Problem/Goal:
I genuinely don't know how to flirt with a girl I'm actually interested in. 💀 I can hold conversations, make jokes, and talk about random things, but when it comes to showing romantic interest, I suddenly have zero game.
I want to get closer to this girl naturally, tease her a little, and introduce some flirting into our conversations without coming on too strong. At the same time, I don't want to stay in the talking stage forever just because I'm too scared to make a move.
For the WLWs here, especially those who've been in a similar situation:
- How do you flirt with a girl over chat without making it feel forced?
- How can you tell if she's flirting back or just being friendly?
- How do you keep conversations going without feeling like you're the only one making an effort?
- What are some subtle ways to show interest and test the waters without making things awkward?
- How do you get closer to a girl when you don't get to see each other in person?
I'm not trying to rush into a relationship with her. I just want to get to know her again, see where things go, and hopefully have the courage to flirt a little instead of overthinking every interaction. 😭
Context:
Hi! I'm 20, bisexual, and currently in college under an online learning setup. I'm also an academic achiever, which is honestly what most people who aren't close to me tend to associate me with. I have a few admirers who've expressed interest in me, and they're genuinely good-looking and decent people, but I just can't seem to feel the same way about them. It's not that there's anything wrong with them; the attraction just isn't there. I hope you get what I mean. 😭
I've been single for five years, although I did have a complicated situation with a former best friend that I didn't fully understand until we had a massive falling-out.
Anyway, there's this girl I like. She's bisexual too, and we go to different colleges. We knew each other back in high school and had a bit of a history, but we weren't particularly close for a long time. Recently, we've started talking again, and I've been trying to figure out how to get closer to her without making things weird.
We've only been talking for around four days, but our first conversation lasted over six hours because I was really drunk and apparently very chatty. 😭 Our second conversation lasted almost two and a half hours. We talked about school, our experiences, random interests, and other things. We even joked around about the languages we're learning.
Lately, though, our conversations haven't been as long. Sometimes I send her something to start a conversation, and she'll respond, but I'm not always sure where to take it from there. I can't tell whether she's genuinely interested in talking to me or is simply being friendly. I don't want to assume anything just because we can talk for hours.
I'm also worried about coming on too strong. I want to show interest without making her uncomfortable or putting pressure on her, especially since we're still reconnecting.
Please be nice. I'm genuinely asking because I feel like I have absolutely zero game when it comes to girls I actually like HAHHAHAHAHA
