A guide to interacting with this sub - read me first

This post is designed for people posting here for the first time, for the people that have been volunteering to help here for years and everyone in between. The stated goal is to foster a friendlier attitude throughout the sub.

But before we start, there's been a recent influx of spam from one source. So that you are aware - ALEJANDRA ORTIZ HERNANDEZ and FRAN POWELL are spammers. They're part of a spam ring all over Reddit, and they're probably trying to steal your money.

And they'll kick your dog when you aren't looking.

If you are new here, please realize that none of us have any stake in your claim or coverage. We are not here to sell you anything or to save some company money. Treating responders poorly because you don't like the answer is going to attract a lot of negative attention.

We get the same questions over and over, and maybe this is the answer that you need:

  • How much will my insurance go up after a ticket/accident/lapse in coverage? We don't know unless your state has a statutory requirement for your very specific situation.
  • My premium went up $X. How do I fight this? You can't. The only thing you can do is shop for new coverage, which we can't do for you.
  • How much does everyone else pay for coverage? Unless you're lucky enough to get someone in your exact demographic in your exact part of the world, the answers you're going to get are useless.
  • How much is my claim worth? We don't know. (note: if you're asking a more complex question about your claim, that could be very different)
  • How long will my claim take to close? We don't know (again: a more complicated question might have different answers)
  • Why is this person trying to sell me something? Report that post/comment/chat/private message to the moderators and let them handle that.
  • Will you help me commit fraud or otherwise break the law? No. Absolutely not. And we may ban anyone that does try to do that.

Ultimately, we are here to help you. This is a community of volunteers that wants to help navigate a complex system that is one of the lubricants of the financial world. Lots of lives are impacted by insurance directly and indirectly, and it can be a complicated system. Here are some things that make a good post where you can get help:

  • Location (Country and state/province at a minimum)
  • Type of insurance involved (Auto, Homeowners/Renters, Commercial, Health, something else)
  • A brief description of the problem and any advice you've gotten so far

Finally, here are some definitions of common terms that could help you get taken more seriously:

  • Adjuster - the person that handles your claim, makes coverage determinations and processes payments
  • Agent - the person that sells a policy. Some agents get involved in some claims, although that is the exception to the rule.
  • Underwriter - the person that decides how much a specific policy will cost for a specific risk.
  • Rate - this is the way your final price is calculated and is usually used synonymously with "premium", "cost" and "price".
  • Full coverage - don't use this term. There's no agreed definition, even among the regular posters here. People asking otherwise good questions or posting good answers that use this term often find themselves down voted to oblivion for including it.
  • No Fault - there are 18 states that, at least to some extent, make automobile bodily injury claims be paid by your own policy first instead of someone that caused your injury. There is only one state (Michigan) that makes damage to your vehicle No Fault. All Canadian provinces have some sort of No Fault provision for injuries, which is one reason why we need to know where you are when you're asking questions.
  • Collision coverage - this fixes your car when it collides with something else or another car hits it.
  • Comprehensive coverage (also known as Other Than Collision) - this covers your car for almost everything else, including floods, fires, tree branches and lightening strikes. Usually animal strikes are covered here, but not always.
  • Deductible - this is the amount that you agreed to pay in case of any claim. Your payment comes before any insurance payment. Deductibles are occasionally waived, but that's the exception, not the rule.

This is a community of volunteers that generally understands the insurance system. When we get things wrong, it is usually through lack of information to get a precise answer. Hopefully this guide will help you get good results.

Soliciting, private messages and you

It's time for a new reminder about the rules of this sub. There is never any reason to offer to contact another poster privately, especially if that poster has a question about placing coverage or a claim. Here is the rule:

The only rule of r/Insurance is that solicitation is prohibited. This means asking people to PM for any reason, offering to quote coverages for visitors, or soliciting agents and/or buyers to use your particular carrier. r/Insurance should be a place where people come to exchange information and ask questions without worrying about solicitation from agents. This includes adjusters, underwriters and brokers since we do not vet anyone.

You also received a version of this if you subscribed to the sub.

If you think that this doesn't apply to you, please think again. There are no exceptions in this, including "but I asked them to message me!" This sub is a safe space for people to ask questions about insurance. It is not here for anyone to try to profit from it, whether they're an agent, public adjuster, software vendor, personal injury attorney, headhunter, diminished value expert or anyone else that is not here to offer free help with no expectation of remuneration.

If you receive a message from someone offering you any sort of business proposition, whether a quote for insurance, legal representation (yes, there are lawyers unethical enough to solicit people on Reddit), damage reports or anything else, please let the moderators know via mod mail or in this thread. You should also report that message to the admins (we don't see that report, though). We take things like that seriously.

We really don't like banning people. Seriously, it's the exact opposite of why any of the moderators volunteered for the role. But we don't vet people before they post, and if people that break the rule find out that we enforce it whenever we see it broken.

And with that in mind, we have a very healthy community of posters that are here not only to help but to make sure that those who can't follow the rules have the damage that they're doing limited. Thank you to all of you for volunteering to help not only those confused by the insurance process but help keep those that want to think that they're special at bay.

Accident, other driver is at fault

• Upvotes

I was in an accident earlier today where I was driving 30 mph down a residential street. As soon as I started driving past this person’s driveway, I saw them speeding out the driveway facing forward and about to hit me. I blew my horn but it was too late. They hit me and pinned my driver door shut. Huge dent and huge scrape along both driver side doors. Cannot open the driver door or operate the window. Back hurts the worse, neck and head hurt too but not as bad as my back. Police were called, and we made a report. I’ve been at the hospital all evening. Is there any way they can try and lie their way out of this? I don’t think so but I feel like they were trying to come up with a way to make me somehow partially at fault. They didn’t lurch out until I was already passing their driveway so it’s not like I could’ve saw them and slowed down at all.

Should I go through a law firm or handle the claim myself through their insurance? They have geico. I have only liability insurance right now unfortunately. My car is paid off.

Claim and OEM question?

• Upvotes

recently got in rear end (my fault ik) and now I’m looking at getting it brought to a Lexus Certified collision center.

NC btw

pretty bad front end damage. no airbags though and the adjuster as well as myself are pretty sure the frame rails are good. def radiator and radiator mount need replacing.

car is a 2024 IS350 RWD fully loaded (LSD, Triple Beams, 360 Surround View, Nav w/Mark Lev, Power Sunshade, DHP, BBS)

damage estimate is currently $11.5k although I know it’ll go up after teardown. estimate was also all using aftermarket and refurbished parts.

Lexus certified collision centers only use OEM parts and I’m curious if Geico will even cover everything?

if not what’re my options?

Auto Insurance Commercial Insurance (Logging Company) in NC not Accepting Liability for Accident

• Upvotes

Hi everyone, looking for some insight or reassurance on a commercial claim dispute in North Carolina accident that I was in on Oct. 2nd.

I was pulling up to a red light (4 lane road that consists of a - left turn lane, two middle lanes, and a right turn lane).
I pulled up beside a Mack truck at the light (looked like a truck that hauls mulch), he was in the straight lane next to me intending to go straight.. assumingely.

Well, he ends up makes a right turn, cutting in front of me as I’m in the turning lane, I was not moving, completely at a stand still (I’m not even sure if the light had turned green or not), but he made a turn at the light and the back of his truck hooked my front end. Basically ripped off my front driver side bumper, and headlight assembly forward and outward.

He didn’t stop.. so I follow him about 2-3 miles till he turns down a dirt road that had other trucks parked in it (I could still see him from the road, i didn’t pull in, I just waited on the side of the road in case he tried to leave).
I called 911 while I was following him and tell them the situation. about 7-8 mins later after me sitting, a deputy arrive, I told him the situation and pointed to where he went to, and he drove down the dirt road and waited down there until the HP arrives.

HP arrived.. I tell the HP what all happened, he then goes to talk to the other driver. He even mentioned seeing the debris of my car on the road back ahead.
HP came back and said he said that the other driver didn’t even realize he hit me (which is possible, I guess) so he didn’t cite him with a hit and run, but did name him at fault for the accident.

HP also said to me that the other driver said that he had his turn signal on and that he “always does that”.
HP said he told him that he wasn’t supposed to do that.

After leaving, I drive back by and took photos of the scene showing the debris from my vehicle strowed out into the lane of the other road that I would’ve been turning onto that he drug down the road as he hit me.

I file a claim through my insurance that day. Get a rental, the field adjuster quoted it at about $3,600, but the car is currently undergoing a teardown at a body shop and it will more than likely require a supplement for more structural damage.

My insurance company (National General) told me today that the other party’s insurance is denying liability, but my adjusters team said they’re backing their initial decision of me being 0% At Fault, and sent it to the subrogation team.. but that it will most likely go to arbitration.

Why is Progressive denying a claim that seems pretty clear-cut that he was obviously in the wrong? I was not even moving.

Is this just a standard commercial "deny and delay" tactic?

I hope I explained this to where it makes sense lol. But If anyone has any advice, or if this is common with commercial insurances, any feedback or information would be appreciated!

Thank you 😊

Auto Insurance At-fault driver has no active coverage

Hey everyone, looking for NJ-specific insurance advice.

I was rear-ended in NJ and went through my own insurance. Both companies agreed I was 100% not at fault, so my deductible was waived. The collision center just finished the repairs, which totaled about $12,000.

The car is a CPO 2023 with under 20k miles. I bought it 100% cash just 3 weeks before the crash.

Today, the other person’s insurance company dropped a bomb: their driver did not have active coverage at the time of the accident, so they are denying the claim.

A $12k accident history is going to tank the resale value of a car I owned for less than a month. Since the driver is uninsured, can I file a Diminished Value claim under my own Uninsured Motorist Property Damage (UMPD) coverage?

I know NJ allows UMPD for property damage, but does it cover DV? Or am I stuck suing an uninsured driver in small claims court? (I know, I know … “Good luck with that!”)

Thanks!

Insurance company can’t get ahold of other driver

My vehicle was hit overnight while parked the next day I noticed the damage and searched the apartment complex for another vehicle who might have damage. Luckily there was a fluid trail that led me from my vehicle straight to theirs I called the cops and they got into contact with them we exchanged info ect then when filing the claim I guess he reported it stolen.(it was not stolen he had the keys to the vehicle) and now his insurance isn’t investigating the matter and is saying they cannot get into contact with him. What should I do? Is there a possibility that he somehow gets out of this? It’s been over 2 months since the incident.

Auto Insurance Should I contact my insurance company even though I’m not at fault?

I was in accident a couple days ago, the front bumper of my car got scratched up pretty bad, I called the cops, we exchanged insurance and I asked for a police report. The police determined the other driver was at fault due to them driving into oncoming traffic. Now this is my first time ever having to file an accident. I was told to file through the at fault’s insurance company so they can pay for the damages but I wanted to know should I also file through mine. I know if I do I’ll have to pay the deductible for collision and so my car can get repaired faster and in my state rates don’t go up if you’re not at fault. Should I let my insurance company know in case the adjuster calls me asking me for my statement? I know that it’s best to tell them that I’m not comfortable being recorded and what not but if my insurance isn’t involved what does the process look like?

3 “injuries” from a sideswipe and they are blaming me…

Got into a very odd, minor accident a few days ago and wondering if anyone has gone through something similar.

I (F26) was driving alone in the middle lane of a highway around 11:30pm, when a car comes up driving in the lane to my right going maybe 5-10mph faster than me. As soon as they became parallel with my car, they veered into my lane and hit all along the passenger side of my car for a good few seconds. I was able to stay pretty steady as it was not a hard jolt, more of a firm nudge. As soon as it happened I thought it was odd because they didn’t overcorrect immediately, they continued to veer into me for a couple of seconds before braking. I’m not saying it was intentional, but.. it seemed odd to me.

I braked slowly and pulled forward and to the shoulder. The other car started smoking a bit (maybe from braking or from tire damage, I’m not sure) and pulled over as well. I got out immediately and two middle aged men had already gotten out of the other car and were taking photos of my car, then theirs. They were walking around, non injured. I asked for their information and they responded in Spanish saying they don’t speak English. One of them pulled out his phone and used a translator app to say “my friend in the car is hurt.” My first thought was literally that he was saying they needed to get going because they were on the way to a hospital or something.. not that he was hurt from the collision. That’s how minor it was. There was no jolt or major impact. They asked me to call the police and I did, but because we were in New York they only respond to crashes with injuries and non injuries are just handled through insurance and DMV reports. At this point the third friend gets out of the car holding his shoulder and limping quite significantly. I told the operator and then asked the friend if he needed an ambulance, to which he said “maybe…” then said “no, no, I am ok.” I continue using translators to communicate with them briefly just to explain what the police said and exchange information. I took some very poor quality photos of the cars (it was dark and dangerous on the side of a very busy highway)

While this is happening a tow truck pulled over and the man checked if we were able to drive the cars still, we were, and then I left.

Two days later I get a call from my insurance asking about what happened and they tell me the other car made a claim with them, saying that I changed lanes into their car, and that all 3 of them have injuries. I almost laughed out loud. Obviously my insurance is denying them, but now I’m concerned that if they somehow find me at fault or if this settles as 50/50, my premium will go up.

I do feel that the damage is pretty damning for them, as their car only has a ripped off side mirror and a a scuff and dent on the front drivers side bumper/wheel area. My car has their paint and scratches all the way down the side, a significant impression all around the front wheel well where the paint has buckled and chipped, the front bumper is detached slightly on one side, and my front passenger hubcap came off completely and the tire itself is extremely scraped up.

Advice appreciated on what I should do next or how you think this will go. All i’ve done so far is explain the crash to my insurance, and file a report with the DMV (required by NY law)

Umbrella Insurance and Trusts

Husband and I have a prenup that specifies we have separate finances. We each have our own revocable trust. My brokerage account is held in my trust, his brokerage account is held in his trust. We own our house as tenants in common, with respective trusts holding each of our shares. Hence our homeowner’s insurance lists Me, Hubs, My Trust, Hub’s Trust. All good.

We have an umbrella insurance policy that names Me and Hubs. When I asked to add both of our trusts, the insurance company says they will only add one trust per policy. Is this really a problem? If so, Should I find a carrier that will agree to add both trusts? Should Me and Hubs get separate umbrella insurance policies?

Need Help Getting Correct Value for Totaled Car

I'm having a hell of a time dealing with insurance here and am looking for some advice. I own a 2003 Celica with the factory TRD body kit. This was parked on the side of the road and it was hit while I was at work. At the time the car was hit, I was not driving it and did not have insurance on the car. It's generally parked in my garage but I had it on the road while I put up new shelves in my garage.

I'll skip all the in-between unless someone wants to know about it. The other party's insurance deemed the car a total loss. They sent me the total loss value with 2 vehicles that did not have the factory TRD body kit. This was confirmed with a Toyota Vehicle Specs report. I sent everything back to the insurance company asking for a re-evaluation.

Got the re-evaluation back today. They increased the value by $2000, but still nowhere near the price identical cars are being sold for.

Initially I was offered $5900. I sent them supporting documentation with Toyota VIN specs showing that my car had the TRD kit from factory and none of their cars had it. I sent them 2 cars for sale (the only 2 I found) with the TRD kit. One sold for $12,000 and the other is for sale for $11,719. I also supported that with VIN reports showing the body kit was factory on both these cars. They added the final car to their comparable vehicle list in the total loss paperwork and averaged the 3 values bringing the final value to $7500.

How would I go about fighting this? The TRD kit is where the money is on this car. They're extremely hard to come by, and when you see them for sale, they sell for over $10k (ignoring private party prices). Based on the comparable vehicles I found, I'd expect closer to $10k for my totaled car.

TL;DR

  • Parked Car Totaled.
  • Initial Total Loss Value $5900.
  • Countered with comparable cars selling for $11,000 to $12,000.
  • Revised Total Loss value $7500.
  • Insurance is comparing my car with other cars that do not have the factory installed TRD Body Kit.

Claims Related Personal Items Policy Q

I have a standalone personal items policy for a piece of jewelry that is likely lost (hand made wedding set).
Have a quality appraisal, photos, etc. A police report has also been filed.

My question is if there is a way to know how a claim will impact things like homeowner’s and auto rates. I would never file a home insurance claim over 10k, but have been paying for a personal items policy for exactly that possibility. Also wondering if there is a problem with waiting another month (or two) to file in the hopes it turns up or I find it at a local pawn shop.

Auto Insurance Is this a legitimate? How is it possible for a local insurance agent to get me a normal Mercury quote in 10 minutes after GEICO and Progressive completely blocked me?

Hey everyone,

I need some peace of mind from insurance pros because I am feeling incredibly anxious and COMPLETELY new to this and I wanted to make sure I am not being scammed.

I have three total claims on my record:

  • July 2024: A roadside assistance call (hit a bump) where Progressive paid out $0 but logged it as an accident.
  • May 2025: One actual at-fault accident.
  • March 2026: A not-at-fault accident where the other person's insurance handled it and Progressive paid out $0.

I tried to get a policy online through Progressive and GEICO. They both blocked me and said they couldn't offer me a policy because I have 3 claims. GEICO tried to route me to Bristol West for a crazy $800 a month.

I saw someone one on a different post suggesting calling insurance agents called a local independent agent in my city. She took all my information over the phone, ran it through her system, and said she got me an approved quote with Mercury for a relatively normall, standard monthly rate. She didn't specify exactly why Mercury approved me when the others said no, she just said the approval went through.

The next steps she gave me are:

  1. Send her a photo of my car registration and photos of my car from all four sides.
  2. once that’s done pay for it and rece all my official policy paperwork and insurance cards.

Is it normal for Mercury to approve a driver that GEICO and Progressive completely blocked? Are the vehicle photos a standard underwriting requirement before taking payment, or is this a red flag? Does this sound like a legitimate process?

Thank you so much for your help!

I went to Aspen dental , and long story short they messaged up my bill . they where saying I owed what my insurance said they could not charge me for . I finally got tired of it and reported them to the state . They went and cleared my balance. But I have already paid 700 through a payment plan . Should I push this further , or just forget the 700 , and be done with it all .

Auto Insurance TX Auto Claim: Being sued medicals $42k vs. my $50k insurance limit. What is my actual risk?

Looking for some perspective from Texas adjusters or attorneys or anyone who has been in a similar situation.

I was involved in an auto accident in Houston a few months back. Liability was evaluated 100% against me (I was issued a citation for running a yellow/red light, vehicle was totaled). Nobody was hospitalized at the scene.

The claimant is represented by a law firm that had an initial demand of $1 million, the current demand on paper is $250,000.

My insurance bodily injury liability limit is $50k per person / $100k per accident.

My insurance offered about $20k to settle. They broke down the claimant's medical bills to me, which total around $40,000. The adjuster noted heavy medical inflation (no ER visit, a 3-day treatment delay, a $10k concussion test, a $7k MRI billed through a chiropractic/neurology network).

My insurance sent me a letter this morning stating they haven't reached a settlement and that a lawsuit is likely being filed. In fact, it looks like they have already filed the suit according to my insurance on the phone, though I haven't been formally served with papers yet.

I am stressed out. If this goes past the $50k limit, what is my actual real-world risk for me? Could the law firm actually push to a jury trial over a possibly inflated $42k medical bill when my policy caps out at $50k? If my insurance keeps digging their heels in at $18k and refuses to tender the policy limits, does the Stowers doctrine protect me if a jury goes wild?

Basically want to understand my personal risk of having to pay any of that out of pocket. I just want to know if my personal finances/savings are actually in danger here or if this is just standard corporate posturing between the insurer and a billboard firm. Thanks.

Auto Insurance Car insurance dropped me

First claim ever for a not at fault (deer hit and run) no other damage to than my car. Took my car to get an estimate and right after, the policy holder (my dad) received an email that I am being dropped. Confused here?? Never had an issue with insurance before

EDIT: thanks to the few who were genuinely trying to help. I’ll be taking the appropriate steps to get this fixed. I should have worded this a bit differently but it was not a “hit and run”. A deer jumped out in front of the car therefore causing damage to the vehicle. As for the others ✌🏼

Rear ending/ hit and run

So, Friday (5 days ago) I was rear ended, cops came, I opened a claim with my insurance (allstate) and got the car to the nearest body shop for an estimate. Monday morning my assigned adjuster called me for a statement and foremly closed my claim because apparently I don't have collision insurance. I'm covered for everything else, just not collision, I'm sure someone at some point informed me when I signed up for the policy I just don't have any earthly idea why I didn't add that on anyway.

Regardless, my adjuster did offer to make a third party claim on my behalf on the guilty party's insurance. I had to wait until the police report for that info as the other party actually kept driving for several blocks before stopping and had their own officer handling that part and I honestly didn't even think about it. However, the report was sent to me yesterday and their insurance info is marked as unknown. How can it possibly be unknown? Did the cop not ask for that information? If they were uninsured, wouldn't it be noted in the report and more citations beyond the hit and run would be issued?

I'm still waiting to hear back from the officer about it, but I did reach out to the other party personally. She put her son's cell number as her own for some reason, he was pleasant enough and gave me her number. I called, no answer and the mailbox is full. Sooooooo, that's fun.

In the meantime, I called and left a message with the adjuster asking to reopen the case as I am covered for uninsured driver property damage and sent him the police report, estimate and other party's phone number. I haven't heard back. The estimate is several thousand dollars more than the car's value so it should be a fairly easy and simple decision to total it. And I'm already looking into buying a new car.

Is there anything else I should be doing? Any tips or anything I should watch out for?

my experience with geico and towing company

both were talking trash against the other, and both were right about the other.

towing was doing anything he could to hold onto the car, and insurance just expected me to do everything to get it out for them.

i managed to do that idk who paid for 2 weeks of storage, while my field adjuster went on vacation, i had to deal with someone else who had a completely different attitude and telling me it's coming out of payout if its there any longer. i laughed in his face.

talked to owner of tow truck company after hearing plenty of bullshit - he needed the exact driver coming from the co-parts even though its been always the same and only guy and truck that deals with him - as told me directly by coparts.

he promised me my license plates, geico promised me my license plates and told me they put in a request for the plates, no problem i'll get them in a week or two. three weeks later i call back the field adjuster, who tells me the plates have been destroyed.

great, now i can't reuse my plates, i have to pay the registration fee on another car, instead of reusing my plates for very cheap re-registration fee,

oh and the car that hit me works for car rental company that does uber or some ride sharing, and they want to contest my "not at fault" and i'm not sure the case is over. i'm expecting the unexpected, and annoyed.

Auto Insurance Car got T-Boned, Need Advice

Hey everybody,

Never had this to me before but recently I got T-boned by an uninsured driver who wasn’t looking both ways before entering my lane. I drive a 2010 Nissan Versa. The driver side door is heavily dented along with scratches. Some scuffing on the rocker panel. I only have liability and uninsured motorist property damage. I have contacted insurance but I am unsure how much I am able to get out of this. I am a college student, so I’m just looking for advice. Do I keep the car as it is (still drives, no lights/air bags deployed) or try to get another car? I reckon the damage is at minimum 50% of the car’s value. Any advice is appreciated, thank you.

Question regarding total loss

I recently got into a fender bender (rear ended someone) I did the claims took pictures all that sent to my insurance company someone from the insurance company ended up calling me on his own to try and give me advice saying if I take it to a shop try to get a estimate without them filing anything with the insurance company because if they do and it’s a total loss then there’s nothing he can do. My grandma left me this car last year and I’d love to keep it it’s a Camry with 74k miles. Is it that the better option I got 1300 from my insurance already so if the repairs are more then that ill just pay out of pocket without telling insurance so I don’t have to put it as a total loss and get a salvage title and all that stuff. Does anyone have any advice on this all this insurance talk is very new to me and he was trying to tell me what to do without explicitly saying it but I just wanted to ask here to see if it’s a good idea or if what I’m saying is common for people to do.

Auto Insurance Can I pocket a portion of my auto insurance payout?

The insurance company paid off the balance of the loan already, and is transferring the $25K remainder to me. The APR on a new replacement vehicle is very low, so I'm wondering can I put half of this in my HYS and finance more of the replacement car?

Home Insurance State Farm to Allstate

After moving my auto last year to progressive, I'm now considering Allstate for the after a 60% premium increase from State Farm due to me dropping their way overpriced auto.

Any advantage of talking to a slick salesperson over just doing an online quote? Last one I talked to fed me full of crap, then when I asked him to call back after Labor Day before my State Farm policy expired he never called.

Also a replacement value question. If the home has a replacement value according to Allstate's policy of say 320k, if you have a total loss and don't want to rebuild, do they pay the 320k or some other amount? I'm in a situation where if I had a total loss I would downsize, so not sure I want to pay the extra premium for percentage over replacement value that may be required to rebuild.

Auto Insurance Affidavit of no extra insurance

So I got into an accident about a month ago. Yes, I was at fault. Information was exchanged and insurance contacted. Fast forward to now, I received an affidavit from my insurance (progressive) saying that the other party lawyered up and that the other parties lawyer is asking for this information. They're asking if I have any other insurance and also my assets. I dont have assets like that. Just my car and whatever money is on my bank account. Mind you the accident was very minor left literally no visible damage on her car just a small little dent but she's claiming bodily injury. I'm surprised that things are being taken this far but here I am. My question is do I sign the affidavit and send back considering that it came from my own insurance saying that the other parties lawyer is requesting it?
