I'm developing Ember Lives, a fantasy idle MMORPG that runs in a browser. It is completely free, with a guest start and one shared worldwide server. English, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Russian and Hindi are available.

You choose a character's ancestry, origin and profession, then let them adventure, gather or work automatically. Combat and production have separate levels. The opening progresses faster, while later growth is deliberately slow; workshops and processing facilities unlock higher-tier recipes as they level up. Offline progress is calculated when you return, with a 12-hour catch-up cap per update.
The part I'm most interested in is making other players matter even in an idle game. Gatherers supply materials, producers make equipment and consumables, and player-to-player trade goes through national markets. Buying abroad creates a delivery job for a merchant. A convoy takes real time, its escorts share the journey, and valuable cargo can be robbed. Players can also rescue fallen characters, rebuild forward camps and contribute to reclaiming occupied regions.
This is an early playable alpha with a small population, not a finished or large-scale-tested MMO. Balance and onboarding still need work. In particular, a foreign order currently waits for a merchant to accept it and has no cancellation option, so local buying is the better place to start.
I'd appreciate feedback on the first 15 minutes: is it clear what your profession is doing and what you earned? Does the slower growth feel satisfying? For the economy, where would waiting on another player become frustrating rather than interesting?
AI Disclosure
Generative AI was used extensively in development: much of the code was generated or edited with Codex; portraits, illustrations and UI art use AI-generated assets, including PixelLab; the music was AI-generated. AI also assisted game text, translations and this post. Gameplay itself uses predefined simulation rules and does not call a generative AI model while you play.
Update (15 October): Russian and Hindi are now live, bringing the game to six languages. Each kingdom also has 10 clearly marked NPC gatherers stocking basic materials to help with early shortages; player market listings remain preferred for automatic procurement. Rare dungeon materials still come from expeditions.
