I used Google Maps during the early "Apple Maps is terrible" period, so I never expected Apple Maps to become my default.

That changed when I got a new iPhone and decided not to restore every app immediately. I used the built-in apps for a while and realized Apple Maps had become much better than I remembered. It also fit more naturally into the Apple ecosystem, especially via CarPlay, so it gradually became my everyday map without me deliberately switching.

I originally installed Google Maps as a backup, especially for opening links shared by friends using Android. These days, though, I usually open Apple Maps without thinking. Google Maps is still there when I need it.

What made you give an iPhone app another chance after you had stopped using it?

I am in healthcare and use Lysol wipes to wipe down my phone, but worry about it damaging my phone in the long term. What do you recommend doing?

App privacy report on iPhone shows camera using camera for hours. Even rebooted phone. It showed shortcuts when I never have any but camera hours a day for weeks now.

I know someone out there has the knowledge that my Google searches fail me on. I seem to have a continuous problem with group messages. If I start them, regardless of with iPhone or android users, all is good. If someone else starts them, the group chat gets blown apart after someone responds. It’s like the group chat never existed, but I get individual replies from people. I checked the RCS settings, everything looks normal on the other message settings. It’s becoming a problem and I can’t figure it out! Does anyone have a fix for this?

What time application do you use on the iPhone?

I got the silver 17 pro max and have been through 3 cases, a cheap amazon one, a Tiny Owl one (lint magnet 😩), and Apples own tech woven case but the quality is terrible and it’s peeling everywhere. Does anybody have any recommendations of a high quality, magsafe compatible, minimal case?

First and foremost, I am by no means associated with the team who developed the Mister Keyboard app. Just an ex Android user who was missing the keyboard and wanted to share.

So as mentioned above, I’m an ex Android user who moved to iPhone earlier this year. Just like many others, the keyboard on iOS was a huge issue for me. I came across the Mister Keyboard app which let me customise the default keyboard to look and feel like the keyboard on Android phones.

The main things for me was I could:
- add a period and comma to the main keyboard
- add a number row above the letters
- press and swipe the delete key to control how fast/slow I delete letters
- increase the sensitivity of the key vibration

I am using the free version of the app. Its not perfect but its pretty damn close to the Android keyboard and bridges the gap between devices that much more.

It pops up every time I open this screen, I hate it

So I have the iPhone 17 pro max and the iPad air M3, I was doing some random comparisons between them to decide what to play games on (despite the fact that the ipad doesn’t have 120hz), I realized that the ipad has unlimited multi tap capabilities, while the iPhone can ONLY HOLD UP 5 taps at the same time, I thought that this was a problem with this model only but I tried the 13, 15, 16 and even the 18 line ups and they all have the same problem, they all freeze when you add up another finger to the 5 and the will not unfreeze until you take off that 6th finger, was this normal before? I have never noticed this problem when I had older iPhones on older versions of updates, So I wanna know if this is a software problem that can be fixed with an update or do we have to live with it? I really can’t stand the fact that the ipads from the same company can hold up infinite fingers but the iPhones can’t even tho the iPhones are the most popular and might even be stronger in performance.

They all need to be held at an angle to work. They only work fine when the cable is new.
What brands dont have this issue? Cause this happens to my apple ones too

The face scan doesn't work at times😭

I’ve tried everything. Both are on the newest iOS update. It will let me skip Face ID and Siri setup but not the wallet part. I’ve read that that is where the bug is but it literally won’t let me skip it. I have to either copy setting (which includes wallet) or customize which makes me just go back to quick start. I really don’t want to do iCloud backup because I want to have all of my apps and everything copied over. I’ve gotten the “cancelled data transfer” about 15 times now and I’m about to just return the phone all together. Please help. Has anyone had this issue specifically with the 15?

I was texting someone and the icon that says they were typing was in this scribble style that I’ve never seen before. I went to go screen record and then it went back to normal.

Does this mean anything in particular?

It was scribbling in the dots and then erasing the previous one.

We just got new phones and our iCloud 50GB is used up between 2 people. I’m thinking of not saving photos/videos anymore. Is there other options to occasionally backup that media? Maybe something to plug into the iPhone and download them?

The touch screen on my phone isn't working. I can no longer down, left or right on the phone. Swiping up only works when I'm trying to go back to the home screen. It does not work any other time I try to swipe up. I'm also unable to power the phone down since I have to swipe a toggle on the screen and the phone won't respond when I do. I've been using this phone for about two years now. The only other issues I've noticed are some slight overheating.

I have this weird issue that when making a video and watching it in Photos, I see this weird grid all over the video. But while filming in the Camera app everything seems fine.

Does anyone have this issue as well…? I’m on iOS 27.0.1 and got this phone a week ago.

So the first screenshot is the video, second is a normal photo which is fine.

I can flip the pictures freely 360 every where in the screen and there is one point when I was changing my password it said choose your device. But it was the same name and same version 2 of em as you can see in the picture.

While I was using my phone it suddenly restarted by itself and displayed a red glitch screen. After I force restarted it, the screen turned blue and got stuck on the glitch screen. I haven’t been able to use my phone since.

Quick update: i went to Apple service provider, The shop said it is a logic board issue. Sadly, my warranty expired at the end of last month. So no freebie.
They said the issue caused by overheating or dropping it from a height. It didn’t happen as far as i remember.Unfortunately, I have to pay 16,000 THB (around $480) to replace logic board. 😭
