Body Senstive Trigger Warning I think I went too small? 6 weeks post op NSFW

Hi everyone,

I’m 6 weeks post op and just feeling a bit sad?frustrated? Happy? I’m happy I did the surgery but I’m struggling with feeling feminine. I showed my surgeon my inspiration during our consultation and she said show me that photo again before we go into surgery.

I was previously a size g/h size and I wanted a large C/ small D. I was so anxious before surgery that I completely forgot to show her my inspo photo. I’m about 5ft tall so I think they are proportionate to me? I don’t know I’m just waiting for them to drop and fluff

Ugh idk!! Has anyone gone through this? I’m just having a ton of mix feelings

Medical Question (Ask medical professionals first!!) Nipple blood flow NSFW

Hiii all.

First I want to say I am in contact with my surgeon and his team. I have sent them pics and they gave me instructions to keep the area clean and apply Vaseline + cover. Confirmed it is blood flow challenges.

I am 14dpo and a little worried about my left nipple. My anxiety says I will lose her but I am hopeful. 😔

Both of my nipples have always been large and plump. Post surgery my right nipple has been fine. Looks good and I have sensation. My left nipple looked a bit bruised, and that’s what my doc said at my first post op.

Two days ago I noticed that my left nipple was dry af and kinda flat. When I removed my ace bandage I noticed blood, some discharge, and peeling scab.

I’m just a little nervous that things will go south. I know it’s really early and I am not being shy about messaging my surgeon and if things look worse I will ask for an in person meeting.

I guess I’m just posting with hopes that others have had a similar experience and their nipple was fine.

Random things: I feel pings of pain in my left nip sometimes. I have been trying to be topless for like a hour or so to let me nip breathe and fully extend. It does take a minute but my left nip does plump up. I think my areola also has some dark spots, maybe struggling with blood flow too.

Last photo is of right nipple for comparison.

I’m now 5wpo and for the past two weeks my side scars have been very red and irritated and uncomfortable. Only the side ones, so i’m thinking maybe this is something of my doing? Maybe i’m doing something thats causing friction in that area ? Or is it just part of the normal healing process ?
First picture is to show how different the inside incision looks compared to the side ones in term of color.
I’ve been on kelocote silicone gel for a little less than a week now, i dont think its been helping that much tho it hasnt been that long.

Advice (NO MEDICAL ADVICE) I finally have a date, but im having second thoughts NSFW

Basically, what the title says. I have finally received a date, which is early next year. I don't hate my boobs. I actually love them and their shape. They often fluctuate as I gain weight. (As most do). I started my reduction process when I was feeling my biggest (36DDD). I was only able to wear minimizer bras without feeling top-heavy (still do). Wearing push-up or regular bras makes me feel super matronly, especially because I have a short torso. But I've learned to just adapt to them since then, and now as the date is getting closer, I'm kind of scared. I do not want to see myself with scars, especially after knowing how they looked before. I don't want to regret or take for granted my boobs I've always had and learned to love. But being able to wear dresses and specific clothing without a bra would be so nice. i guess I'm torn. If I did reduce them i guess it would be more so for the lift factor of it all. Knowing they will grow back eventually, I assume i would want them to just grow back, but with a more lifted shape. I know i sound kind of babbly here, but I just am having second thoughts.

PreOp Question (no before only photos) Extended incision for side boob NSFW

Hi! My surgeon told me that I have lots of auxiliary tissue, aka side boob. She said she will likely extend the incision further along my sides to remove as much of this tissue as possible. Has anybody experienced this? Surgeon is a reduction specialist and I trust her completely. I'd just like to hear first hand experience!

Advice (NO MEDICAL ADVICE) 3DPO and dejected NSFW

• Upvotes

3 or 4 days post op. feeling dejected and have regrets about all of this!I know this is pretty standard from some of the posts on this sub, but wow i was not expecting this at all. I'm bloated, everything is just uncomfortable, and generally regretting the surgery i spent years working towards. The pain took a while to manage. I keep hoping I'll wake up from a nap and feel magically like myself.

How long did you feel like this?

This week I found out I have moderate to severe spinal stenosis in my lumbar. I have always had a larger bust and am currently about a 38L. Does anyone else have spinal stenosis? I’m trying to figure out where/when I got it. I’m 35 and apparently young to have this.

Before & After Anyone get implants after reduction? NSFW

I know im still too early to tell. Im 3 weeks today BUT im considering implants already. I was a 36H. Doc asked what i wanted. I said D. The problem is, after having giant boobs for so long i didnt really know what normal cup sizes looked like. I wish I would have thought to show him pics. Either way, we are here now and I wonder if anyone has gotten implants after being unsatisfied with how small you were.

Shoutout to my surgeon forreal. I was anxious in the week leading up that I'd go under the knife and wake to them the same size or not as small as I was hoping (I'm a Black nonbinary woman, so it's a lot to do with gender for me as well) but they're the exact size I was hoping for!! I'm still pretty swollen so I don't know my exact size yet, but I asked for a B-cup and they look like B-cups! Yayyy :3

1&2 preop

5.6&7 1WPO
I had sooo many emotions leading up to my surgery. I had a big breakdown the day before. I did a nude photoshoot to honor my boobies and it sent me into a spiral bc for the first time in maybe forever I felt my boobs were beautiful. So I was like omg and now I’m getting rid of them!? But ya know how breakup sex is the best? It’s our brain starting to grieve. It’s a body you’ve known forever.
I thought I was going to be more shocked seeing them for the first time but it still felt like my body. I feel so lucky!! They’re a bit smaller than I expected but 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think I’d rather that than wish they were smaller. and I feel like the left one is a bit bigger? But choosing to trust the process and “drop and fluff”. I’m so curious for how it’ll all turn out!
I’m still so sore and bloated. Why does nobody tell you about the constipation??

Learn from my mistakes though: don’t over do it. I felt way better physically than I expected after. I ended up doing toooo much and I was sore and in pain. Did too much day of op i literally threw up multiple times. Im still prob doing more than I should be (aka cooking). Take it slow!

Advice (NO MEDICAL ADVICE) Feeling dejected NSFW

Hi y'all, I've been wanting a breast reduction for years now and finally took the plunge, had a consult with an in-network plastic surgeon. I was disheartened that he wants me to lose 15-20lbs before he's comfortable submitting to insurance. He cited the Schnur Scale thing, and said though my breasts were dense, he'd be more comfortable submitting to insurance if I dropped the weight so he'd be comfy in the grams removal margins and insurance wouldn't fuss.

I'm already pretty fit and have a lot of muscle, I play sports and work out. I'm trying to cut calories but am hungry and it's impacting my energy levels. The reduction is $20k self-pay which I'd have to finance. I really like this guy's results and am somewhat picky, because I'm looking to go from ~ 36H to a B-cup (really as small as we can get them). I'm also nonbinary and the huge boobs cause a lot of gender dysphoria, but he said unless I wanted to do full top surgery, insurance wouldn't cover it.

Any advice? I'm staring down the barrel of a rough few months trying to lose that weight, and potential losses with muscle and stamina. But this surgery would change my life!

Recovery/PostOp Breast pain post reduction AND hematoma removal experience NSFW

Hello all, 8 weeks post op here. Best decision I've ever made in my life, even with all of the complications. I had a hematoma appear within a few hours of my initial surgery that resulted in an emergency surgery the next morning, causing extra trauma to my left breast. Now 8 weeks later, things are healing, and I've been back at work for about 2 weeks now, and my GOD the pain is almost unbearable. Only my left breast throbs a few hours after I start working, and the pain only goes away when I press very hard with my hand and hold the whole thing in place. Both the doctor and the office told me it's probably not a big deal but they'll still see me, but I haven't gotten an appointment yet. I'm just so frustrated because now that an issue is here, all communication is getting so much more sparse, and the invalidation of my pain is only making things worse. I'm wondering if anyone has had a complicated healing experience, and has any words of encouragement or advice. Like i said, I don't regret any of this, but this part of the process is incredibly challenging.

Advice (NO MEDICAL ADVICE) 3.5 MPO extreme soreness on one side NSFW

Hi!! I am about 3.5MPO and have generally healed well/didn’t have any major complications. My right boob did have one popped stitch that has been bothering me off and on but it hasn’t poked through the skin so my surgeon wasn’t really able to do anything and says my healing is still looking good.

In that boob I’m having pretty much constant soreness along my lower incision line. It feels sort of bruised and sensitive and hurts literally all the time regardless of what I’m doing/wearing but it’s been all the time for around a month and a half.

Has anyone else had this? I kind of thought i would be reaching the end of my major soreness by this point! It’s also stressing me out that it’s just the one side, but there’s no obvious issues on the outside of my boob so I’m not sure what to think.

Anyone else still very sore by this point? Would love to hear some other experiences

Advice (NO MEDICAL ADVICE) Pain question NSFW

This is kind of weird but did anyone have a pain start in their butt because of the sudden back sleeping? It feels kind of like a pulled muscle or when you get a stiff neck from sleeping in an odd position but in one butt cheek.

It’s probably the most annoying thing right now. I think I’m going to call the doctor to see if they have any tips but wanted to check here too.

Revision Crazy for wanting revision? NSFW

Post image
29 Upvotes

It’s been just over a year from my initial reduction surgery and overall I am SO happy with the results, but since the beginning I always thought that the right breast (shown as left in this mirror pic) was noticeably larger than the other. I figured it was swelling for the longest time especially because I had a hard time with the healing on that side, but after a year I think they are just uneven. My surgeon even admitted that he thinks he overcorrected on this side because the left was larger before…

when I recently went back, he seemed to think that there wasn’t a huge difference and that the nipples were even but are we even looking at the same thing? He said he wasn’t sure if he would even be taking out that much if he did the revision but said he would do it. I notice a difference when I wear certain tops and swimsuits but no one has noticed it unless I specifically ask them about it…

Basically I’m wondering if I’m crazy to think that they are noticeably uneven and if it’s a terrible idea to get a revision just on the right side… if I never get the revision I would be OKAY but if I can get it right, I’d like to…

Edited to add this: i also think it sticks out more on that side and has a lot more volume on the side

Product Recommendation Los Angeles post-op products to give away! NSFW

Hello brave souls!

I am 3mo PO and have a few gently used items that I found really helpful in my initial recovery - would love to pass them to the next person who is going through this transformation! I’m in Los Angeles.

I have:
3 button-up nightgowns: 2 rayon, 1 viscose/polyester, size medium. These were essential - wore them to the hospital and for about a month after until I could lift my arms.

3 front closure post-surgical bras, sizes medium / 34 C/D. After my surgeon cleared me from compression (which was 6 weeks for me) I wore these for another month. I found the front closure helpful. The ones with wider bands around were most comfortable on the healing scars. Brands: Amoena and AnaOno.

3 cotton fruit-of-the-loom front closure bras. These ran a bit small for me newly 32/34 D cups, but if you go smaller they’d be fine.

1 mastectomy pillow with snap. This was essential for driving, even as a passenger, as it provided a seatbelt barrier. I also wore this to read in bed to provide a cushion between me and my cat and to rest my book on. Also just good to have something to hug.

Would prefer to give to someone who wants the whole package - completely free, would be great if you can pick up. I’m located in Highland Park. If you are interested leave a comment please!

Good luck out there everyone!

I have hated my chest for about 75% of intimated things. I always wished they looked different. I am starting to worry about regretting my reduction and hating them even more. I also get compliments about how they currently are and I’m afraid id lose that attention idk. Any helpful words you can give me? I know I need to do this for me and no one else but it’s hard not to think of whoever I’m with in the future and ofc feeling my best and most confident. I’m not really sure what that looks like though. I just know that everyday I wake up hating my boobs 🫩

Recovery/PostOp 7WPO T Junction NSFW

Thumbnail

I just hit 7WPO today and of course it is in the late night that I notice something. 🙄 I was told I got the all clear to resume normal activities. But perhaps my normal and others normal are different. I thought all my incisions had healed, both my t junctions looked great early on. Last week I developed a seroma on my left t junction. Did some research and was like "no big deal, keep it clean and dry". Tonight as I was readjusting I noticed some discharge and of course this sucker opened at night at 7 weeks. 😭

I've already sent a message to my surgeon and I'll likely call when they open. But to stop myself from spiraling has anyone ever dealt with this so late in recovery? I felt like I was finally getting back to normal and getting my life back in order!

Advice (NO MEDICAL ADVICE) Unsure whether I should go through with reduction & would love some advice NSFW

CORRECTION headline: sorry, I meant second reduction (revision)

Hello everyone,

I (41F) am 1.5 years out from my "reduction" (April) 2025 and am currently in the midst of deciding whether I should go through with the revision my surgeon has offered me.

I say "reduction" because he only took out 80 grams, despite me having communicated my wishes of having a lighter, less voluminous chest (next to the obvious lift) - I wanted to be able to wear cute, braless tops / dresses, to shop for bras easily and to simply wear a tight(ish) shirt without people staring at my chest.

While my size did go down about half a cup size (from an 75/80E - I had wanted a C cup, but fit into some of my old bras), it still feels quite "full" to me and I still don't feel comfortable or able to do all the things mentioned above.

I do think that my surgeon did a beautiful job aesthetically speaking, it just wasn't what I wanted, and it took him quite a while to admit that it wasn't what we had discussed - according to him, it was "proportionate", and lots of women paid money to have breasts my size (WTF?). He didn't see the issue at all, and initially completely dismissed my feelings when I was incredibly disappointed and also somewhat depressed after the first surgery.

Now that he has finally agreed to do a revision, I will still have to pay the hospital fees again. It's quite a bit of money, but nowhere near as expensive as doing a revision with another surgeon (which I couldn't afford). However, I am starting to wonder whether I should entrust my body to the same person who didn't listen the first time around, and who hasn't been great at communicating throughout the whole process. What if he takes away too much this time?

At the same time, I am also doubting myself - should I go through with a revision and the whole healing process again, risking potential complications, or just try to be happy with the results?

I know body dysmorphia is not uncommon after this surgery; am I crazy for thinking that I've still got a large chest? I have always been more of a tomboy & and never wanted to be the girl with big boobs that I suddenly became at age 13.. and while I have definitely grown into my feminine side too, I still hate the feeling and the stares that I get when I wear tighter clothes.

I also know that menopause is around the corner, and the thought of my breasts growing even more is agonizing to me.

I would really appreciate some advice or if someone shared their experiences with a revision - thank you so much!! 💜

P.S. I have included my before, my goal pic and my afters (1.5 YPO)
