and availability, re order of the stash and more , Version 1 3 is coming.

I'm working on a huge bug fixing update .

Companion system.

New textures , sets , and more.

I'd appreciate if people give it a go and track it, updates are coming fairly fast and my understanding not only if Lua but game files , hashes etc is ever growing.

Current and future versions available in nexus, read description and changelog

https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomsofamalurrereckoning/mods/89

Please make suggestions and help with the game bugs list , there's no really comprehensive list afaik.

Game Mod I MANAGED TO INCREASE GRASS DRAW DISTANCE, NEXT UP - LODS AND ENEMIES!

Before and after.

The distance is tripled and seems stable. Increasing it further brings issues with the grass grids and draw capacity and I'm currently looking for ways to increase those too so we could have truly modern draw distances eventually. I've already found a few promising leads for LODs, and with the concentrated hunt for LOD distance, I'm sure I'll find the other draw distances too.

And yes, obviously I'm using AI for the reverse engineering. This kind of work wouldn't have been feasible before and only available to handful of people who know how to poke and hunt bytes and paths from memory. And no, it's not just "AI gib me mod".

The modification itself is just a simple byte change, quick and easy.

Edit: Slight update since posting a 20 minutes ago, the grid increase test WORKS. The grass distance is so far you don't see it being generated. Remains to be seen if it's stable or not, but so far so good.

Double edit: This has been over a week in the making alongside a few other mods, just now hit a proper breakthrough which might speed up the other work too.

Triple edit:
I've got LOD distance doubled now. Running some tests. Currently it's basically so far that you only occasionally see pop in if the zone is very large and unobstructed.

Game Mod Little Mod to make the game more enjoyable.

I love KOA like many of you do.
but there are a few issues with it which i am fixing slowly.

For starters i created this small mod

https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomsofamalurrereckoning/mods/72

it simply makes you run faster as time goes on so when you have to back-track or simply want to explore more it makes you ramp up to double speed.
chose to make it that way so it doesn't interfere mid combat.

Small bug feature, while you are running fast you can cast a skill fast as well ( too good to patch out ).

Currently i am working on

  • Better trainers ( already posted, it hides trainers you used, removes over level skills so if you have a skill at level 7 you can still use the training at 6 instead of resetting just to get it )
  • Rebalancing some skills
    • Healing Surge at max rank removes a curse effect on you
    • Sphere of Protection gives you a bit more stats to make it worth while
    • Assassins Art ( I think this is the big one ) gives you 10% per level while in stealth
    • Specter Mastery buff - Still haven't decided if just pure numbers
    • Smoke Bomb CD reduced
    • Buffing bows because they felt bad to me ( all bows related skills )
  • Automatic Junk ( I have a POC but its 2 buttons F1 auto moves to junk and F2 auto moves to junk and discards, however this requires to run an exe to let the script know the button is pressed so i am not sharing it yet until i don't need that )

If you guys have any ideas of things you want to see or dreamt about and ill try to inspire from them ( don't worry ill shout you out )

Big love

Update.

I created the following for now and working on more -

Sneaking goes faster as you level assassinsart ( faster movement )
Black bars gone -- PuzzledNetwork5953
Healing surge cleanes curses at max rank
LongBow master gives infinite arrows at max rank
Spheres of protection buffed resistance and doesn't hit enemies when you are stealth-ed -- BatmanR29
Inoculation at max rank could grant the Disease Immunity effect - after first tick of disease - CharlesBrown1990

its now up https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomsofamalurrereckoning/mods/76

i am going to do a few more and release them together but they are separate so you can pick and choose.
Dynamic level is done, even starting zones will be challenging while not impacting your early game drastically ( every zone is brought up to the level of the player, EXP gained as wlel.

Working on Item leveling, currently its an automatic system. As you level up your items will level up with you. so you don't have to swap unless you want a bonus set - This is looking promising

Update 2.

Dynamic monsters in all zones done, its also based on difficulty so Very hard is actually Very hard. ( the map will always be 5 levels ahead at hardest, but the same at normal ) if a monster isn't defined in a zone like a DLC it will get upscaled by second part of the mod so everything is here ( even bosses from my testing but can be bugged )

Gear now scales with level, The moment you load it the mod will look at all your items and scale them to your level, each time you level up its gonna get scaled, so you no longer need to throw things you like away

infinite storage + inventory done and working

RekoningAutoMasher ( no script needed an ingame mod ) So you can instead look at the animations instead of ( whats the button then pressing it )

Working on more things right now. will release one of those once i feel ready.

thank you guys

Game Mod Increased Draw Distance mod coming very soon!

3x draw distance is currently running, presumably stably, at around 200-400fps on a 9600X and 3080ti, my other mod 3x enemy spawn multiplier is also on. So there is basically zero hit to performance on a modern gpu. It will obviously vary depending on your setup, but I'm fairly certain it's going to be completely playable even with a 1060, likely steam deck too but not necessarily 3x.

The draw distance on LODs, vegetation, grass, terrain LOD, NPCs, interactables, static world objects, pretty much EVERYTHING is configurable between 1.5x, 2x and 3x. There is no option to change them individually.

I've spent a few days tackling on a few repeatable crashing bugs and they're now hopefully solved,
I'm starting a fresh run tomorrow and play for a bit, if there's no new issues I'll release the mod.

It's honestly game changing to play so you don't practically see ANY lod pop in.

edit:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pyaa8YGDJs0
Video to see the pop in changes

edit2:
Made increased shadow draw distance too, the vanilla low range was blatantly obvious with the general draw distance increase. I haven't shown it yet.

Game Mod 700 Enemies on screen without graphical issues or crashes! Mod update!

Thumbnail

My other project I've been working on, an enemy spawn rate multiplier!

I was stuck on a glitch that started skipping animations around 250 enemies and crashed if you reload a save from that. But that is fixed now. The game crashes before you reach the new limit of roughly 750. I'm still looking a little bit into it but considering a 3080ti is around 30fps at that point, I think it's a fairly ok limit to have.

No idea what a safe modifier for a playthrough is, but the little I played BEFORE fixing the cap was around 3x, so I'd say even 10x could be playable now if you so wish.

Also included:
XP multiplier to counter the amount of enemies for a real playthrough
Modification to enemy behaviour so the extra enemies don't just dance around you (some idling still included)

No / Increased durability patch coming soon to counter the weapon usage.

I'm starting a playthrough after I finish the Increased Draw Distance mod and this, so I won't be doing any QA before that and rely purely on your, the community's feedback on bugs that aren't immediately obvious.

Game Mod Confused about how to mod

So I want to add mods to the game like item scaling and reshade and all that, but the Nexus descriptions are all too complicated to me and I don't have the folders it says to put things in, plus I'm confused if I need both Mod Framework and F2 Console at the same time. Would anyone be able to help me figure this out, please?

Game Mod Increased Draw Distance TEASER

A quick video I took as I was testing.

It crashes after fast travel, still some work to do but atleast (hopefully) all the memory addresses are found!

Working: Grass and vegetation, NPCs, Dynamic meshes, LODs.

To do: Figure out the enemy "activation" distance so they don't just float around until you run near them and the stability issues.

Game Mod Quality of life mods

Hello team,

A while ago, i think around a month ago i asked what mods do you guys think i should add. Many gave me such good ideas, i can't shout each one but each one but you know yourselves.

Since then i have created a lot of mods, some play into each other. So i wanted to share them in a single place so you can have a look when you want. ( i am ranking them based on what i like all of them are on Nexus mods if you don't like to press links )

Those i use 100% of the time, However some people wanted items to scale up so they don't have to throw them away so i created

Item Scaling - It does what it says, no longer do you have to throw that cool piece of armor, it will level up on its own ( This will take a while if you have a ton of items also its triggered on level up or when you hover over the item )

Dynamic Difficulty - Hardest will now dog walk you. also the entire map is always ahead of you

I have a few ideas left as well, like Adding more ability points so you can max out each tree.

Some mod ideas were impossible ( for me maybe idk what i am doing ).

Thank you team and have fun playing !

Game Mod Getting into modding

Hi! So, as the title says, I'd like to get into modding and learn how to mod. I'm not asking for instructions or anything like that (although tips would be great if anyone has them! <3) but I'm rather asking if KoA would be a bad choice to start with.

I play all sorts of games and I love mods, and I've definitely noticed a lack of modding in KoA, especially if you compare it to Skyrim, Oblivion, The Sims, etc, all of which have HUGE modding communities since the games are so popular.

So, would it be a really bad idea to start my modding journey with KoA? Or does it not matter? I'm really sorry if this is a stupid question, but I don't know if some games are harder to mod than others or not. I'm in the KoA discord server, but I was too scared to ask this question in the modding channel haha so I'm asking here instead

PS I know you need some skills in drawing and graphic designing and stuff like that when it comes to some parts of modding, which I have

Game Mod is there a pc fan patch mod?

I hear the game is very buggy and I'm on the fence on getting it the idea of the game plot being broken and unplayable is not very fu sounding so I was hoping maybe there is a fan patch like with skyrim?

Game Mod Can someone mod Kellerac sword to scale with your level-ups (or with the strongest 2-hand sword).

I love that weapon so much, but it loses relevancy too fast. I don't want it to be too broken or anything, just as strong as the strongest great sword.

Game Mod Anyone know if there's mods for implementing the level/difficulty changes of Re-Reckoning into the og?

Was getting an itch to finally return to the game, maybe even get Re-Reckoning since I had been waiting for Fatesworn to come out before nabbing it (and then I forgot about it lol). Now that I look into it though, the only real aspect I'm interested in are the improvements to the levelling of areas and loot, as well as a new difficulty option (it did get pretty easy even on hard if you started crafting stuff), which would effectively mean that I would pay 40 bucks for a patch. Screwing that, I went on nexusmods to see if there was anything there for any of the gameplay tweaks, but I only found a single mod that just wholesale made all enemies scale to your current level.

I realize that probably means that I'm out of luck, but I figured I'd ask here if anyone is aware of any modding maybe found elsewhere that would make it possible to fiddle with the mentioned aspects?

Game Mod Transmogging crafted items is now possible. Spoiler

r/kingdomsofamalur • • Jun 18 '21

Game Mod I finally figured out how to mod any item in the game. This enables transmogging for weapons and armor, adding new damage types, buffs and talents to your weapons, enabling them to drop more than once and many other features. With some more work I will also be able to create completely new items.

Game Mod The Texture mod tools are out! Get your custom textures in the game in only 1 minute!

Hello there, Amalur!

I have been working on some tools for modding the Remaster of Kingdoms of Amalur - Reckoning. With the addition of official modding tools we are able to modify the games files, however this turned out to be a hard task. I have been cooking up some tools that allow the user to convert files into editable formats and back. It is done for textures! You can now make amlost any texture in the game editable and loaded into the game in just about a minute.

I am super hyped to see what you all can come up with! Here is the link to the modding tools on NexusMods: https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomsofamalurrereckoning/mods/15/

Don't be scared by the looks of it, the tools are straightforward to set up and I am available for questions most of the time! I will be working very hard to make this more accessible and stable to create a healthy modding ecosystem for this game.

For help and info related to the tools please comment on NexusMods.

Thank you for reading and downloading!
