I am planning to buy a laptop and would appreciate some advice from people working in software development, data analytics, and AI.

I will be using laptop for these purposes:
1. AI development learning
2. software development (will be using vscode, docker, wsl, sql, etc..)
3. data analysis (will be using power bi, excel, sql, etc…)

Should i spend extra for heavy laptops with GPU or buy thinkpad or something and learn AI development in that and use some cloud service for testing models?

Also would appreciate any laptop suggestions within 1100 $.

11+ year old retina macbook pro (early 2015) a1502. broken display. Has an i7, 16gb ram, 512gb ssd. Shop I know(where I recently got a used t14 from) said he can get iit replaced for somewhere between $150 to $175(all included).

Is that a good price? I wasn't sure if that was the official price, coz apple wouldn't share that information.

Hi all, I recently broke my laptop during a fall and consequently broke the screen. The laptop seems to power on and function fine as I connected it to an external display and it was ok, but the screen doesnt seem to function anymore despite all my efforts. What should I be doing; look for a quick fix or just get it properly repaired?

I bought this lenovo ThinkPad t16 gen 1 with an 32 gb ram ,1 tb SSD ,12th gen intel i7 -1270p and it is an vpro version and this also has an 56.5 watthour battery and I bought these for around $700

And this was a used one with no cosmetic damage and I'm a cs student still in school I use this for youtube , browsing, sm times I think of editing and downloaded aftereffect but it lagged like hell so I switched out to davinci but never tried to edit sm lol 😂

So is this a good deal guys and I have an one year warranty for this from the seller and this is a good machine for multitasking

And one more thing guys it's battery was pristine and its percentage was around 104% and Claude said it's more than good because it is still in the early stage of its battery life but in future im thinking of maxing out on battery

I have been gaming for almost an year on my Acer Aspire Ryzen r7 7000 series with 16 GB ram, AMD Radeon (TM) Graphics (496 MB) and 512 GB ssd.
Its smooth overall. I completed all Arkham Games along with hitman games and a few others to name.
But the newer games run very laggy and even the ones I already play heat up my laptop because of all the performance.
I have been considering an external graphics card for a while but I want to know whether they are worth the purchase or not.

I have no idea where to go to fix this or if it can still function, im worried that turning it on might mess something up somehow. its only been a day and i lwk miss playing roblox on it

hi! first post here. ive been gaming on a Dell inspirion laptop for about 5 years now and its just horrible. it runs terribly and im ready to upgrade to an actual gaming laptop but i dont know where to start.
im hoping to buy a used laptop but i honestly dont know what brands are good.

I have two main questions for anyone who has ordered a CTO Legion recently:

1. What was your actual delivery timeline?

How long did it take for yours to arrive from the day you placed the order?

1. What exactly should I check while receiving the box from the delivery guy?

When the courier is standing at my door, what are the absolute must-dos before signing or sharing the OTP?

* Does Lenovo India do Open Box Delivery (OBD) for these, or do I just accept the sealed box?

* Aside from taking an uncut unboxing video showing the shipping label, are there any red flags on the packaging that should make me refuse delivery outright?

So recently I bought a Major erazer X20 laptop but when I plugged it In my monitor the monitor Hz would only come up to 144hz( it's a 165hz AOC monitor) I tried changing the hdmi cable and bought a new one also that supports more than 144hz and it didn't work,tried making a new new resolution with Nvidia control panel and it worked the windows settings said 165hz but in games I could only put it to 144hz max

The laptop screen is 240hz and it's worked in games I could pull it up to 240hz

Honestly Idk what to do (my laptop only has one hdmi port so no dpi for me I guess)

I'm asking because I wanna buy a 240hz oled monitor but I don't wanna waste my money if it's gonna be stuck at 144hz like my monitor now

The right side where there is no mesh is where the cpu fan sits. The laptop sits on a cooling pad 95% of the time, so would removing the mesh help airflow? I don't mind cleaning out the dust once in a while
