Discussion I never imagined that integrated graphics cards in non-gaming laptops would evolve to this extent.
It seems there is a bright future for integrated graphics, given how much they are evolving.

hello, my ram on my lenovo legion 5 arh7 broke and I'm trying to buy a new one but rams are so expensive nowadays. I'm on a tight budget as a student but also loves gaming.
I'm asking if 1 stick of 16gb is better than 2 sticks of 8gb. a lot say 16gb is better due to the possibility of upgrading in the future but with the prices as it is I don't think I'll ever go for a 2x16gb. I need opinions

I've looked a little through the other posts but I guess having my own post would help me more.
LAPTOP QUESTIONNAIRE
Country: Germany
Budget: 700-800 Euros
Are you open to refurbs/used: No
Screen size: 15"-16"
Weight limit: Don't care
Purpose: Mostly to study and write, entertainment like music and streaming services, video/ conforence calls, should be able to work with AI since I test different programms in a part-time job.
I do a lot of research online and type quite a lot. I've had the problem that often used keys on my keyboard stopped working after a while.
Form factor: Standard/Clamshell (a regular laptop)
Desired battery life: around 6h
I would like to work with a Windows Laptop again. So far I had acer, dell and hp. Maybe around 500 GB SSD, at least 16 maybe 32 RAM. I have no idea what kind of graphic card or what else is important. Not a big fan of the AMD ones. I used i5 and i7 so far.
The AI usage for my job is mostly to test if the programms used are good at what they are intended for. I don't code or do much else with them.
Any help is appreciated 🙏😊

Hello, I have searched for a laptop for around 1500euro, but nothing good caught my eye, so I decided not to up my budget, but to go lower and i would like ur help for buying one. For context I (23m) need to buy my first laptop after using an iPad for my whole adult life because of a new job I’m starting. I am not the most tech savvy person so I have very little concept of what my options are.
I was told the program I’d be using at my job should be compatible with any laptop, as it can be accessed online, but it is a very new program

• Are you open to refurbs/used options?: yes
• Screen size: Any

-Maybe store some photos/videos that I don’t have room on iCloud for
-Never been into gaming much, but now that I have a laptop I might depending on its capabilities. Again, not a must-have

The new Lenovo Ideapad Vibe just released for pre-order and I’ve had my eye on it for a while. Love Lenovo laptops and love the fun colors of this release.
I would love some help configuring the best model of it. For memory I’m going with 16GB. What should I do for Processor? Any other specs I should consider? I kind of want to max it out!
I’ll be using it for everyday things, email, work, light photo editing, nothing crazy. I will also be doing some light gaming on it, don’t need anything intense.
Would love some opinions on a configuration build out for it! Let me know if you have any questions that can help with the build!

yellow,
I'm not sure where I should ask this but I recently bought this laptop https://www.asus.com/fr/laptops/for-home/vivobook/asus-vivobook-16-oled-m1605/
And can't seem to find a solution for a problem on dead keys like ^^, instead of waiting for an input, it instantly enters both accents, the same happens for ¨¨. Doesn't seem to be a hardware related issue, nor about the region my keyboard is set in. These keys do work when writing on things like the Windows start menu search bar, etc. And it actually works rarely for a while, and I have no idea what could be the cause.
Danke.

I can't power it on. I plug the laptop but its charging light doesn't on and can't trun it on. I decided to open it to see is there are any problems. Any idea?
Side note: The battery died and I have to plug my laptop 24/7 to use.

Looking to get a new laptop as my old HP Spectre X360 (loved this thing) is on the end of its life
I’ve come across a lot of options and now feel more confused based on my needs. I do a little bit of gaming (would like to run Minecraft and terraria at high FPS), video editing, business work, and have gotten into AI coding.
People rave about laptops like the MacBook Pro. I have heard good things about ASUS and Lenovo laptops. I need something that will fit my needs and is portable as I travel a lot. Let me know your best recommendations and the specs that I should get. At a minimum I’m thinking 16 GB ram (also considered 24 GB) and 1 TB SSD.
Let me know your thoughts and recommendations.
Edit: I just realized I have to fill out this form. Hopefully this helps
The Form

I’m wondering why most of the vent on the bottom of the laptop is covered by this black tape or film. Is this common?

So recently my asus tuf motherboard got cooked I was thinking to get a new laptop and I hv someone who's staying in USA will be visiting india soon so i told him to get me a laptop
He bought me this laptop HP OmniBook X Flip 16gb ram 1Tb SSD Intel® Core™ Ultra 7 256V Processor
It costs around 80k in USA and 1lakh + in India
Since it's from usa I'm little concerned because if it has any issues then it doesn't cover warranty out of USA
So can u guys give ur opinion on this laptop is it a good choice or not?

For starters, it may not look like much to y’all, but this T550 GPU is a life saver. I can play 90% of my Steam library with ease. It can even cough out BeamNG.Drive at playable frame rates once everything is loaded in. I want to be able to use this laptop for light gaming, moderate CAD and moderate video editing (only 1080p) for the next few years. I’d also like to emulate older systems. If all else fails, I’d love to still be using this for basic stuff 5 years from now too. So would this laptop be worth the 250 dollar investment to triple its storage and increase the RAM by 50%? Or do you guys think this would be a bad investment?

I found an old laptop I forgot I had tucked away in a closet, a Toshiba Satellite E45t-B4106. I think I bought it in 2014 or so. As a fun project, I'm wondering if it would be worth upgrading the RAM and storage (HDD to SSD). I haven't upgraded laptop components before so this would be a cool learning experience. Given its age, the memory would be 16gb of DDR3 (cheap) and I think I could find reasonably priced SSDs once I start looking.
Anyway, curious what the community thinks. I'd likely wipe and reinstall Windows (pretty sure Windows 8 is still installed). The last time I used it was, I think, 2019. It's been a while. My plan is to use it for light gaming or streaming when I'm on the road for work. Any insight or thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi I’m looking for a laptop with a more ram and similar storage to my old laptop and stumbled upon a Lenovo idea pad slim for £600 refurbished that comes with 24G of ddr5 and 512G of storage,I’m mostly going to be using this laptop for school work and a quite a bit of gaming so the everything but storage is not a priority and I’d honestly not use the ai portion.but would be nice as I’d like to branch out into pc gaming.
