Spoiler Another quest with a complete lack of any and all context

Spoilers, obviously

so the drifter goes into lotus' mind, except actually we're going to the past, and stops her forming a contract with wally. Why? why did we know to do this, what was our goal in doing so. Did the lotus previously have a wally contract? or are we just like, yknow doing our thing in preventing her from ever having made one. why does any of this matter.

After doing this, the lotus now knows how to go to tau. Why?

ok, so now we need to take the vessel to eris to do,,,, essentially an extended cutscene... why? why cant we just pilot a warframe, or railjack, or necramech, or do any other method? ok but we need moonflesh, which is a new macguffin that we had never heard of before.

This isnt a story, its a disconnected set of hype moments. Literally one line of dialogue between each of these events would fix it, but DE cant even give us that... so much time put into that clunky eris setpiece though!

Urgh, I can't believe it! DE is nerfing something potentially game-breaking?!

Grrr, it makes me so mad!

DE, how could you?! Why can't I have infinite ammo on my Kuva Zarr?!

They should give me back every resource I used on getting this ammo efficiency riven!!!

I mean it's not like I can just get 3 riven splicers and hundreds of thousands of kuva per week!

Wait a second... I know what to do...

I'm going to review bomb warframe on steam!! Haha!! That will teach those devs to not mess with the playerbase!!!

Okay, back to grinding relics for plat using my Wukong with Torid and Magistar...

Discussion Why does DE balance the game this way?

Just saw this reply on a post about the Kuva Brahma and Zarr: "Can only shoot the bramma 6 times until I run out of ammo but I can just use the latron incarnon (that has triple the riven disposition for a bonus) infinitely without worrying about ammo and do even better"

That's the reality, some stuff is crazy powerful while other stuff got nerfed for doing the same.

Discussion I find it hilarious on what was nerferd

It’s not damage numbers, not spawn killing , not broken augments that kill everything so the other 3 in your lobby are playing a tourist simulator.

Incarnons with keep their ammo and their dmg. Cyte will resupply anyways.

But the thing that broke DE was ammo. Think about it , the riven splicers used by endgame players were used in ammo efficiency soo bloody much it has to be nerfed. Does it not point to the fact that people want to play non incarnon meta weapons and they would make it work using riven splicers, kuva and an arcane. Full investment to make it work. But what do we get ? No changes to weapon dispo or change in the ammo system.

Again people play what feels fun, if ammo was so bad that you rolled a riven and gave up your arcane for it then maybe you should look at ammo in general if they want their old weapons to be played. Especially considering dispo doesn’t get updates.

I’m sure the riven systems were once to make you play weapons that weren’t as good as the meta things. If these weapons could even catch up to 70% of a burston people would use them. But now it’s simply a system to keep the incarnons on top and everything else at the bottom.

Additionally, now that they are given out veiled rivens people are unveiling rivens for weapons that are well bad to say the least and even if you wanted to make it work they have the lowest dispo imaginable. The only thing people found from the whole system was ammo for older weapons. You would think dispo would be updated but nope.

Discussion DE should use Riven Disposition instead of a blanket nerfs.

Many weapons in the game are completely tame with unlimited ammo, unlimited ammo karak is not a problem. Riven disposition should've just been lowered on the problem weapons, since that's the whole point of disposition?

Question/Request How did we get here? ... again? (spoilers inside) Spoiler

Once again I am el mucho confused with what is going on. I get the general of it.

Need to go to Tau, why? In game? No idea, only because I watch the preview for Tau I can guess it is because Albrecht is there. How do we know it in game he is there no idea. Or maybe it is go there to find hopefully someone like Adis who can heal sentients? To... heal them from dependency on flowers? To ally against Wally? Why?

But we tell Wally that they need to go to Tau as well, so we presumably know about Albrecht and finger being there? Or are we offering Wally something else as the thing they need to get there to let Lotus go from the simulated past/dream?

And what is going on with that? Let her go from what? Why was the memory of that moment? There is still no explanation about the baths too, they just magically appeared in the old peace update. When I come to the bath I see her sitting at the edge, then I play as her in the memory and we "get her" because.... she wasn't just sitting ok on the edge moments before that? Even Loid in his message said she is doing fine.

Each update I feel like I am again watching some version of LOST with all the flashbacks and flashforwards and sideflashes or what not, and it is on crack. So please DE? start your stories from chapter 1 and not like chapter 5 ? At least in mail in text? So we are not just dropped in seemingly randomly? Like come on... you could at least write a message from Lotus that she is going to dive into her past to look for alternatives on the pwoer source... Something to tie in the events?

Imagine you did the Rell quest, but instead of getting the starting message that the Ordis reads and meeting Paladino, you start right away with catching the "ghosts" with no explanation. That is how I feel these last few years with updates.

PS: I am fully expecting getting downwoted for not glazing the latest update.

Discussion So this is how the "I hate railjack" folks felt

Ran the Tau prologue, the vessel is... just, not fun at all. It's simply too slow by far to enjoy. I get that we're going for a pacific rim feeling of weight, but I feel like I'm just trudging between objectives and have no momentum.

Willing to try whatever new content they put out with them, but first impression is really quite bad.

Discussion Spliced Rivens kinda suck

Full List

Talks about nerfing Ammo Efficiency made me look back at the full list of Spliced Rivens, and honestly? Most aren't worth the investment:

  • Slam Attack Damage
    • Weaker than regular slam rivens with dmg%/cc%
      • We already have so much slam% from Seismic Wave + Nira Set
  • Heavy Attack Wind Up Speed
    • We already have so many ways to improve this stat
  • Magnetic Damage / Radiation Damage
    • There's already mods to cover both of these elements for priming
  • Melee Damage On Heavy Attack
    • A more restricted dmg% version of Pressure Point or Condition Overload
  • Parry Angle
    • Parrying is a very gimmicky setup that forces you to use an already good roll of Range + Attack Speed, and has janky around how it works
  • Reload While Holstered
    • There's dedicated mods for this stat in both Exilus slot or Companion sets
  • Weakpoint Critical Chance * A more restricted version of regular crit mods
  • Damage vs. Orokin/Scaldra/Techrot
    • Orokin banes already exist and de thinking ppl would rather use Splicers than regular banes is confusing
    • DE for some reason would rather add Scaldra/Techrot banes through a very convoluted method of splicing than just adding them to mod pools is another confusing decision.
      • IK most ppl would hardly use them anyway, but it would at least be nice for Assassination or Legacyte Harvest

DE viewing Ammo Efficiency as "just too broken" is a weird stance as it takes a dedicated setup & investment to even work, while arguably still weaker than the usual meta of nukers/incarnons.

But it also highlights how cluttered the current pool is with barely half having desirable stats.

Edit: The most important stats from spliced rivens were things previously unattainable like Gas% or Blast%, or Weakpoint Damage% with Multishot. Other good rolls like Viral, Corrosive, or Status Damage are okay, but arguably only optional for players trying to free slots or make their weapons more independent.

Question/Request Am I just stupid? I feel like the game assumes I know way more about the lore than I actually do

What is Moonflesh? Since when was Praghasa the Lotus's mother? I remember it being used to try to eat the sun at least, but nothing more about it. I didn't even know it was still around until now. I've done every single quest but I feel like Im missing 50% of the lore somehow?

So, am I stupid, or is there hidden stuff somewhere I dont know about?

Question/Request DE, if you are gonna nerf ammo efficiency rivens, at least revert the Rivens as they were pre Splicer Update

Because just a kuva and splicer refound is not gonna be enough if I have to reuse a splicer and kuva (and potientally find another riven if the spliced stat stay) to get back my old Exergis riven. I spliced it specifically because of the 100% because you greenlit it.

I understand the nerf, you could specifically target aoe weapons but I guess it's simpler to just blanket nerf, I get it.

But if I modified my riven to get 100% ammo efficiency, that again YOU GREENLIT, I should have to spend ressources to get my old riven back.

Discussion Sad Day, as I Have to Say Goodbye

This isn't a complaint about the game it's me facing some truths about who I am and I think a small part of me is hoping that there are others out there like me who have maybe found a fix for what I'm struggling with.

But earlier this year I was officially diagnosed with autism and Adhd. What this has done is forced me to step back and realize how much certain things effect my nervous system. It's effected how I treat gaming. I came to Warframe from Destiny 2. I loved it immediately. This year I noticed something when playing it. I get severe sensory overload and mental fatigue from the game. I have tried multiple things to make this less so, such as in game options that effect screen clutter. The result is still the same, I log on, I play for 20-30 minutes and before I know it I'm done. Not because i'm bored, but because my brain is feeling overload. Last night was the final straw for me and I think I've come to the realization that I have to leave this game behind. I've moved over to slower paced games like No Man's sky, and I'm finding that ARPG's like Grim Dawn and Path of Exile scratch a similar itch and don't effect my brain the same way.

This is a great community and I'm going to miss it. If there's anyone else out there like me that has found a fix for this, please let me know. But thanks for all those who have offered build advice through the years and posted things to help me learn the game.

Discussion Hey DE, what's up with boosters?

I wanna complain about the recent viability/effect of boosters, looter Frames and the retriever mods in recent updates.

When Follie came I understood it, there will be an event so most players will farm this game mode, S&O came with extra atragraph mods and there was no change to how atramentum is farmed, just go do steel path missions. I'm not complaining about the missions nor the drops, just the lack of effect in modifiers.

Narin drops, with a lot of goodies in her store and I thought "Okay, maybe Icebind will also give blueva", which was probably the original idea before the community complained about having to farm a new item just for more powerful/easy access rivens, but given that we don't live in that reality and entropic Kuva is only farmed killing Entropic Eximus in the Zariman and this follows the trend of not being affected by looter Frames, boosters and retriever mods I gotta say, I was a little dissapointed.

Now here comes an event that goes "Hey your loot boost doesn't matter, just do alerts" and I gotta say I've always defended DE but this is a little too much. Farming skins for mods took a while but that's OK, I don't want all of them. Blueva is no longer it's own resource and just became a trade token, probably affecting Icebind's rewards? Well ducks that sucks but DE was too permissive there. We're going to Tau and there's a once in a game event around farming alerts or killing enemies in Eris? I gotta say, that is a little annoying.

But that's not the worst part for me, we'll be going to Tau soon, a whole system with lots of rewards, rare loot and other goodies to farm and we have so many things to make said farm faster but is DE going to lock some resources? Is this just a "New update" thing that will go away after a content island is old enough? I don't know but I don't like the idea of this becoming a trend and while players are whining about rivens, market crash or ammo efficiency I'd rather be efficient about my time, thanks for coming to my TEDtalk there are some muffins in the back, sorry if they aren't enough for everyone.

Edit: No I didn't know boosters don't affect pity currencies, Yes I also know I don't have to empty the stores.

All in all I think MY PERSONAL COMPLAINT could be rephrased and boiled down to: Narin and the event are set drops, doesn't matter if it's a Nekros and Nova and a resourceful retriever with drop boosters, SP is the only thing making a difference-IN THE EVENT, with Narin it doesn't so I'm still standing. Also these drop from enemies, not at the end of the mission like Koumei or S&O's, or set ranges like Kullervo and Nokko, so forgive me for wanting something to affect my farming other than SP, I still have some cupcakes but now you gotta say please for them, hugs and kisses

Discussion My two cents on the state of Ammo Efficiency and Launchers

The original nerf to launchers was, by and large, to fix one major issue: Wukong AFK strategies.

It never had anything to do with people nuking rooms too easily, or their prevalence in the meta. It was entirely because clones had infinite ammo.

So, DE made two nerfs simultaneously, and even at the time it didn't make a lot of sense in how they went about it.

The first is that they gave clones ammo. This was good, and the fix that was needed. They second is that since their ammo pool is based on the summoner's, they shrank the max ammo count of these weapons to give them less to work with. That latter change was meant to insure that Wukong-clone AFKers would need to keep refreshing their clones if they wanted them to do much of anything. But, that left players themselves having to work around these reduced ammo counts. It felt bad, it still does today. And it could have all been easily fixed if clones were just given their own unique ammo pool when you have a launcher equipped.

Jump to today. That "fix" has bitten them on the ass, because the ammo efficiency on these new rivens is also affecting clones, because their stats are based on our own instead of being unique. The actual fix to give clones that fixed amount of ammo is still the answer, and yet they still seem intent on keeping these weapons miserable to work with instead. Seemingly for no particularly good reason, either.

These weapons were strong for the time. But they've since been so far outclassed by so many other frames, builds and guns at this point that insisting on continuing to limit them has progressed past a game balancing decision into this frankly bizarre realm of spitefulness, which is then further compounded by the way in which particular developers interact with the community on twitter.

But, staying on topic. To illustrate the point, here's a non-exhaustive list of things that outstrip launchers for steel path AoE murder potential, just to drive the point home:

  • Cyte-09
  • Uriel
  • Saryn
  • Dante
  • Jade
  • Hildryn
  • Khora
  • Voruna
  • Garuda
  • Lavos
  • Gara
  • Octavia
  • Xaku
  • Many flavours of Titania
  • Bassocyst
  • Tenet Arca Plasmor
  • Tenet Glaxion
  • Kuva Nukor
  • Ocucor
  • Xoris, Glaive Prime, Coda Pathocyst, etc.
  • Sampotes Heavy Slam
  • Acid Rounds Sobek
  • Any popular incarnon
  • God damn thermal sunder
  • And many, many, many more

None of these require any serious setup. Hell, the melee weapons don't have any kind of energy or ammo cost to work around, but they're allowed to exist and work as they are. So, why aren't launchers? Please DE, just fix clones properly and give us back our boom.

Discussion Does anyone else here not enjoy using abilities and shield gating?

I'm having a bit of a player crisis right now lmao.

I've always enjoyed weapons more than abilities in warframe, has been that way since I started, so naturally I tend to lean towards gun buffers. I discovered Revenant a year or two ago and ever since, I pretty much cant play anything else without just getting frustrated.

I've tried really hard to learn shield gating and all that experience has done is just reinforce the fact that I find paying attention in this game to be quite hard, and honestly, really draining. I play this game to chill out after work and having to pay attention to my shields and keep ontop of pressing pillage subsume / abilities on time with gain shield on cast just takes it out of me.

The issue is, I'm so bored of revenant. He is my default but I want something fresh to sink my teeth into. Id love to hear if anyone else plays like me, and what they do to circumvent the inevitable feeling of feeling like you're missing out based on your playstyle.

As a quick sidenote to my discussion, does anyone have any suggestions for braindead tanky gun platforms that dont rely on keeping up with whats going on? , I only really know of rev as a "TRUE" brain off gun platform with his mesmer + damage buff subsume build, but I'd love other options that can firm it in mid level steel path, not looking for any level cap stuff as I get too bored of a run to get there, but anything up to level 450-500 is where i typically get to, what can be a gun platform and tank that level of damage?

Discussion Remind me why we have to go to Tau again?

I was thinking about this earlier today because of the event but I actually couldn’t remember. Don’t have time right to replay the quests.

What I do know is that we’re trying to get to Albrect and that he’s somehow key to defeating the Indifference.

Is there anything else or is that basically it?

Discussion If Ammo Efficiency doesn't stack with Crux anymore, it should at least be able to roll higher values on its own

Considering that we have a primed mod for magazine size increase for primaries and arcane pistoleer for secondaries, rolling low twenties efficiency values seems like a bad joke; especially if we consider the Kuva and splicer cost.

Discussion What taubound-exclusive items are you going for?

We all want the tauforged archon shards, the legendary core, and a good number of the arcanes.

So, what are the items that are unique to taubound you're going for?

I've already bought the Neolyst Natah Floof and am undecided about the Moon Killer Honoria.

Discussion Too little Kuva in the new Operation?

Big thumbs up for the event so far, but with DE focusing on rivens again and with the increasing costs of rolling with stat locking, it seems a bit tame to only include 2,000x25 kuva from Praghasa. And it doesn’t seem like the vendor wares will refresh before the event is over.

I for one would have loved to use this as an opportunity to grind up my riven reserves (which are basically empty atm)

Discussion Does the general majority of the fanbase like or dislike the protoframes?

• Upvotes

I was inactive on the game for a pretty long time (5+ years maybe?) and I recently have been playing more often on a new account. I've seen very mixed reactions regarding the protoframes and I'm curious if there's a prevailing side.

I personally don't really like them. One reason is that I feel like they (and some of the concepts that came with them) might have shifted the focus of the game's central narrative. I'm not too well-versed in their lore though.

Question/Request So does this set actually unlock through "community progress" In the event or Is this clan based?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Dumb question probably but figured I should ask while I am farming moonflesh, since I noticed my clan's name appearing on the shop menu :P
