I recently bought a hp elitedesk 705 g4 mini pc, after some time i realized i didn’t do enough research and got a version with a weaker cpu, the one in it is an amd a10, i saw that i could swap it out for a model like the ryzen 5 2400ge, but i also saw that if i do any changes to the cpu it just wont power on, could someone help me figure out whats true and whats not, because a faster cpu would really make a big difference.

i noticed this just today, image files don't have a proper thumbnail (the ones above are png and jpg files) and the sticky notes & calculator app don't have thumbnails in my taskbar either. non image files (like the pdf ones) are fine

My monitor stays black after restarting my PC

Before this happened, I held down my PC's power button for a long time to turn it off. When I tried to turn my PC back on, the monitor stayed completely black.

My PC seems to turn on, but nothing appears on the monitor.

Has anyone experienced this issue or know how to fix it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm using a Lenovo IdeaPad S145-15IKB running Windows 10, and my Wi-Fi has stopped working, although Bluetooth still works.

I've tried installing and reinstalling the wireless drivers, but nothing has fixed the issue. I also tried downloading the drivers from Lenovo's official support website, but the download or installation process fails at around 50% with an error.

Bluetooth is still functional, so I'm wondering whether this is a driver-related or software issue rather than a hardware failure.

I've also checked Device Manager, but I haven't been able to restore Wi-Fi functionality.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue or found a working solution? Any help would be appreciated.

While back my pc froze and caused some issues the next time I booted up. Ultimately, I reinstalled windows and that fixed it but since then I've had this black screen flash when I click once on specific installed games. It'll only happen that first time but will happen again if I shut down and boot up. I know this isn't a big issue but I've been wondering ever since lol, so if anybody has any ideas throw them out there.

Whenever i update my driver through the nvidia app now it forces a boot loop and i have to go to a restore point to get my computer working again. I thought it was my bios being a year out of date and i just updated that but no dice. All the PC parts are new as of this year. Last time i could update my drivers was about 6 months ago now.

Hi I made this account just to ask the world of Reddit why my pc won’t boot into windows was checking after 8 hours yesterday tried to make a new USB drive with windows installed onto it and it still is unable to boot into windows it can access bios completely fine if you need any details lmk and hope someone can help me out

I'm desperate! I forgot to close my bedroom window when I went to sleep and ended up with my desk and desktop completely wet. The monitor was the most affected; it got soaked and water even dripped down when I took it off the desk to dry it. What should I do in this situation? The PC didn't get as wet, but I'm so afraid of losing my PC and the other things I took so long to buy...

The build is: ryzen 7 5800x, kingston fury 2x16gb 3200 mhz cl16 beast black, seasonic g12 750w Gold, asus tuf gaming b550 plus wifi (II), rx 7600xt, goodram 1tb px700 (it is the ssd)

The last 2 days it was randomly freezing (like it has crushed) and on the speakers was this constant annoying sound.

Today it started, froze and now it doesnt even go through DRAM lamp on startup.

I noticed that PSU was making a weird sound as well (no burned smell).

BIOS is up to date.

RAM is not loose, tried to take it out and installed it again properly.

This pc is not a prebuild, my friend built it (he had a pc service company when he built it), sadly he lives 300km away so it is hard to do anything when I know nothing of PC building. Any idea what to do?

I have all fans working with a fan control curve, the same with gpu and the temperature of my CPU at the time I recorded that video was around 48 - 50 degrees

I exchange the previous one because the windows key keept stating it was used/not a valid licens and support couldn't help, and the one I got same box pirce and all is completely different back and inside parts ehen i launch is says asrock now not asus should I return this and did i get lesser quality parts in the second one? also Sorry if wrong sub

I got this new monitor a week ago and all was well until i started seeing some random pixels that keep alternating, then at some point i started seeing these green lines on the monitor. Both problems' fix was to shut off the monitor then open it back up. This time tho when i got it, i made sure to take a picture so that i know what that is but then i tried to look at the monitor's menu and nothing was there? so now i don't know if it's an issue with the monitor or with my laptop's hardware and would like any info/ help that i can find here

My gpu usage stays at 90-99% in all other games but for black myth it stays only at 60-70% for some reason. How to fix this

Can someone help me diagnose this problem with my pc. My fans sounds like a geiger counter. I did open it up and the top fans screws where loose ish. I tightened them up but still it makes this noise.

My laptop crash problem has still not resolved. Everytime I use my Laptop, the screen reloads and the GPU shows Code 45. The temperature of both the GPU and CPU does not exceed 65°C still it happens. I have to EC hardware reset for the laptop to read the GPU, but it crashes again when I use the laptop longer than 10 mins even when I am not gaming.

Need Help What to do ? And Why it's happening?

A few days ago, my PC completely crashed when I opened my school account on chrome while on a google meet on another account (didn't bluescreen but completely blacked out both screens), and when i rebooted it my main monitor wouldnt work and my 2nd monitor had a ton of screen tearing. It said that I had run out of storage on my main disk (yes I know its not a good idea to let it get too full, but I thought I had around 6 or so free gigabytes). I checked control panel and my graphics drivers had warning signs on them but when I tried to update them, they said they were fully updated. I then tried to uninstall the drivers and reinstall them which seemed to work, and I was able to get back on the meet with no issue. I deleted some redundant data off of my local disk and now have around 16 gb free. Then the next day after I had come back from school (I can't remember if I had left my computer on or shut it down) I got back on my pc and tried to watch a youtube video, but there was no audio. Weird, so I checked my sound device was correct (it was), then checked to see if my cable, headphones, USB DAC, or port was broken by testing with different devices. They were all fine, so I turned to device manager, all the drivers said updated. Then I checked the other audio devices and they wouldnt work either. I also made sure it wasn't a youtube issue because the noise that plays when you change your volume was also silent. I tested my microphone, that worked fine, even the mic on the DAC worked. went to the specific audio settings for this device, and tried to play the test sound but there was an error preventing me from doing so. I finally decided it was time to look it up, so I found a reddit post that had my exact issue, tried the fix they suggested, but that didn't work either. I had to give up for the day and I was hoping the problem wouldn't persist when I came back, but unfortunately I'm not that lucky, and on top of that when I tried to use VLC media player, it would just return an error saying it had crashed (this happened when I tried to use the program without any media too). I tried renaming the appdata folder, and the crash message didn't pop up anymore but the app just wouldn't open at all now. I tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling it but there was no change.

I'm about at my wits end here, every solution that I try that seems to work for everyone else doesn't work at all for me, and with all of these issues at once i just have nothing that I can think of to do. I'm avoiding a complete fresh install at all costs because I have a ton of projects that would be really inconvenienced by starting from scratch and I currently do not have access to a backup drive to copy to. If anyone has a solution I would be SO thankful. I've always considered myself a pretty tech literate guy but this experience is making me question that.

My running theory is that I had less storage on my disk than I thought and when I opened my school's chrome account, their spyware tried writing some data to my local disk, and that along with the meet it was too much for the drive to handle (?). I don't really know, I'm not too versed in how that kind of process works.

Now I’m asking about the cooling system on my pc. As far as i can remember (because I don’t take my pc apart that often) i believe I only have 1 fan and the being the output fan. My current gpu runs on 48-50 C under low load, and ~65 C temps when at around 90%+ usage.

Should I improve my cooling or is it fine? I know that the best way to find out is through trial and error, and see what my temps are when the card arrives but preliminary opinions are useful too.

Also the bottleneck is minimal because i play on 1440p, so you don’t have to worry about that.

Need windows for cam and I can’t format my disk to install windows on it. The disk had Ubuntu on it. I thought formatting a disk would wipe it.

Just returned from a vacation to find the bottom of my 244hz Samsung monitor glitched out like this at the bottom. Is there a way to tell if it’s fixable or just plain broken?

I was gonna get a gaming laptop, but I'm considering my options, & found 3 gaming desktops that may be better for me, so I figured I'd see which is better for me.

Hi sorry if i miss any details but for the past couple years ive been experiencing instability with my pc its got a AMD 5600x and RX 6600 it should run every title I play (overwatch, fortnite, cloverpit, bullets per minute) no problem but I frequently experience very rythmic lagging/stuttering in low graphic settings with good internet. specifically this smaller game slapshot rebound its the craziest thing for months at a time ill be fine playing no issues then one morning ill open it up and experience unplayable lag with nothing changing, even in offline modes i dont know what to dooo
