Hi. I recently bought vstorm and was looking for a helmet. This is my first helmet and my first personal owned bike. I've been a scooty plus occasional bike guy so far.

I wanted my budget to be around 6k for the new helmet. I went to a few stores and tried out smk typhoon, mt, kyt tt, etc.

Really liked the fit and quality Storm 2 and did an impulse purchase. Ended up spending ~12k on the helmet.

I'm not sure if I should feel guilty about it. It isn't a budget constraint but whether someone new like me did the right decision on the purchase. Did I overspent?

I'm 30 years old and planning to buy a motorcycle with good power that I can keep for the long term.

I've been interested in the Honda CB650R, but I'm not sure whether Honda will relaunch it in India anytime soon. Should I wait and see if it comes back, or should I go ahead and buy another bike that's currently available?

I'm not looking to upgrade every few years. I want to buy one good, powerful bike that I can enjoy for a long time without feeling the need to move to something bigger.

I’ve been wanting to buy a proper bike for almost 2 years. I used to feel it every time I saw a good 350 on the road. Now I finally switched jobs and my in-hand salary crossed ₹1L/month, but the job security is not as strong as my previous one.

I’m the sole earner in my family. We don’t have major assets or savings apart from a house in my village. I have family health insurance, and I’ve built a separate emergency fund. I also have a separate amount saved specifically for the bike, so I can make a solid down payment and take a short loan only for the rest.

My usage:

- Around 20 km/day in Hyderabad city traffic

- Casual long rides on weekends/outskirts

Around 2 long trips a month, roughly 500 km one way

- I need good pillion comfort because I’m a family man

- I don’t want to change bikes for at least 6 years

Bikes I’m considering:

350cc: Hunter 350, Meteor 350, Classic 350, Triumph Speed T4, Honda CB350RS

160cc: Apache RTR 160 4V, Pulsar N160

My parents are against buying a 350 because I’m the only earner and they feel I should focus on stability, savings, and being financially ready before marriage. I understand their concern, but I also feel that if I keep waiting for the “perfect” financial situation, I may keep delaying the thing that has given me motivation for two years.

I can earn more in the future, but I can’t get back this age and these memories.

So what wanted to know what would you do if you're in my position?

1. Buy the 350cc bike now with a strong down payment and short EMI

2. Buy a 160cc bike now and upgrade later

3. Wait another 6–12 months, build more savings, then buy the 350

Also, among the 350s, which one would you pick for Hyderabad traffic + long rides + pillion comfort? I’m leaning towards Hunter 350 for city use, but Meteor 350 for pillion comfort. Speed T4 is tempting but feels financially riskier.

What I'm looking for

Boots: road riding boots that lean towards track boots. Not offroad boots, and not strictly track-only, but close to that style. Budget ₹20k to ₹40k.

Helmet: full face. Budget ₹20k to ₹40k.

I'm after premium brands for both. For boots, I'm thinking Gaerne, SIDI or Alpinestars.

The problem
As far as I can tell, none of these brands are sold in any store in Pune. I'm happy to travel to Mumbai if there's a shop there that stocks them. I know a few websites sell them, but I'm wary of ordering online because of sizing.

My current boots are Gaerne and they're worn out now. I know my size in that brand, but switching to another brand could mean a half size difference, and I don't want to gamble on that. Ordering from outside India makes it worse, since returns and import duties get messy.

What I'd love to know

Route: Harlur ⇄ Brigade Road (~120–180 mins daily round trip)
Ride: Yamaha FZS (bought in March)

The Problem: 4–5 months of this bumper-to-bumper stretch has brought on severe glute and tailbone pain.
Constraint: Upgrading to a bigger, more comfortable bike isn't in the budget right now—I need to optimize this machine.
What I’ve tried:
Added a 5mm soft cushion + soft leather seat cover—helped maybe 20%, but the deep ache sets in pretty fast.

Looking for your top recommendations on:

Seat & Ergonomics: Is custom density foam or gel inserts the way to go? Would handlebar risers shift weight off the tailbone effectively? Any go-to seat craftsmen or mod shops in Bangalore?
Suspension Tuning: Can adjusting or swapping the rear suspension soften the impact over bad potholes, or is the FZS frame inherently stiff?
Quick Mileage Check: Currently getting 39–40 kmpl in peak stop-and-go traffic. Is this normal for the FZS in heavy city conditions, or should I get something inspected during service?

I rented H411 , the handle was wobbling at lower speed and after puncture on my long ride, I happened to came across RE service centre in Mysore, they inspected the front wheel was bent , though they did something to last for the whole ride but suggested to replace the rim

Second incident, I rented bear 650 , for city commute just to feel the bike, and I found there was some rev limiter installed, the bike was behaving like a 350 and it was so irritating that I cannot feel the 650 character , the torque and the speed.

So, the thing is , rentals are just game of luck. I have rented from RB a lot, but I have 2 such poor experience to share rest all are satisfactory
