I see a lot of kawasaki is outdated posts in this sub and have genuine doubts on whats outdated?
Iโm of an age group where my first bike may be older than many of you.
My understanding is that- there is no ageing in machines if their performance matches the current years thermodynamic limits, manufacturing limits, performance limits etc.
If the engine still produces as much power and torque as an engine designed in 2024, is as smooth as an engine in 2024, meets or exceeds the reliability of latest engines, meets the output curves of latest engines, weight characteristics of latest engines, what exactly is outdated?
If the chassis is still comfortable, competent, reliable, ergonomic, meets manufacturers price specs, etc how is it outdated?
For example - if a box section swing arm performs same or 95% of alloy swing arm, how does it matter in day to day life? That peak 5% gains may be u will only see on tracks?
How does upside down or telescopic fork for a 300cc road going bike matter? How is telescopic fork inferior on pothole ridden roads?
The only thing outdated i see in the 300s kawasaki is the speedo. But again, the old one is functional, it doesnt have missing functionality from motoring perspective. I agree that colorfull tft displays looks nice. May be navigation features and bluetooth would be nice- but again turn by turn navigation is not as good as android auto. So unless android auto comes to bikes, tbt is nothing great.
Bluetooth is useful if you can see caller id, answer or reject calls, else that too is useless.
Lets be honest here, the bigger pain with kawasaki is their spares pricing and service cost. The cost of labour will be as much as a big bike and spares cost too. That will be the limitation point.
Very few in the 300+ cc segment are comfortable for daily city riding. The heat in traffic, the roughness, the low fuel efficiency, the frequent gear changes all are painful. Kawasaki runs cooler.
Ok- ktm 350 may be better in out rigjt acceleration but it buzzes, heats up badly, doesnt rev beyond 10k, has poor low end torque.
A kawasaki at 10 yrs point will still be as reliable as new but ktm doesnt feel same after 5 yrs.
Why are you all yapping so much about old old old? Kawasaki 300 is bullet proof, 15k revving, vibe free, platform.
From my point of view- the longer a platform is in production- the better it is from ownership point of view. Spares will be cheap, mechanics will be used to repairing it, spares available for a long long time.
For example- a pulsar from 2005 or 10 still has plenty of spare availability and serviceability. A cbz star/extreme/karizma [r/zmr/xmr](r/zmr/xmr), honda cbr, none have spare availability or serviceability like a pulsar 220.
Enlighten me on why you guys think a vibey, burning, poorer reliability like tvs 300 etc are better? Tft displays/cruise control/lap timer?
If people are asking for led lights, indicators, tft displays, may be just providing them increase kawasaki sales? But again- does tft display work even after 10 yrs? Ate halogens better in rain and even day to day driving?
Agree, newer abs functionalities like lean angle sensing, etc would be useful. But i dont see issues with the chassis, engine, suspension itself . Even quick shifter.

so, here's what i think. imagine u started on a small twin sport bike. maybe a ninja 300/400, 457, gt etc. can throw the duke 390 in the similar category because of how it pulls. i do understand the concerns about maybe 600s or liter bikes or even the big twins like the ninja 650, rs660, 765, tiger/gs 900 class bikes etc (some are triples but ya you get the segment idea)
the small twins or short stroke singles, they have very quick acceleration and so even accidentally pulling the throttle too hard will take u too fast or maybe on the duke, etc pull a wheelie you cant control.
imagine you start on a splendor/activa where you can wring the throttle and still not exceed into unsafe speeds and the acceleration is gradual or slow. with this habit if you upgrade too soon, you are at risk of pulling throttle the same way on a big bike and flying off. but if you start on a duke or a gt and have some common sense, you learn throtle discipline and know what gentle throttling means.
so i feel the problematic thing is jumping from a 100-150cc class commuter or a scooty to a powerful bike than starting out on a big bike. i started on a meteor 350 where i can dump the clutch (kinda exaggerated, but almost) in 2nd gear and still not stall because of the ecu magic and low end torque. i can wring the throttle in 2nd gear and barely cross 60 after 2 working days. so me carrying this habit on a gt will send me flying into 100s or at least 90s kmph.
what do the experts and experienced folk of this sub think about this? is this a stupid take? does it make sense at least partially? saw a few posts and comments about the rs457 being a "super"bike for india and had free time to think a little too much maybe

I want to get a exhaust that looks good and has pretty good bass with loudness also. Already riding classic 350 with whale exhaust. In my preference i have rino racing smv2, Gursewak Bass booster exhaust, KP racing bass master any other?? Or which is best among these
I dont mean only loud i meant that it should be Enfield loud to hear bass as rhino v2 is basssy but not loud to hear properly. If i wanted loud only I may also put an long or short punjab on 350 . I just want bassy and enough loud not any motive of disturbing people

I'm looking to buy my first bike. I've ridden a bike a few times and am comfortable with the basics, like changing gears, but I'd consider myself still a beginner. And my dad will also be using it, he's always wanted to buy one since growing up he had to choose scooters because of family circumstances.
I'm considering the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, but I'm wondering if it's too much for someone at my experience level, especially given its price.
How beginner-friendly is it, handling the bike's weight, moving it around in parking lots, slow-speed manoeuvres, and handling it in city traffic? Would you recommend starting with something smaller, or is the Interceptor manageable if I'm willing to take my time learning?
I'm also open to suggestions for other bikes I should consider. Would love to hear your experiences and advice.

I WANT AN R15 SO BAD, BUT IT LOOKS SMALL ON ME ๐ญ
For reference, I'm 5'10 with limbs on the larger side
Any generation works, but
Js bcz of height I'm leaning more towards the old rc200 for power and proportions
The r15 is seriously so beautiful, reliable, easygoing, and a great bike
But the RC200's pure performance and aggressive looks and power delivery is what made it unreliable but lovable at the same time
The sheer fvcking compression ratio wears out everything between 25k to 40k kms, and u need a whole emgine rebuild
On the other hand, you could still run soms, yzf r15 v1 to v4 today without any issues, even past 40k kms
Comfort isn't even a choice bcz this bike is SUPPOSED TO BE SPORTY. When u buy a sporty bike plz don't complain about comfort. It is meant to be uncomfortable for performance.

Hey guys. I'm owning karizma XMR (2023). I'm facing an issue with my bike. There is little oil leakage in my engine head. I'm monitoring the oil level daily and the oil level is fine. I will soon give my bike for service to fix the leakage. Also I have another problem. When I kill the engine after riding for more than half an hour and try to start it again, the engine turns on for a second and shuts down. If I leave it for more than 10 to 15 mins to cool down and start, it turns on normally. Is this due to the oil leakage or any heating issue? The temperature shows normal in the cluster, the coolant level is fine and the radiator also works properly. When I kill the engine, the oil symbol shows in the cluster. It doesn't appear when the engine is on. I don't remember if the oil symbol shows up after killing the engine even before I had this issue. I am not sure if I explain this problem in the service center, they will fix it. Because I'm fed up with hero service. They will do nothing and say that the issue is fixed. But it will happen again. Does any one have any idea about this issue?

My experience with Royal Brothers, Banglore is not great tbh
I rented H411 , the handle was wobbling at lower speed and after puncture on my long ride, I happened to came across RE service centre in Mysore, they inspected the front wheel was bent , though they did something to last for the whole ride but suggested to replace the rim
Second incident, I rented bear 650 , for city commute just to feel the bike, and I found there was some rev limiter installed, the bike was behaving like a 350 and it was so irritating that I cannot feel the 650 character , the torque and the speed.
So, the thing is , rentals are just game of luck. I have rented from RB a lot, but I have 2 such poor experience to share rest all are satisfactory
I'm posting this for my future ride, I love in remote area and work in a job there I have no WFH setup where I can plan 10+ days holidays going on very long trips. I usually go to City via flight/train/bus and then rent a bike and go for places I've planned for. Also, my objective is to feel the bike whatever i resonate with like Vstrom 250, H411,h450k(was never lucky to get one), thriumph 400, bear 650 SM650 I've tried
I want to experience the stock experiwnce w/o any limiter or any throttle limiter on the bike. Recommendations please ๐ฅบ๐ฅบ

I got lotta in questions asking about how much my wrapping cost, i did wrap myself so raw cost was 2500/- wrap 25 square feet, 1099/- labour cost (dismantling and assembling panels) 690/- (hot air gun) rest were miscellaneous costs including squeegee, small tools etc. Wrapping in case done in professionally quote was 12000/- and i found it quite expensive.

Hey guys,
Iโm thinking about buying a used Honda CB300R, but the main thing holding me back is that itโs discontinued in India.
Iโm upgrading from a Honda CB125 Hornet and want something fun and exciting to ride, especially in the city and on highways. I ride around 40โ55 km daily, and the roads here have potholes and speed breakers.
My main concerns are:
โ Will spare parts be available in the future?
โ How much does maintenance cost?
โ Is it reliable as a used bike?
โ What about resale value since itโs discontinued?
โ Is it worth keeping for the next 3โ5 years?
My budget is around โน2 lakh on-road. Should I buy a used CB300R, or would it be better to get a new bike like the Honda NX200?
Iโd really appreciate honest opinions, especially from current or previous CB300R owners. Would you buy this bike again today?
Thanks!

Planning to buy Stealth Air Pro for my Delhi to Pune trip next month, initially went for all black Tornado Pro 4, but i like the fit on Stealth better. But not sure about red color elements (wanted all black).
Fit wise at 5โ11โโ, size XL fits really well and feels very comfortable.
I really like the double chain as you can open it from bottom for better comfort. (Previous owners - does this feature really helps?)
So should i pull the trigger on this one or look out for other all-black option from a different brand.
