I'M REQUESTING Help me prank my fiance.

Him and I have deemed Mondays “movie Mondays” and we take turns picking out movies to watch. My pick is coming up, and I wanna mess with him.

What’s a movie that’s super bizarre, or so bad it’s funny?

I'M REQUESTING Any movies without romance plots?

Lately, I often find romance subplots distracting, so I'm looking for movie recommendations that don't have any romance in them.

Alternatively, the kind of romance I do like is the unhinged, disturbing kind with an impossible age gap, like in American Beauty or Leon.

I'M REQUESTING Revenge Time!

I know I'm casting a pretty wide net with this one, but hey, why not:

I'm looking for movies where some calm, reserved characters display unstoppable force against someone who's wronged them.

For reference, think "Now youse can't leave" from A Bronx Tale, or "I need your clothes, your boots, and your motorcycle" from Terminator 2.

I've seen a lot of movies, so the more obscure, the better.

That's pretty much the size of it. Go nuts!

And of course, thanks.

I'M REQUESTING Need recommendations for fucked up horror movies that are actually good.

• Upvotes

Every year for the entirety of October my friends and I watch one horror movie every night. There was a point where it was just four of us, and we could actually handle all of that. We have three new people who are squeamish, and (with their consent) I am looking for a film more disturbing than Terrifier 3, which is about a 7/10 on the disturbing scale in my own opinion.

Thing is, I don't want shock horror that just exists to be shock horror. I'm looking for movies about an 8+/10 on the scale of disturbing that are generally considered to be good by the community. These are the fucked up movies we've already done over the years:

2023: House of 1000 Corpses, What Josiah Saw, Antichrist, Tusk, Eden Lake

2024: May, Visitor Q, Grotesque, Would You Rather, Creep, Creep 2, Midori, Cabin Fever 2

2025: The Greasy Strangler, Suspiria

2026 (so far): The Sound of Summer, Bone Tomahawk, The Borderlands, Terrifier 2, Terrifier 3, Hereditary

A coworker suggested Inside but said that's about a 7 on the scale as well. Other than that, I'm clueless. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

I'M REQUESTING Entertaining action packed crime/thriller movies

Movies like the dark knight, city of god, mission impossible, the departed, sin city.

They have to capture your attention, be unique enough, I don't mind how old it is, city of God is grimey and it captures your attention and keeps you hooked in a way most movies don't nowadays, and constantly has new stuff happening, and like in all these movies, you have moments of humanity and emotion and moments of pure action. plus I love the unique style of movies like sin city.

Any recomendations will be appreciated

I'M REQUESTING Movie with Romanticist Vibes

I’m looking for a movie that captures the totalizing sublime drama of 19th century romantic and classical art and music. Think Boullee, Schubert, Keats, Vivaldi etc. Maybe something in the family of Portrait of a Lady on Fire. TIA!

I'M REQUESTING Entertaining aquatic humanoid films

I watched quite a bit of aquatic humanoid media lately & I want to find more. The creatures can be mermaid, merman, ningyo, rusalka, water nymph, fish people, selkie, siren, basically any aquatic humanoid. I'd like to know what type of creature a movie has unless it's a spoiler or it's in the title. I'm fine with any genre. Please avoid recommending anything with excessive gore, sexual violence is fine just give me a heads up, I don't want unpleasant surprises. I don't care, if the movie's bad as long as it's entertaining.

Things I've seen:
- Cold Skin (2017)
- Lady in the Water (2006)
- The Shape of Water (2017)
- Underwater (2020)
- Dagon (2001)
- Ponyo (2008)
- Selkie (2000)
- 13th Year (1999)
- Creature from the Black Lagoon
- The Lure (2015)
- Amphibian Man (1962)
- Spring (2014)
- Evolution (2015)
- Swamp Thing
- Man Fish (2022)
- She Creature (2001)
- Mermaid's Isle (2020)
- Splash! (1984)
- Mermaids (2003)
- The Little Mermaid (1968, 1975, 1989)
- A Mermaid's Tale (2017)

I'M REQUESTING Horror movies set at a funfair, theatre, circus or similar

I'm looking for colorful lights, freakish costumes, entertainment. Or people who first witness fake horrors, then experience actual horrors. Films like "House of 1000 Corpses", "Theatre Bizarre" or "Hostel 2"

I'M REQUESTING Lookin for deep movies about life and/or the self

I'm into movies where the entire setting revolves around life or the main character themselves does something deep regarding life itself or the human heart itself

Some examples I like are Gattaca, Dead Poet's Society, Good Will Hunting, Green Book, Hunger Games, Edward Scissorhands and Pursuit of Happyness

I want to get into Fight Club, but just need to wait for it to go on discount haha, what do you guys recommend for a film that makes you feel different after you're done with a different, more positive, calming but with a burning desire to take life on in a different way?

I'M REQUESTING Looking for horror mystery movies or series (or games) with isolated towns, islands or mysterious labs.

Hello guys. I'm looking for some good horror mystery movies or TV series with a certain kind of atmosphere. Something set in a small, isolated town, an island or a remote scientific research facility, etc. where strange things start happening, people discover something terrifying, and the mystery slowly unfolds. I really like stories where people are trapped or cut off from the outside world and have to figure out what's going on. It could be some unknown creature, a supernatural phenomenon, a mysterious organism or something else entirely. Some of the stuff I've watched:

Movies:

The Thing (both the original and the prequel)

The Mist

The superdeep

Life

Underwater

The bay

TV series:

Gannibal

The Head (though nothing supernatural, give me the thing vibe)

From (TV series)

Wayward Pines

Midnight mass

Fortitude

Below

Widow's bay

Games:

Until dawn

The Quarry

Cthulhu the cosmic abyss

I'm open to everything and I don't mind older recommendations either. Thank you guys 🙏

I'M REQUESTING Movies/Shows with intense mind games and a strong protagonist-antagonist rivalry

Looking for movies or shows similar to The Dark Knight, Death Note, Monster (2004), and Heat.

I'm looking for stories where the protagonist and antagonist have a compelling, intense conflict built around intelligence, strategy, psychological warfare, manipulation, and trying to outsmart each other.

I love it when both characters are smart and capable, and their conflict keeps escalating as they try to anticipate each other's moves. The antagonist should feel like a genuine threat, and their dynamic should be central to the story.

I'm open to movies, TV shows, anime, and international cinema. Any recommendations that capture this kind of rivalry and tension?

I'M REQUESTING Not your typical animated films with anthro/animal characters?

Edit: I didn't mean I don't want films with animals, I specifically want them. I phrased the title wrongly

So we all know Walt Disney, Don Bluth, etc., but I'm looking for something not typical, whether it's a country of origin, animation style or themes. A few examples:

- "The House"

- "Wolf Children"

- "Even Mice Belong in Heaven"

- "The Cat Returns"

- "Sirocco and the Kingdom of Winds"

- "Bath House"

- "Old Fangs"

- "Fuelled"

Basically I'm looking for something that you would look at and say "This is nothing like typical Western animation". Features and shorts are both okay, and any age demographic is also fine (though if it's an adult animation, I would prefer it to be more than just sex jokes).

And, of course, please give GOOD films

I'M REQUESTING Movies/ Shows with non-explicit romance

I’m a sucker for romance, but I really struggle enjoying movies and shows that have a lot of nudity, perverted humor, and/or explicit sex scenes. I don’t mind implied or brief sex scenes, as I seem to better tolerate sex scenes that are more like “making love”. I also am not a fan of cheating tropes or films where the sex/ women are depicted very porn-y, if that makes sense? I’m not exactly sure about why I am so specific about such things, as i also struggle with explicit gore or death scenes. it may have to do with a combination of trauma and my neurodivergence 🧐 I do not enjoy being caught off-guard with any of the things above, it can definitely turn me off for the rest of the movie 💔 otherwise, i really enjoy romance and romantic sub-plots!

anyway, my most recent fixation was the Other Bennet Sister, which i absolutely ADORED as i am also a fan of Bridgerton (which has nudity and sex scenes, a few of which i can tolerate but others i typically just skip past).

i’m open to suggestions!

I'M REQUESTING What’s the weirdest, strangest, or most bizarre movie you’ve ever seen?

I’m looking for movies with plots that are completely different from your usual mainstream stuff. The kind of weird movies that somehow manage to be interesting. You know, movies that are way outside the mainstream. Bonus points if they’re B-movies!

I'M REQUESTING Low energy/attention span movies that are great to watch at night because of visuals, sequences, etc?

disabled but feeling extra sick, nauseous, and in pain from a flare up and zapped of energy and distracted by all that, but always reserved night time for the more "spectacular" seeming looking movies instead of yk any low stakes rom com i can watch in the daytime with glare all over the tv etc

so not nighttime movies as in horrors or movies literally at night, but sometimes yea if its hard to see with glare half the time

but also not something too hard to follow, so something in english, something not too elaborate, can be totally mid and just turn my brain off to, yk, idk
would be nice if it was slightly well known or older so i can mark it off the big bucket list of iconic movies
when i say slightly i mean slightly, ive seen a lot

I'M SUGGESTING Coyote vs. Acme (2026)

It is kinda cute, but it is also layered. It has a 96 RT score as of today, so critics liked it. It has a lower IMDb score, so it may not be Shawshank. I'm not in awe of it either, but as someone who likes law, it was fun to watch a different movie about it.

I won’t go into details to keep it spoiler-free. I found the Road Runner to be kinda sweet in this movie. There were a lesson or two we can take from the movie if we don't get too serious about it. Good day!
