I’m sure I’d be fired immediately

I played this game for like 20 hours before realising what the fuck I was even doing.

So first of all, what makes driving so great in real life? You get to see different landscapes, different towns and cities, interesting cars on the road, all that. generally you see a lot of, mostly nice looking things.

Now what do you see in ETS2? The same landscape, the same cars, the same buildings. In general, everything just looks exactly the same.

So what do you do when playing the game? you stare at your screen, looking at the same, never changing image basically, pressing the forwards button with the only gameplay being to dodge some cars occasionally.

This is literally the most mindless stupid gameplay I have ever witnessed. Playing this game is actually depressing because everything looks the same wherever you go. You feel so claustrophobic like you are in. never ending nightmare where at every turn you take you come out in the same place.

Like if you want a game just to drive, GTA would be better because you at least have diverse landscapes, a greater variety of cars and better graphics.

Or like any other driving game.

Fucking Space Invaders is a more interesting game. It always looks the same like in ETS2 and the main gameplay is also dodging things but at least it’s more exciting.

Seriously I don’t get how this game gives you guys anything, just staring at a blank void for hours. In this so obviously fake world.

Honestly this game really feels like a nightmare to me. It’s like the backrooms if they were streets.

Dear virtual truckers!

13 years after creating the subreddit I've decided to step down as owner and moderator, so this is both a goodbye, and a welcome: I'm leaving azgoodaz in charge whom I've known for a long time through the trucksim discord.

Sadly I have a lot less free time to devote to tending to the subreddit than I did a decade ago, so this will probably be a change in a good direction for everyone. I will just say that it was an amazing experience to see the sub grow from 8 to 80000 readers, to slowly observe the community gather around the trucksim games we all are fond of, to see your amazing screenshots and stories throughout the years... nothing can replace the joy of creating a community from nothing.
