(Cons and pros at the bottom)
I'm not quite where to start with this, but let me give you some context and to why I purchase this HEAVY ass ebike (because context is important). Awhile ago I made some posts here and elsewhere asking for the best ebike given my current situation, I had a 500w 48v ebike (goes 20mph) that was doing poorly most of the time and that is because I live in Wyoming where the wind is horrible and the area I live in has some decent ass hills to climb. Pair that with the wind and you're going to get knocked over a few times and drain your battery. Anyways you probably already know what I'm getting at here and if you've been to Wyoming you very well know why there's semi trucks turned sideways and flipped over along the highway.. okay I think I made my point clear.
After speaking with some of you here and watching videos on YouTube I needed something with a big battery (50 amp hours+) I didn't care about the speed as I'm not like all these dumb kids and their surrons.. I still wanted a bike with functional pedals, dual motors (to get up the hills easier), and something that didn't look like a surron. I wanted a bike that would be good for putting weight on the back and to travel with. 3 people suggested I look into the Tesway and so I did, bought it off Amazon from the company directly there. Bike came via FedEx and it came in good condition. Cons to the delivery was putting it together, it was extremely heavy and I had to get help just to put the front wheel on lol.
Overall Cons and pros-
[CONS]
(1.) Because the bike is low pedaling around curves and/or if the ground is high in some parts caused my pedals to scrape the surface of the ground. This could be extremely dangerous if your pedals get stuck hitting the ground. Going in a straight line is fine and little curves, but around sharp corners I just let on the throttle a little.
(2.) Rear motor on only is extremely slow and takes at least 20-25 seconds just to get up to 28mph.
(2.)cheap tires expect flats, just like most ebikes you get they came with cheap tires. I installed tannus armor inserts in both + sealant and pulled out at least 30 goatheads with no issue at all.
(3.) As I showed in my picture above the speed limit [64] is false, perhaps it's just a place holder letting you know the speed limit is unlocked? I'm able to hit 44mph on it and that is also according to my phone speedometer... definitely not 64 lol.
(4.) 200 mile range claim is not technically possible. I have done several range tests on this bike and got only about 132 miles on pedal assist 2 (single motor) I have yet to try level 1, but by the time I finish that I'll have to be thrown in the nut house because the 132 mile test really tested my patience and sanity 🤪.
(5.) Motors cut out and bike temporarily shuts off for at least 30 seconds (can be fixed by turning it off then on), why this happened- I was going up a really steep mountain (Teton Pass Wy) it made it halfway then shut off. But let's be honest, I'm really crazy for even trying that.
(6.) Battery mount rail will become loose going over potholes and even mild bumps, make sure it's tightened at least once a month!
(7.) Break levers (at least in my case) require pumping a few times to work better. Best way to describe it is my levers go all the way in which isn't good, but if I squeeze or pump them a few times they go all the way out (not entirely sure why, but has not been an issue as the stopping power is great)
(8.) Bike is heavy.. that is all I have to say.
The bike has issues, but if you have a brain you can fix a lot of them at home with just some tools. Customer support is semi horrible at getting back with you, but at least they didn't ghost me.
[Pros]
(1.) Bike does well in the wind last week we saw wind gusts of 55mph+ in my city, bike preformed well against it going 25-30mph, dual motors. Battery did not drain that much and lasted 6 days at 47miles before plugging in. (This was on windy day's) to my job and back.
(2.) Dual motors take off speed is instant and can be dangerous if you dont know what you're doing, dual motors +level 5 got me up to 40mph within 10 seconds a little less even. I normally go 20-25mph but if it's windy I have to really be in dual motors.
(3.) Back suspension spring coils have been a tremendous help because I live in pothole city and uneven terrain. Suspension in the front forks are decent.
(4.) Bike speedometer is accurate at least on mine, I saw a lot of reviews of this bike from YouTube and it seems they have changed the display and made a few changes from what I noticed. So there's that.
Conclusion: I don't really have much to say about the bike not in a bad way, but because I got it for two reasons. The distance and something to benefit me more given where I live. I'm not going to glaze over it as I mentioned the cons it had and false claim, but it definitely is a step up for me and I like it.
Oh yeah police don't bother me, they only go after the surrons and the one's with fake pedals wheeling up and down the street. I had one cop ask me if I can do wheelies on this bike lol it's impossible hahhaha
