After so many ifs and buts Iโ€™ve finally convinced myself that Iโ€™m going to buy the Interceptor 650. No GT, no Himmi, no GRR, no Duke. Itโ€™s going to be the Interceptor. But Iโ€™m still unable to decide which colour to get. Black is my favourite colour but green looks classy and unique too. And the Royal Enfield logo looks absolutely gorgeous on it. ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’š

#Discussion ๐Ÿ’ฌ BSA GOLDSTAR 650 or TRIUMPH BONEVILLE T40 or HONDA CB500 - HELP ME CHOOSE

Post image
โ€ข Upvotes

Looking for a relaxed, torquey bike for hill rides with a pillion. My priorities:

๐Ÿ”๏ธ Strong low-end torque for steep, narrow hill roads and hairpin bends.

๐Ÿ›‹๏ธ Comfortable, smooth ride with the** least vibratio**n and good pillion comfort.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Preferably some cornering safety tech like the Triumph offers.

๐Ÿ”ง Simple ownership and hassle-free annual servicing.

๐Ÿ’ก Love the BSAโ€™s halogen headlight and instrument cluster!

I donโ€™t ride aggressively or care about top speed. I want a bike that pulls effortlessly at low speeds and makes hill riding enjoyable.

A couple of questions:

Which would you choose for my needs, and why?

Is servicing the BSA more of a hassle than the Triumph?

Can I test-ride all three in Chennai, or would I need to go to Bangalore? Ideally, Iโ€™d love to try them on actual hill roads!

Would love to hear any thoughts, experiences and suggestions! ๐Ÿ๏ธ

#EnthusiastZone ๐Ÿ’จ Z300,why this might be a win for kawasaki

I am trying to give a detailed analysis on this bike and comparing with the competition.

[i have not used AI not even spell correct so this is just raw info]....And i am planning to buy something which is in 3-3.5lakh on-road and power figures in (40-45hp)as my second bike.

1)lets talk about PRICE first, as the japanese brands tend to screw up the pricing of their products.

Approx 3lakh ex-showroom, well i think it can be (2.9 to 3.1L), i said 3.1 because the ninja 300 after gst cuts costed around 3.17L but they hiked the price to 3.34L(17k increment) this year july with no mechanical and cosmetic updates obviously to make room for upcoming z300

and it is actually a really good deal if we compare it with direct competitor bikes :

  • duke 390R- 3.46L
  • duke 350- 2.85L
  • rc390- 3.33L
  • 310rr,gs310- 2.66L-2.90L

not the direct competitors ;

  • himalayan 3L,interceptor 3.4L,cb500 2.75L,scrambler 400x 2.66L

the main competitor is duke 390r and on road pricing where i live is (4.17L) and z300 might cost on road(3.6-3.65L) the diff may be 55K which is huge

lets talk abt the elephant in the room the maintenance costs

  • as i have checked the K-care package is 43k for total 8 services and extended warranty for 4 years it still costs under dukes price, and many people wont care abt it but have u guys seen the price hikes on engine oils(due to the ongoing w@rs), so its good to consider k-care too, u might actually save some money

2)ENGINE

lets be honest the jap smoothness and reliability is unmatched but the power figures are imp too;

390r- 45.3bhp@8500, 39nm@6500rpm [25-30kmpl mileage]

z300- 39bhp@11k, 26nm@10krpm [25-28kmpl mileage]

the duke torque figures are the same as z300's hp figures LOL so that alone shows the power delivery difference between these two bikes and that is huge diff but

  • i have seen many ninja 300 reviews and a frnd of mine owns one they said from 3000-5000rpm there is actually plenty of torque and thats where we usually drive in city limits and from 5000-8000rpm there is some linear power delivery idk why
  • [A imp point here, at around 8000rpm the bike stays at 120kmph which is great because after 8k rpm u will lose mileage and the peak torque is yet to come so the engine is not stressed and the overtakes at 120-130kmph actually feel crisp and fast because of peak torque is yet to come at 10k] and from 8000rpm onwards it opens up pretty good and like all the high revving engines it gives plenty of power(revs upto 13k rpm), it will be a highway cruising king easily doing 120-130kmph without any stress

and as for duke we dont have to talk much abt it because it is clearly powerful and a street king but not as good as this in highway

3)pro:-

  • tft display, smartphone connectivity, turn by turn navigation pretty common in bikes these days
  • low seat height
  • good pricing even after k-care
  • good resale value
  • only twin cylinder bike in this price range
  • reliability and less weight around 170-kg closer to dukes weight
  • if the suspension(not usd which is good for our roads) is not bad u can do small road trips too with twin cyl engine easily cruising at 120kmph and with 17liter fuel tank
  • rareity on roads and we all know the bad reputation of dukes because of some people

4)cons:- i am not biased on this bike so let me be clear about all the cons

  • not getting led turn signals in big 2026 is crazy but we can change later on, no big deal
  • even though the pricing is good but still if u have any parts replacement or to change wear and tear parts it will cost twice the price of dukes parts because of imports and the only way to get out of this situation is to buy aftermarket parts and at that price they offer more quality and value than the kawasaki's parts ( be aware of warranty)
  • not getting usd is not a con for me but good brakes are essential and they are not bad and not good either so we have to upgrade them
  • low ground clearance 140-145mm
  • not having cornering abs, traction control (usd is not given so the cornering stability is not good so they should have given cornering abs and Traction control)
  • as i have said 5000-8000rpm range is linear so it might feel sluggish
  • tyres are good for cruising and commuting and long lasting but not great for spirited driving
  • and a major issue my frnd told me that at 80kmph if the handle is released from ur hands there is a handle wobbling issue in ninja300 and it wont wobble once u reach triple digit speeds which is very dangerous and hope its not there in z300

it is actually a good thing that kawasaki hasnt launched z500 because that bike will cost 5L because of gst and import taxes and this bike z300 is the sweet spot for indians

i think i have caught the major points about this bike and i couldnt find any cons except for these so please let me know any hidden issue with kawasakis's in general or particularly with 300cc platforms so it will be helpful for me and other buyers

Edit: the ninja 300 is relaunched in north america and they might add z300 to the lineup as well

And if they had launched it as a z300rs (the classic bike) it wouldve been so much great

{pic reference is actually a z900 not a z300}

#Video ๐Ÿ“บ Autumn in Ladakh (October 2026)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Living in NCR, you basically get two seasons: โ€œIs this a sauna?โ€ and โ€œIs this a polluted freezer?โ€ Autumn here is really just smog with good PR. The closest we get to "fall colors" is the AQI map turning different shades of red.

So yeah, Iโ€™d never actually seen autumn. Not until Ladakh.

Imagine whole valleys glowing gold, orange, and red, like someone cranked the saturation to 100 and forgot to tell me. You've got these bright trees popping against bare, brown mountains, under a sky so blue it felt illegal.

I kept pulling the bike over. Not because the roads were bad, but because my brain was literally buffering. For a guy who thought fall colors were just a Netflix aesthetic, this was wild to process.

Growing up in NCR gives you a weird kind of swagger. Ladakh gave me a third season and humbled me in about ten minutes flat.

If youโ€™re from the NCR bubble and have only ever known the summer-winter binary, do yourself a favor and go see a real autumn. Your phone camera wonโ€™t do it justice, and honestly, neither will my editing.

Season three: unlocked. Now Iโ€™m just wondering what season four looks like.

#Query โ“ Confused about my first bike โ€” need some suggestions

โ€ข Upvotes

I'm 183 cm, 90 kg, muscular build, broad shoulders and looking to buy my first bike. My daily commute is around 40 km in Bangalore traffic.

I've test-ridden a few bikes so far:

- KTM 390 Adventure: Good overall, but engine heat and low-end performance in traffic were disappointing.

- Himalayan 450: Didn't really like it. Maybe the test bike wasn't great.

- V-Strom SX: Loved how smooth and linear it felt in traffic, but it lacks some features.

- GT 650: Rode my friend's bike and absolutely loved it, but the riding posture would probably kill my back in traffic.

- RR 310: Similar concerns about the riding posture.

I'm now considering the Guerrilla 450, but haven't found a test bike yet.

I know I'm trying to get everything in one bike, which probably isn't realistic. I want something fun, comfortable for daily commuting, good-looking, and practical enough for Bangalore traffic.

What would you guys recommend? Should I consider the Guerrilla 450, give the Himalayan or KTM another chance, or go with the V-Strom SX?

Would love to hear from actual owners, especially those riding in Bangalore traffic.
