Announcement The 2026 Morrowind Summer Modjam Modding Competition - Starts August 22nd-23rd!
Morrowind Modding Legacy - The Official Home of the Modjams
The Themes Have Been Announced! Modders have until August 24th at 00:00 UTC to submit a mod using one (or more) of the following themes: Arcane Arts, Forgotten Lore, Strange Families.
It's Summer time, and with the heat, and the humidity, comes another exciting round of the Morrowind Modjams! For the tenth time since 2020, Danae and Morrowind Modding Showcases is hosting a Modjam Modding Competition, a 48-hour modding frenzy where modders get but a single weekend to build the best mod they can using specific themes before time runs out!
The competition begins on August 21st at 11pm UTC with an official livestream kickoff by Danae, in which the potential themes will be revealed and voted on by the community, narrowing down the potential field until just three themes remain.
Once the final three themes have been announced, modders will have 48-hours to build and release the best mod they can utilizing any of those three themes, or a combo of themes if they so choose.
Rules & Guidelines:
- Create your mod during the Modjam.,
- Modders' resources are allowed.,
- The use of AI is not forbidden, but should be disclosed.
- Previous projects can be a source of inspiration, but please try to make something new for the event.
- Most importantly, this is intended to be a friendly community event. Please focus on having fun and making something you enjoy.
Participation:
The competition is open to anyone and everyone looking to participate! All you need to do is release a mod with one of the themes (or multiple) during the competition time period using the official 2026 Summer Modjam header. Also wouldn't hurt to use the Modjams tag on the Nexus.
This is a Morrowind Modding Community - Discord Server event, so to make sure your mod is properly tracked for the competition, please join the server and tag it in the Published Mods channel!
There's also an official Modjam channel on there where you can keep up with all of the latest Modjam news!
Don't forget to check out the Resources page for any tutorials, frameworks, or utilities you might need!
Use the Postcard Editor:
Take advantage of the Morrowind Modjams website and the Postcard Editor to make special themed promo screenshots for your mod pages - give them that extra splash of Summer fun!
Judging and Prizes:
The Morrowind Modjams are judged events - a panel of judges will go through and play all of the submitted mods, ranking them on their quality, functionality, and adherence to the themes.
The final winners will be announced in a results livestream at a date yet to be determined, and those results will also be published to the Modjams website.
Participating modders will also get their profiles on the Modjam website, with downloadable Modjam passports and a trophy cabinet for any judge awards received. These profiles are connected to the Modathon and Madness sides of Morrowind Modding Legacy, and participating in the Modjam will boost your Madness score and increase your standing in the community's modding leaderboards.
There's also a number of prizes available in the form of game keys and Nexus DP.
A Proud Tradition:
The Morrowind Modjams are apart of the community's proud tradition of creative competition and collaboration. Some 160+ mods have been released for the Modjams in the past 6 years, many of them have become popular mainstays and have since been added to many of the largest mod lists for Morrowind.
I hope you'll all join us for another exciting round of Modjam fun, we're sure to get some amazing new mods, and if you're looking to participate for the first time, there's no better competition to dip your toes into the modding scene!
Happy Modding and Long Live the Morrowind Modding Community!

Announcement We're happy to announce that Project Cyrodiil and Skyrim: Home of the Nords are now updated for version 26.08 of Tamriel_Data.
Thank you for your patience since the release of the new TD update and Tamriel Rebuilt: Poison Song a couple of weeks ago while we dealt with some technical challenges. The update to the Abecean Shores release of PC includes a new player stronghold for the Kingdom of Anvil and Great House-style construction and improvement mechanics, a number of overhauled locations, and improvements to multiple quests. The update to the Dragonstar release of SHOTN includes 14 new dungeons, 6 new quests, and yet more overhauled locations. Both releases include scores of bugfixes, performance improvements, and general quality-of-life features not present in the original releases.
Please note that the file packages contain some loose files, which are intended to patch minor problems in Tamriel_Data discovered after the 26.08 release. These files should be allowed to overwrite upon installation.
Both PC and SHOTN may be freely installed mid-save with no problems, even if you've already started a savefile for Poison Song. We only recommend starting a new game if you had a previous version of PC/SHOTN installed on the same save and spent time in the PT lands. Please let us know in the discord server if you encounter any issues.
As always, thank you so much for your ongoing support of our project! We look forward to bringing you more of Cyrodiil, Skyrim, and other lands of Tamriel in future releases.

Skyrim: Home of the Nords can be downloaded at https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/44921?tab=files

Artwork Vivec; god of contradictions
Drew some vivec, based on the line from Sermon 33;
“if the love of the people of this city for me ever disappear, so shall the power that holds back their destruction.”
Reddit nukes the resolution so here’s the high res copy

Screenshot I always thought the little detail of NPCs and your player character shielding their eyes during ash storms added so much atmosphere to Morrowind.

Question Do you take Dra'Vashai to Old Ebonheart or take him as an apprentice (follower)?
Just curious. And if you take him as an apprentice, what do you do with him when he outlives his usefulness because he can only level up to 10?
I'm thinking I might leave him in Trinibane Manor to act as the "hetman" of Massama.

Mod Release Built a simple cell editor tool for myself but decided to share it too!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey, I decided to share this tool I built for myself to make mod creating easier. Maybe it would be useful to someone else too!
So it's a simple cell editor/furnisher that has features like:
- Object catalogue with 3d preview
- Attaching objects together
- Connect with mobile device and use with touch controls
- Co-op support to edit same cells with friends
- Create NPCs + topic editor
- Controller support
Link to the mod page in nexus mods
This was made mostly with the help of an AI-agent because I originally made this for just myself, but decided to share it if it would help someone else too!

Video Just resharing - 8 hours of interviews with the game devs of Morrowind.
Hello!
I hope its ok to reshare this - last year I interviewed as many game devs of Morrowind that I could track down, to hear them talk about their individual contributions to the game, share some memories/anecdotes, and reflect on the success and legacy of the game.
8 hours of interviews with writers, artists, programmers, voice actors etc.

Discussion Replayed Bloodmoon for the first time in 10 years. Now I remember why
Railroading, awkward quest progression, no accounting for alternative travel methods. I got as far as the attack on Fort Frostmoth and when I had to go walk over a specific part of the fort that was nowhere near where I would naturally walk coming back from the smuggler job, and certainly nowhere near my Mark, to get the quest to progress, I gave up in frustration.
Also, I don't care for forced companions. The MW engine, (and by extension the OpenMW re-implementation) don't handle companions well. They either stand in my way, or need to be babysat so they don't die of "being 30 levels behind the guy they're helping". Further, since my mage's default attack is "50 ft radius explosion", I run a real risk of just killing them myself without companion mods that prevent friendly fire.
I think I'll be staying away from Solstheim for a while.

Technical - General Help, Morrowind doesn't start anymore
1. Short introduction on the matter
2. The specifics
There's a small Elderscrolls YouTuber who fought for months to get Morrowind back to running. I wanted to ask whether someone has an idea on what Borean Knight could try. Below this, I try to assemble what he tried out so far. He's in bad health and I'd like to help him, since Morrowind is one of his very favorite games. This is by no means meant to be an advertisement or so for him, I simply think its heartwrenching to see him try out so much in months with no results. Thank you for your help, guys.
- Neither the Steam, GOG or OpenMW versions work
- it used to work until a windows 11 update
- it either freezes some seconds in-game or crashes once he starts the game
- the steam version gave him this error: steam error application load error 5:0000065434
- a hardware guy looked through his specs and found nothing
- changing and updating different drivers such as the DXVK drivers didn't work
- he did a system analysis in windows 11 and no parts seem to be broken
- he believes his pc "locks the game" due to a protection initialized by the system. He put a lot of research into it, but I don't know for certain whether that's the problem.
Thanks for reading, and have a nice day.
