Skin type: Combination — dry cheeks and oily T-zone
Main concerns: Hyperpigmentation and uneven texture
Climate: Central Mexico, with mild temperatures, rainy summers, and drier winters.
I really wanted to do one of these again since the community responded really well to my last post talking about my empties. I’ve been saving these bottles and tubs for close to a year! It almost feels like a milestone to be sharing another year worth of skincare opinions with my fellow aficionados. If you have any questions about any of the pictured products, please ask me!

Toners and Essences
PURCELL L-Glutathione Vitamin Boosting Toner
A toner with an awful smell but a surprisingly nice brightening effect. I've used it consistently for about five months and have noticed an improvement in my sun-induced hyperpigmentation, particularly around my cheekbones. The sulfurous smell is quite unpleasant, but thankfully it dissipates quickly, and I've grown used to it.
5/5 — HG
IOPE Bio Conditioning Essence
A lightweight, watery essence that isn't particularly hydrating. It's difficult to judge whether its effects are as miraculous as the brand claims. I bought a couple of sample bottles and enjoyed using them, but wasn't especially impressed. I certainly wouldn't splurge on the full size.
3/5 — WNR
Abib Heartleaf Calming Toner Skin Booster
I picked this up for just three dollars at Marshalls and was pleasantly surprised. It has a slightly thick, glycerin-rich texture that my skin drinks up, leaving it nicely prepped for the rest of my routine. There's a fresh, pleasant scent that doesn't linger. My skin isn't particularly reactive, so I can't speak to its soothing properties, but it's definitely hydrating. At that price, it was an absolute steal.
5/5 — WRP
Hanyul Pure Artemisia Calming pH-Balancing Toner
A refreshing toner that I admittedly bought partly for its packaging. I enjoyed using it, particularly on warmer spring days when I wanted something lightweight, but I've realized I prefer richer, glycerin-heavy formulations. Pleasant enough, just not particularly memorable.

Innisfree Black Tea Youth Enhancing Treatment Essence
This essence genuinely impressed me. My complexion looked more even and noticeably dewier while using it, especially when paired with PURCELL's glutathione serum. In fact, I don't think my skin has ever looked better! Of course, other factors may have contributed, but I was extremely pleased with the results.
5/5 — HG (If only it weren't so expensive!)
Serums and Fluids
Rovectin Vita Brightening Dark Spot Serum
A lightweight serum that glides effortlessly over the skin and leaves a lovely dewy finish. I've finished two bottles and noticed a visible improvement in my complexion. Unfortunately, it has that dreaded hot dog water smell, although the results make up for it.
4/5 — WRP
Sungboon Editor Green Tomato Pore Lifting Ampoule
I bought this on James Welsh's recommendation, as I generally trust his judgment, but this time I couldn't quite see what he liked about it. The serum has a lightweight, slightly tacky texture and a fresh scent. It applies easily, but wasn't as hydrating as I'd hoped.
I wasn't expecting miracles, just a modest improvement in the appearance of my pores and perhaps a dewier finish. Unfortunately, I noticed neither. I bought a two-pack and used both bottles, feeling underwhelmed throughout.
2/5 — WNR
IOPE Stem III Softener
A watery, serum-like product that absorbs quickly and has the luxurious fragrance I associate with IOPE's more expensive skincare. I'm not convinced it made a noticeable difference to my skin, but I did enjoy the experience of using such a fancy-looking product every night.

Hanyul Pure Artemisia Calming pH-Balancing Fluid
I enjoyed this considerably more than the toner. Its lightweight, serum-like consistency was perfect for warmer days when I wanted hydration without a heavy moisturizer. It struck a nice balance between feeling barely there and keeping my skin comfortably hydrated.
Unfortunately, the pump is a damn nightmare: stiff, difficult to operate, and increasingly frustrating as the bottle empties. Eventually, I had to store it upside down and unscrew the cap to get the remaining product out.

Slowpure Hydration Texture Serum
This came as a free gift with my YesStyle order. It's a pleasant, straightforward hydrating serum, but nothing particularly special. It provides an extra layer of moisture without offering much beyond that.
3/5 — MRP (At the right price.)
PURCELL 5% L-Glutathione Flexible Liposome Serum
What a fantastic serum for pigmentation concerns! It gives my skin an immediate glow, but the real appeal is the improvement I've noticed over time. My complexion looks brighter and more even after consistent use.
The smell is absolutely horrific, though thankfully it disappears once I finish my routine and apply moisturizer. Given the results, I'm more than willing to overlook it.

Sunscreens
House of Hur Weightless Sun Fluid
A lovely, lightweight sunscreen with a matte finish. It can pill slightly if I rub my face, but otherwise applies beautifully without a noticeable white cast. Reapplication is particularly easy because neither my face nor my fingers feel greasy afterward. The packaging is adorable, too.
5/5 — HG
Celimax Oil Control Mattifying Sun Stick SPF50+ PA++++
An okayish sunscreen stick that feels slightly greasier than others I've tried. I suspect it contributed to some breakouts, and the finish wasn't particularly flattering unless I blended it in carefully. The packaging also becomes discolored over time, making it look rather shabby.
2/5 — WNR
MEDIPEEL Peptide 9 Bio Sun Stick Pro
A really nice sunscreen stick with a lightweight, non-greasy finish. Despite how comfortable it feels, there's still a reassuring sense of having something protective on my skin. The packaging is particularly satisfying to use and has a luxurious feel. I felt fancy every time I pulled it out of my bag.

Cleansers
Celimax Derma Nature Fresh Blackhead Jojoba Cleansing Oil
An affordable cleansing oil with a thin, fluid texture that makes it easy to spread, massage, and emulsify. Unlike some cleansing oils, the scent is quite pleasant; I've actually grown fond of it. It has never caused any irritation or breakouts.
My only complaint is the pump, which dispenses far too much product. I eventually replaced it with the pump from my old cleansing oil to avoid wasting product with every use.
5/5 — HG
WHIPPED Jojovender B5 Vegan Pack Cleanser
A wonderful, non-stripping cleanser that leaves my face feeling soft and hydrated. A small amount lathers beautifully, and it can also be applied as a mask for a more intensive treatment.
The fragrance is lovely but fairly strong, so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone sensitive to scented products. My main gripe is the packaging: the thick, whipped texture makes it difficult to squeeze out, and things can get messy. I suspect a tub would be more practical than a tube.
4/5 — WRP
Zero Pore Blackhead Deep Cleansing Oil
I received this as a freebie from YesStyle. Compared with the Celimax oil, it has a thicker consistency and a scent that reminds me of household cleaning products—not particularly appealing. It didn't cause any breakouts, but I never really warmed to it.

ma:nyo Pure & Deep Cleansing Foam
A lovely foam cleanser that lasts ages because a tiny amount produces an impressive amount of lather. Round Lab's Dokdo cleanser still has a slight edge for me, as its foam feels softer and more cloud-like.
Nevertheless, the ma:nyo cleanser was gentle, easy to rinse off, and left my skin feeling clean without being stripped. The fragrance was also mild and unobtrusive.

Creams and Moisturizers
Centellian24 Madeca Cream Time Reverse
A lovely moisturizer with a slightly richer consistency than most creams I've tried. Its herbal fragrance is one of my absolute favorites. A small amount applied before bed left my skin incredibly soft by morning, without causing congestion or breakouts.
5/5 — HG
Laneige Water Sleeping Mask EX
I received a sample-sized tub a few months ago and enjoyed it immensely. It has a thick, refreshing gel texture that leaves my skin feeling comfortably hydrated and protected overnight.
I noticed improvements in both hydration and the feeling of suppleness, which surprised me given how lightweight the formula feels. I'm 27, but I can imagine it appealing to more mature skin types as well.
5/5 — WRP (If only it were cheaper!)
Sungboon Editor Deep Collagen Retinol Power Boosting Capsule Cream
A capsule cream marketed for improving brightness and elasticity. I enjoyed mixing the capsules and gel on the back of my hand, experimenting with the proportions to adjust the final texture.
Unfortunately, my skin didn't seem to tolerate it. I experienced breakouts almost every time I used it. I don't necessarily blame the retinol, since I already use tretinoin regularly, but something about this formulation clearly didn't agree with me.
1/5 — WNR
Purito Mighty Bamboo Panthenol Cream
A surprisingly hydrating, lightweight moisturizer that's wonderfully fuss-free. It leaves my skin looking dewy without feeling heavy or greasy throughout the day.
I used it both morning and night with excellent results. I can definitely understand the hype surrounding this cream, and I'd happily recommend it to fellow combination-skin types.
5/5 — HG
IOPE Stem III Emulsion
A lightweight emulsion with the luxurious fragrance typical of Amorepacific products. It provides a nice boost of hydration, although the finish feels slightly too greasy for my liking.
I appreciate the elegant glass bottle and pump, but getting the last few milliliters out is unnecessarily difficult.
3/5 — MRP
Dr. Jart+ Cicapair So Soothing Treatment
An excellent ointment-like moisturizer marketed for its soothing properties. Admittedly, plain Vaseline might have produced a similar effect, but I can't deny that my skin looked particularly fresh and rested whenever I used it as an overnight mask.
The scent is pleasant, and I liked the applicator. I believe it's intended more as an intensive treatment than an everyday moisturizer.
Like many Dr. Jart+ products, it's rather expensive for my budget. I found mine at Marshalls for ten dollars, which made it much more appealing. I'm not sure whether this particular product is still widely available, although the brand offers similar treatments.
4/5 — MRP
Torriden Dive-In Cream
A dependable moisturizer that strikes a good balance between everyday lightness and sufficient moisture retention. The texture isn't my favorite, but it's perfectly serviceable, and I appreciate the absence of fragrance.
Nothing groundbreaking, but a solid option.
