I feel very proud and honoured to announce that one of our very own students from UAlberta (me) has shown an extremely inspiring amount of discipline and initiative to actually start lecture 1 for his courses (now). This will greatly help him succeed and perform well for his midterm (in 6 hours) as midterms tend to be extremely important to one’s success in passing a course.

Professionals in the field reported, “these moments do not come often.” So please, have a smile on your face today, because it’s truly a prideful time in UAlberta’s history.

Thank You 🥹,
(me)

Was feeling a bit low yesterday. Thought this was a good idea to finally do something I had been thinking for a while!

for the love of god with all offence included, please brush your teeth. like i know you can afford a tube of toothpaste if you can either use loans or other supports to attend uni. it’s genuinely an issue when i’m sitting in a lounge or library and i can smell the radiating gingivitis coming off of people when i’m not even directly beside them. (yes, gingivitis, very distinct smell). if it’s because of depression or other things okay that’s understandable i’ve been there but if you can show up to school you can spare some of that same energy to at least take a swig of mouthwash or pop some chewing gum in your mouth. id like to study while not being penetrated by the horrid smell of tooth decay if possible. also if you know your breath stinks, don’t be opening your mouth to talk!! if you think no one can smell it you’re most certainly mistaken. take advantage of the dental covered by tuition and spare the nostrils of your fellow peers from disintegrating.

dw guys I saved the curve

To the person who lost their Car Key in the chem building. I brought them to the cameron library front desk.

how'd it go for those who wrote it

How do you feel about the midterm?

I guess it was pretty easy, but I stupidly did some stupid mistakes(

hey everyone!! 💚 I’m starting a Celiac Club at UAlberta and need a few more signatures on our membership petition to get it officially approved!

If you’re interested in joining or supporting the club, please sign here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1A48jYpmYQxIzMPQ0OU3zuLL6tM3BSYUp/edit

I’m also looking for students interested in joining our exec team! You don’t have to have celiac or gf to support us. Please share with anyone who might be interested, thank you!! 🫶

Thoughts? How’d you guys think it went!

people in front of lister today protesting about jesse brown, a heavily zionist podcast/journalist, who was in one of the conference rooms at lister.

How does everyone think they did? Questions were definitely more detailed than I expected.

I keep making dumb mistakes on tests and second guessing myself. I passed all of my midterms but just genuinely making dumb mistakes I wouldn’t be spiralling if I just straight up didn’t know what I was doing but I do 😭😭 idk why I feel so down but I wanted to boost my GPA this term and have a 4.0 term which honestly realistic for the classes I have this term but feel like I just blew it . Anyways someone tell me something nice 💔

Hellooo, well I'll mention this first that IM NOT MAKING A TUTORING AD OR ASKING FOR MONEY IN THIS POST

Im just offering help to anyone who may feel stuck in CMPUT courses just because I went through the same issues and I'm now in my 4th year and after having TAed a bunch i think i know how to help most people struggling with cmput courses. Also, i just like helping.

Ofc im not offering any tutoring or asking for money, just offering FRIENDLY help so that u can get that 4.0 in your cmput courses. I won't TEACH you the topics necessarily but I'll show you the path that may be helpful.

Anyway lemme know if u need any help.

Blew all my points on it and bought 100+ entries, didn’t win anything. I lowk regret not getting ice cream with the points instead 🫩

I just found out that the second midterm would be about Units 1 and 2
I truly don't understand how they expect us to learn all of this within three weeks and solve the exam within one hour and at the end, only a few topics are included in the exam

I've been waiting patiently for the restock but it hasn't happened and now I have to actually use my money........ crazy things happening rn

I’m a new international student doing my master and I’m pretty extroverted. I don’t have a problem initiating casual conversations or getting to know new people
But I noticed that people here don’t seem very responsive to that. A few have been really engaging, but they’re a small minority , so I became introverted as well lol
I’m wondering if it’s just a cultural difference, or if casually approaching people and starting conversations isn’t really common here, especially as a woman?
Is this just my experience, or have others noticed the same thing?

Ordered hot btw lol

Currently finished nursing school with a cum gpa of 3.36 at 24 y.o. After nursing school, I am considering pursuing MD. Idk where to start. Or should I even start lol. Idk if I am being delusional. I know med school needs a 4.0 gpa and almost a perfect MCAT score but I am wondering what the process is like applying for med school.

How would I boost my cgpa? Should I do another degree and take courses needed for md application (bio chem, org chem etc..) In high school I didn’t have Physics 20 or 30 neither.

hi all, i'm in dr. dennie's intro to greek myth class and im lowkey super scared for this midterm. does anyone know how much of the readings she tests on? i did them ofc, they're just all very content-heavy. im worried that even though i know the main things that happened, she's going to test on specifics. does anyone know how this midterm goes or is anyone else studying for this rn? any sort of advice would be super helpful, thank you!!

I'm looking for the mechanical engineering one specifically. There was a page that outlined every course you're supposed to take with links to every possible ITS and technical elective, idk where it went but it's just completely gone from the internet. Is the site just being maintained or did they remove it to torture us further?

How does everyone feel about the midterm tomorrow (Trish class primarily)? The sample midterm was pretty straightforward so can only hope it’s similar to that

I literally did my first two midterms for psych 104 and chem 101 and oh my god i feel like im genuinely so stupid
