We've updated our TruckSim content rules to adjust to the growing community, and thanks to this thread, these adjustments are taking into effect today.
Removal of Modding Request
ATS and ETS2 is growing rapidly and with this, we have seen a large increase of mod requests from liveries / paint jobs or vehicles. Modders request 90% of the time are never fulfilled and take up space timeline.
Please note, if you want a model in either of these games. Pay a modeler then convert the model with Blender yourself to make a playable vehicle.
Removal of Feedback / Suggestions
This subreddit isn't actively moderated by SCS or any other game developer. With this, please redirect all feedback or suggestion based questions to:
While these topics drive discussions, they lead nowhere, an empty void making the community feel like game developers "aren't listening" but in reality they're just working on other features.
Payware mods is going nowhere due how rapidly both games are growing. We will never remove or restrict someone from sharing their thoughts video or photos of the paid mods. That's why Reddit has a downvote button for a reason.
Mods will now be separated by flairs:
If thread submission features any payware from a mod that requires a subscription or a one time fee, the thread will require 'Payware'. If thread does not feature this, the thread can be taken down without notice.
Although self-promo of payware (asking for money or donations) should be posted in the Monthly Thread. Anything outside of this will be taken down. If any user see's a self-promo post, you can report it via Report > Breaks Subreddit Rules
If you don't like payware, you can head to r/scssoftware for non-payware (this subreddit follows the same guidelines as the SCS Forums).
We follow a simple rule, if you don't like payware you don't have to support it, just don't steal, pirate it or share those links with others. We strongly enforce this rule when any user reports a user, comment or thread. You will be banned permanently.
AI is growing and sadly whether we like it or not, it will always be in our life's now from searching content online, online support, shopping, banking to various little things in life.
In terms of AI on this subreddit, things are changing:
If you want to share your AI generated payware content we suggest you create your own subreddit directed for that specific project via 'Start a Community' button in the sidebar underneath the 'Reddit' logo.
All free AI content should be posted in Monthly Thread. Topic should state "AI" in their title or body and if possible share the GitHub source code project link within the message.

YouTube has terminated the channel while they look into the incident. It should be back up within a few days.

They just added achievements for Coaches and Iceland, I'm 90% sure, that they are going to drop these two together.

It looked okay but the frame rates being that low kinda killed any desire to use DLSS 5.

Oddly I thought I could live with the F150 (and am trying the RWD setup before going nope) but once I got out of South Dakota and doing both Atlas boards and ended up in Idaho (via. Wyoming where I ended up on my roof for the first time) the ploughing (genuinely feels worse than my 2019 Cascadia) and then snap lift off oversteer is just lethal at 65+ territory. Only mod I was using was a V8 Carnivore to get me up to Interstate cruising speed more easily (as I have jobs to do).
I'm thinking Bronco, hell no due to the high Centre of Gravity?; 67 Mustang again no - RWD and 1967 Car Geometry isn't going to be kind. The 50/50 approximate split of the Crown Victoria seems the default choice (but a little extra power wouldn't go a miss).
Alternatively what chance do you think we get a Ford Performance tuning pack at some point with better shocks and rollback? Alternatively whats coming up from other manufacturers I'm going to love more like not being US based am I going to love the Dodge Ram or the Toyota Tundra?

In the gameplay video from the developers on the interface, a circle was visible on which the passengers overloaded. And if you brake sharply or turn, passengers will rate lower.
and I thought what if there are fast people on the Truckers MP who will specially brake or cut buses so that the player earns less or gets a rating below🤔

What's actually stopping them from doing this? Having a majority of the map devoid of any traffic is probably the #1 reason why I choose to not switch from singleplayer, but I also want to drive with other players as well.
Shouldn't be that hard to have AI traffic in isolated regions while it decreases smoothly in player-dense regions.

I've been thinking about this ever since they announced they're working on adding canada to ats and released the road trip dlc, do you think they'll ever release something like global transport sim? essentially including whatever countries are feasible given current global tensions. and instead of it just being a truck sim, also including taxis, courier gigs, and hauling stuff with a pickup and trailer. they could probably just reuse the maps for places that have already been released so far as well. it would be kinda cool to build up a global transport empire imo.

(NO PERSONAL GAIN / MONETIZATION / PROMOTION GOAL. tool is free and open source)
GitHub: https://github.com/piskevalee-cpu/CarUtil
Hi everyone, i made this tool named CarUtil which allows modders, users or just anyone to convert a conventional truck car to an actual road trip car with realistic physics. any question i will answer as quickly as possible!
What CarUtil can do as of now:
the tool is a python script, so users will need the latest python installed (either via MS store or, if they are on linux, should be preinstalled). Just fetch the latest version on github and follow the instructions to excecute it.
after providing the path of an ATS car scs file, the tool will prompt you for data about the car, which can be easily looked up online (car weight in kg, category, brand, horsepower, max torque rpm and car brand), to achieve as realistic physics as possible.
when done, move the new scs (recognizable by the "rt" prefix, the script will provide the new path) to the ats mod folder, activate it and enjoy!
EDIT: Cars now work in quick jobs

Photo mode is pretty good but I think we can do better. Anyone looking for better photo mode options?

Somebody posted this in the Red Dead subreddit and it immediatly gave me an idea for SCS trucksims. I have a very limited experience in modding, but since I use Waze mod for GPS, I noticed all it does is changing colors (background, discovered road, undiscovered road and the route) and icons, so if it's not that hard to implement, I might make one.
