I have been using a Jupiter account powered by Federal Bank for several years, and I never imagined that a simple banking issue could turn into such a frustrating and financially painful experience.
Recently, I lost ₹30,000 of my hard-earned money because of what I believe were delays and a complete lack of coordination between Jupiter and Federal Bank.
It all started when a ₹15,000 cyber-crime lien was placed on my account without any prior information or communication to me.
When I approached the concerned police authorities, I was advised to contact Federal Bank and have the matter processed through the GRM portal as per the Ministry of Home Affairs SOP.
That sounds straightforward, right?
Unfortunately, it wasn’t.
Federal Bank kept asking me to contact Jupiter.
Jupiter kept directing me back to Federal Bank.
Federal Bank → Jupiter.
Jupiter → Federal Bank.
And I was stuck in the middle.
I personally visited the Federal Bank branch around 10 times, trying to resolve something that I had absolutely no involvement in. Every time, I was sent from one place to another, while the police authorities continued asking me to coordinate with the bank.
I made countless calls, sent emails, followed up through chats and messages, and spent hours trying to explain the same situation repeatedly.
Eventually, after all those efforts, my complaint was finally registered on the GRM portal.
But by then, it was already too late.
The ₹15,000 lien amount had already been debited, leaving my account balance at zero.
And because I was worried about losing access to my Jupiter Pro account/services due to the minimum balance requirement, I transferred another ₹15,000 of my own money into the account.
And guess what happened?
That ₹15,000 was also gone.
So, in total, I ended up losing ₹30,000 of my hard-earned money while I was simply trying to comply with the process and resolve an issue that I did not cause.
What hurts the most isn’t just the ₹30,000.
It is the feeling of being completely helpless as a customer.
I trusted the banking system with my money. I expected the bank and the fintech platform to work together when there was a problem.
Instead, I was pushed from pillar to post, with nobody taking clear ownership of the issue.
I am sharing this because customers should not have to spend weeks, make 10+ branch visits, countless calls and emails, and repeatedly explain the same problem just to get clarity about their own money.
I sincerely hope Jupiter and Federal Bank look into this matter, take responsibility, and provide a clear explanation of where my ₹30,000 went, why it happened, and how it will be recovered.
This isn’t just about ₹30,000.
It’s about trust. It’s about accountability. And it’s about treating customers with dignity when they are already going through a stressful situation.
