All Gelous products except the gold and glitter. In honor of the absolutely SMASHING Tim Curry. Sorry they're not the best pics, my lighting hates me.

This is my third attempt at acrylic French and ombré. I feel like my ombré is getting worse and my French is getting better. Excuse the random shapes, I’m in nail school and my tutor suggested I play around with doing different shapes that I haven’t tried yet.
It’s my first time getting Gel X and so far they feel very solid!! This Halloween set turned out so cute!

In the last year, I have had 8 patients that developed allergies to tooth colored (composite) fillings due to gel nails. This means that cannot get tooth colored fillings or tolerate most of the most efficient ‘cements’ for veneers or crowns. The only solution is changing out tooth colored fillings for metal. That means silver fillings. (I am oversimplifying terms so those unfamiliar with dentistry understand).
So how does this happen?
If gel polish touches your skin enough times or for long enough, your body flags it as invasive. Our bodies then elicit an immune response against the foreign invader. Think of an army of immune cells fighting that gel polish. Here’s the thing: immune cells have memory. So the first time they attack the gel, they send a small army in and you may not notice. But they tell their buddies back home. After the third, fourth, 100th time, they have a full army that now attacks anything in the body that looks similar. This is a heavily simplified analogy but I don’t think it’s something that is explained to people well enough.
So consider this, when you get gel polish. You may never be able to get tooth colored fillings or veneers again.
So what do you do if you still want gel nails?
Find someone who is talented enough to not get it on your skin.
Dont push back or cut your cuticles the same day
If there is any bleeding, dont do gel
These are recommendations from the American dental Associationb.

Went to this salon for the second time, also my second time getting builder gel. I told the tech I wanted builder gel. I sat down for my pedicure first and she started to soak off the old builder gel while she worked on my toes. I thought it was odd but it's only my second time getting builder, I didn't know. After she files and shapes my nails, she puts down the base then moves to get the polish. I again asked about the builder and she looks surprised, says something to her coworkers (I couldn't understand what they were saying but I heard "builder gel" said several times) then removes the base coat she put on. I sat there feeling dumb with the acetone foils on for awhile. (I always feel like I'm somehow doing the salon incorrectly, like I am always not asking for the right thing.)
Another tech takes over, files my nails down again, starts putting on the builder gel, and by that point my already weak nails are filed so thin that the UV light fucking BURNED SO BADLY. I starting tearing up because it hurt and also I was still feeling stupid, and I couldn't even wipe my tears away because she's working on my hands. She asked me about 12 times if I was okay and someone else brought over a box of tissues. People definitely noticed a grown woman crying while getting her nails done. I love the manicure I ended up with but now I'm mortified at the idea of going back in a few weeks for a fill.
Edit: not sure why this post reads as me not liking builder gel manicures, I loved my first one and I do actually love the results of this one. It's actually what was recommended to me last time I posted here actually asking for advice on what to get. The whole problem was caused by the first inept tech not knowing how to do builder gel and completely ignoring that I wanted it done.

It is amazing to me how this is one set of nails. Each clip is the same set, but they look like they're all different. Amazing what a little chrome does with some cat eye. I don't know which way I like them best!
