So I just recently upgraded and I’m trying to understand if I can still play series s|x games from the cards themselves if I’m not mistaken? But not the hard drives right? Also what brand should I look into buying for expansion cards? Seen people say to not buy branded stuff.

To sum it up when I made my Xbox account when I was a kid I must have accidentally added a “parent” account and made my account a child account. I just wanted to try out the streaming software on my Xbox but can’t because my account is still a child account. I’m not too worried about it but I just want to change my account to adult so I have more freedom of what settings I want to change.

Don’t exactly know if this is the right place to ask this so if it’s not I would like it if someone could direct me to a more suitable subreddit or site. But can anybody help me figure this out if it is? My Stealth 600X Gen 3’s mixed simply does not want to work and specifically chooses not to work on Wireless mode on my Xbox, but works perfectly fine through Bluetooth when connected to my phone. So it makes me think it’s something with my Xbox and its settings rather than my actual headset.

When I first logged onto Xbox I used the tag "DIRTV JT"... That's every bit of 20-25 years ago lol. But somewhere along the way I must have misplaced my log in info or created my current gamer tag "InferiorJoint" because as I powered on a new to me series x (I haven't powered on a console in the better part of a decade) and used the login info I created to prepurchase GTA6 the tag that came up was "InferiorJoint". Buuut, by going through Joint's friends list there's my old DIRTV name! It still exists!!! I tried using what I thought could be the log in for it, but that's literally ancient history... Is there a process for getting the DIRTV JT tag back? It'd be bad ass to have my old tag to log into GTA 6 for the first time. Thanks.

Been experiencing very slow download speeds lately. Thought maybe it was related to my wifi routers placement. I am now set up on a ethernet cable. And I am still experiencing very slow download speeds. Thankfully my in game lag is gone now.

my xbox makes this crazy whirring noise that if i get on any game it starts up like crazy. kinda correlates with the speed of the fan but i just literally cleaned the fan and also screwed it back tightly so i’m kinda stumped on this one. please help me

OK, so I am quite over this Xbox. I have a Xbox one and it’s somehow has an issue with randomly signing me out. It happened once and I had to make a whole new account because I could not sign in, but this time I was signed out randomly, and when I tried to sign in again, it was taking me into the steps of making a new account. I reset my console and turned it off for a couple days to see if that might fix the issue, but when I went back to try and sign in again. It would still take me through making a new account.

I know for a fact that the email I was using was linked to that profile because I specifically made an outlook for that profile after the first incident with my other profile. The only game I really play the Sims so I assumed that I could just make a new account so I removed the old profile from my game mostly to see if I could sign back in, but I eventually gave up and made a new account hoping that everything that I bought for the Sims was still there. Turns out the maker packs don’t transfer like the expansion packs so essentially I wasted money on add-ons that aren’t even able to be transferred so now I have nothing.

Somehow, I used the same email and password for the new profile as the one I used for the old one which I don’t think should be possible because it wasn’t deleted. I looked up my game tag and it’s still a person you could friend so it’s still out there so unless I somehow used a whole different password and email for that, it just doesn’t seem right to me. I’m trying my hardest to try and get back into this profile, but I low-key think I’m cooked. This is also my first time posting anything in any group so if I’m rambling, please don’t judge. I’d like as many suggestions and possible solutions.

I currently have an Xbox One X (not series X). I do not play constantly. I'll have spurts where I play every day for a bit when a new game comes or I just get in the mood, but then will let it sit for weeks or more unused at a time. I'm at a point where there are some games I want to play that are for series consoles only, but my type of usage won't let me justify the cost of an upgraded console.

I keep hearing about some streaming online play options but I don't know much details about them. Is it possible to stream modern Xbox series games and what hardware does that take? And beyond being possible, is it an enjoyable alternative?

I have an Xbox One X, iPad M1, Macbook M5. I could maybe justify a streamer box like an Apple TV 4k if that supported it, but at that price maybe I'd be better just settling for a Series S refurb for the money.

Hello everyone just wanted to share my experience real quick. So unfortunately a few years ago I made the mistake of buying a series 2 elite controller. It's worked fine but recently the RB trigger stopped working so I decided to order a service replacement from Microsoft.

The replacement arrives and the stick drift on it was so bad that the controller was genuinely unusable. Not to mention the RT and LT triggers were unresponsive. I had to send it back to be replaced with a new service order (which was free), anyways today I open up the 2nd replacement controller and it's arrived with the rubber grips on the handles almost completely peeled off. The LB trigger also doesn't work and the controller is dirty af. Now when I try to make a service order to get it replaced Microsoft wants me to pay $120.

I understand that when you do a service order you are getting a refurbished controller and that's fine, but to me this is totally unacceptable. The elite 2 gotta go down as the worst controller ever made lol. The worst part about it is that I can't get a refund for it through the website, and there seems to be no way to contact microsoft for support in australia. Every support page just links to a different page where all you can do is talk to an AI chatbot, who refers you back to the support page. The AI agent on their support phone line even hung up on me. Very frustrating experience.

Hi, I’m trying to play Xbox 360 games on my Series X, but I cannot log in, keep saying to try network testing, but on my original Xbox 360 and Xbox One X everything is working. Does anybody have simillar issue ?

A few folks had reached out regarding persistent issues with downloading their profile and/or signing in with Xbox 360 games running in Back Compat mode on Xbox One/S/X or Xbox Series S/X consoles. Folks with access to cloud gaming or other consoles would note that this issue seemed to be console specific: they were able to log into back compat games on xCloud or on other Xbox One/Series consoles, but specific consoles were unsuccessful.

The team has been investigating and working on this issue and deployed a patch yesterday which identifies consoles in this state and then fixes the issue on the service side. Reaching out to several impacted customers, we are hearing back that they are no longer impacted. Because this process requires the service to identify the issue as the failure occurs and then apply a backend fix, there is often a short delay. An example of what folks have been typically experiencing would be:

• Launching a back compat 360 game resulting in a profile download/sign-in failure (which may be a different failure screen/code than previously observed).
• Force quitting the 360 game and then waiting a period of time (10-15 minutes, but can take longer).
• Relaunching the game, after which the profile downloads and sign-in is successful.

If you try these steps and are still encountering persistent failures/errors/timeouts in downloading or signing into your profile for Xbox 360 games running in back compat mode, please shoot me a DM.

So a few days ago my Xbox one wouldn't let me sign in, I would get a "please try again" pop up with the error code 0x8027025a. I goggled the code and followed all the steps on the Xbox support page. I checked the support page, everything looked fine, I tried waiting a few seconds and trying again, and I tried restarting my console. I even tried hard resetting by holding the power button until it turned off, I even tried that again in addition to unplugging it.

I thought about doing a factory reset but it won't even let me open the settings. It just gives the same error code. I have no idea what else to do

Leaving this here for anyone who may need it: unplug any USB devices and try again; this did the trick for me.
It’s an old-ass console, but it's still going strong for a lot of people.

So in context I paid for game pass like 5 months ago, but the problem is that I got a refund even though I never requested one, I was still able to use game pass, and now the credits I used for it are in my account. I'm just asking why and if it's okay if I use them or wait to see if they take them away.

any advice on what the problem could be as it happens on arc raiders as well as fortnite. i’m not sure if it’s something internal because ive tried different hdmis, reinstalled it, cleared the cache and still have no clue what could be the problem.
