Class Advice Needed/Given Have I ruined my chances at getting into a good college?
So essentially what’s happening is that I’m in my sophomore year and we’re in the first quarter of the school year. Each quarter is a separate grading period and I got a 3.5 gpa. Unlike my freshman year where I maintained 4.0 the entire year. I’m honestly just scared and I’m not sure if I’m overreacting.

Rant I feel like a hopeless,pathetic,loser.
galleryLast year I had everything, I was in band, I had friends, and I felt super smart. But now I legit have nothing. I left band after being sexually harassed and bullied while my band director did nothing. Actually he told me that walking out of rehearsal was not the appropriate action after getting sexually harassed and implied that it was my fault for the way things went down. All my friends bullied me. I had gained weight and did not want to stand up for myself. So now I’m in junior year, no friends. I sit alone at lunch and do homework for one of my 12 classes and lock in. I always wanted to be valedictorian but recently I found out since I got a B in algebra one and geometry(which I took in middle school) taht may not be possible. So now I’m overcompensating by taking all these online AP courses. I feel pathetic trying to be something I’m not because I don’t plan on going to college after high school, since I do not need it. Additionally, I will be graduating with my AA degree so I thought that would be good enough. Anyways things recently got super overwhelming when I applied for this “tomorrow leaders” program. This program basically selects 40 students taht are juniors and has them work with current leaders to fix community issues. Six people applied from my school including me. I was the only one who did not get it. So now I feel this wave of emotions like what I’m doing is not good enough and that im stupid. I though I would have this Elle Woods moment with my old band director if I got in where I could kind of rub it in his face that I am a good person and I am smart enough to do anything, but now I’m left like a total idiot for even trying and feeling bad about
Life. I am not suicidal, my parents have been amazing taking me to Disney, buying me whatever, but my school and social life is horrible and I want to fix something and so im not so dependable on my academic life. I know it’s pretty pathetic to come on here and rant about life but I don’t want to keep these emotions built up and then I just blow up like a cartoon.
Thank you for reading

Class Advice Needed/Given My friend asked me to critique his essay. I’m more concerned.
galleryHello! My (17M) friend (16M) recently asked me for assistance on what seems like a pretty monumental essay for his grade. He sent me his finished piece, and .. well. I was shocked.
He’s a junior in high school (11th grade), and I’m a senior (12th grade). This writing isn’t gibberish, but it’s.. It looks incredibly barren for what someone his grade should be writing.
I was beginning to markup his paper when he told me to stop, because he turned it in and got a perfect mark. Am I crazy?! I wasn’t even finished editing the first paper when he messaged me that he’d gotten an A.
I really feel like the school system just wants to push him out and isn’t taking any time to build his essay-writing or general english skills. Apparently, he told me it’s the same with mathematics (he expressed that he knows he’s delayed when it comes to mathematics).
Am I being hypercritical, or is this essay just not up to par? A few of our other friends told me I’m just being an asshole, but I’m genuinely concerned that they’re just passing kids because they don’t want to spend the time honing their academic skills.
I’ve offered to tutor him and he accepted, but our other friends say I’m dragging it out and that it isn’t this serious.
What about when a college asks for a 10-pager? What about any college work, actually??
Help!!! 😭 This is kind of an AITA post, I just really need a second opinion.

Rant Im in alg 1 pt 2
Freshman year i took alg 1 pt 1. They js moved me up and i wish i had an example of the work we r doing rn cuz we r just going over what we did last year rn but it’s literally (7-5)y when y = 2. And the ppl in my class are so stupid and consider me smart because i can do it in my head? We took a placement test at the end of 8th grade and i did rlly poorly on math but i never reallt learned any of the stuff on the test. I think i should of been in alg 1 last year and alg 2 this year. And now my school is omitting the course… SO I TOOK IT ALL FOR NOTHING! I also got a frickin award in math last year for knowing 1+1 😔
Part of me is like this is fine math is a big part of my gpa so doing good will bring it up. And last year i got all A’s. But another part is like im gonna have to take so much math in college but i dont know what level they require you to be at. And my teacher said to us we’ll prolly take geometry next year and then freaking alg 2 senior year! We dont even have to take math senior year but now i kinda feel forced too because i wont even know all the algebra concepts when i go into college. Fuck ill only know that 1+1 =2

Question Help me escape this hell pls
dude ok they have me in this GATED special edprogram at school which is a huge reason i stopped attending because FUCK THAT. its bad. its a very small area with only 2 class rooms and a counlers office and there's a gate surrounding it with a TARP or rag or wave over the gate. And during lunch you have to ask to use the bathroom and then a staff walks u to a gender neutral bathroom. One tome during MY lunch i asked and they made me wait. Admit thats cruel. ik I dont need this. But at my iep meeting they really want me there. Bc i didn't turn in assignments i finished because the teacher didnt tells us to. The fuck. They spoke about me like I was incapable of handling myself but I can. Ive been to Gen Ed before and its very simple but they speak about it likes its so overwhelming or whatever. These people are dumb. Im fucking 17 almost 18 and I dont even care about graduating or wtv cuz i got all Fs anyways. I kinda just want a high-school experience cuz I feel like I never rlly got one. Freshman year was good, sophomore year was miserable bc my friends sucked and I didnt go at all junior year. Now I really wanna have a decent senior year.
Im not going back to that program but I need an escape from this. The only thing I can think of is asking my parents to get rid of my iep cuz I dont need it anyways. Im just autistic and ive had atraight As in 8th grade. Im.not allowed to move schools either. But other than t hat method idk how to get out of this dumbass program. The days i did show up i came home in a bad mood bc i felt so degraded being there :<

Question Will having 2 free periods look bad to top 20 colleges?
For context, senior year my classes will be ap lit, ap gov, ap stats, ap physics, and DE multi variable calc and linear algebra. This is 5 classes but my school has a mandatory block where everyone cannot take a class and it’s called advisory where teachers give u advice and stuff. So i’ll have 2 extra free periods. Is this ok? If not, what classes should i take instead? (MIS major btw)

Question Starting a pro life club
I (junior) want to start a pro life club in my school. I’ve been thinking about it and I feel I know enough to start one (to defend my beliefs at least) and I’m very passionate about it. however we all know how pro choicers can be or just people who disagree with you in general. I’m juggling whether or not I should do it. I’m a bit intimidated by the backlash I will face and the way it will affect my school reputation but I can see that advocating against this is more important than that in the long run. I’m an abolitionist but I was considering using student for life’s start up kit to get a constitution, learning materials, and other training going. I know students for life is more pro gestation/pro circumstance but i think that may be good because I can get the material and also have it open to pro lifers who may not be abolitionist. What do you guys think, should I do it should I not. Do you have any advice?
I am NOT here to discuss or justify my views right now I’m looking for advice specifically on starting the club. i expect the onslaught of downvotes but don’t waste your time telling me how bad of a person I am please.

General Advice Needed/Given Why do my parents/teachers care so much about my work ethic, and why are my parents so annoyed with my grades.
First off, high, I'm whirl, a highschool freshman. I'm trying to be more open lately, and this seemed like the right place for this post.
It's not that I don't care about my future. I attended groups I'm 8th grade meant for sophomores and seniors, to find out more about college applications and payment plans. I already have a plan, a way to achieve it, very cost estimate amped out, and a back up plan, also fully mapped out and cost-calculated.
But I refuse to join clubs or other extracurricular activities. It's not that I just don't want to, though to be honest, I DON'T, but I also have severe social anxiety. I just don't show it, but my parents know about it.
One thing no th my parents and teachers hate? My work ethic. I don't do the work I don't like. This year I skipped 3 major assignments in a honors biology class, simply cause it was too much work. I asked for them to sign my Syllabus 6 weeks late. I just don't even try.
But I have an A in that honors biology class. I have an A in two more classless, and I'm also taking honors English. And marketing. Yesterday I had to do a presentation, had SIGNED UP to do it, and didn't do it for 3 weeks in till I had to make it in 20 minutes and present it right away.(I hot a B on it, lol).
But my teachers keep trying to make me do it a certain way, or do it in class, but I simply don't want to. And I'm not failing at all so why does it matter?
What my parents are even more passed about is that they paid for me too take a standard iq test, TWICE. And the first time it was 137, which they thought was a fluke, but the second time, 2 months later, it went up too 148.
Which yeah, that's in the "super superior" range in iq, but I refuse to USE it. It's simply not something I need to do. I'm still deciding if I want to try or not.
So if so none can please just tell me: am I actually wasting my potential? Why should I bother trying? Is my work ethic genuinely that bad?
I'm not trying to be snobby, I literally just don't see a problem, but everyone else does. And it's honestly making things harder in my life, so....what now? I just GIVE IN and LET them win?

General Advice Needed/Given How to Fix Grades in 2 Weeks
Hi. I’m a 10th grader wrestler and I have to get my grades up before October 29th. I’ve been struggling a lot with my mental health and attendance and in order to wrestle this season I need at least a 2.0 gpa. I want to seek advice as I’m really stressed out and I’m not sure what to do.
In chemistry I have 15 missing assignments, History a missing test, geometry like 7 missing items, and ELA and a response that needs “50 minutes” apparently and is only able to be done after school. I’m not sure what to do anymore, I was just hoping to seek some advice if theres a certain order of how I should do these assignments or things I should tell my teachers. Please help me, my brain is all over the place.

Question Is it bad to not partake in competitive activties?
Hi!! Freshman here. I don't really know what to title this post, but I'll just get into it. I'm not in band, choir, or in any sports. I've never done any of those types of activities. I have severe social anxiety, and I would hate to have to preform in front of people. But, I have been in book club, writers club, art club, and theater crewduring my elementary and middle school years. Currently I am only in the crew section of theater, which I do not enjoy. However, im starting to worry that not participating in these "competive/active" activities are going to stunt me later in life. Is this a realistic worry? To continue with this, im also not in a gym class currently. I'm trying to work out a plan that will allow me to skip this class entirely. That is basically all the input I have for this subject, any thoughts? Sorry for the rambling, this has been on my mind for many years, and I do not have many friends to discuss with.

General Advice Needed/Given someone help i’m genuinely addicted to skipping
Okay, so I moved not too long ago from New York to Washington, and obviously that means I have to start at a new school my junior year, but I've been like super depressed, like I've been depressed for like four years now, but it’s never been as bad. Like, I can't even get out of bed. I skip school and just lie in bed feeling sorry for myself, and then I cry and fall asleep for like the whole day. I've been doing this for two weeks now, and I'm completely behind on everything, which is really bad because I was already behind from the move; I fell so lost. Today I got myself up and went to school (writing from the bathroom while skipping), and I don't want to go to any classes because I'm scared of what the teachers will say and the questions they will ask, like, I'm not trying to tell a teacher I've seen you a total of five times that I'm depressed, sorry. And I have really bad social anxiety and avoidant tendencies, so I really, really don’t want to talk to them or see them because I feel so bad for skipping their classes for so long. I want to go to school and graduate, but at this point I might just drop out, or they’ll kick me out whichever comes first. made this post. If anyone has been through this, what should I do? I feel so hopeless because my parents think I've been going, but I'm not, and they’ll kill me if they find out, and I'm low-key running out on lies about why I'm being marked absent. Someone help. I don’t know if this made any sense. I'm sorry.

Rant Fuck my algebra teacher
This is an update about my algebra project I ranted about last week, I was not going to do this stupid ass algebra project. Yes, I am in Algebra 1 despite being a junior. I apparently failed 11th grade so badly that I’m only in classes meant for Sophomores. Not sure how that is possible but Whatever. It was supposed to be due this Tuesday but a majority of his class didn‘t even do it but instead of just moving on that BASTARD extended the due date by 2 days, so now it’s due tomorrow. I was planning to avoid this project and then lie to my algebra teacher on Friday by making up a sob story about how “poor” my parents are as if I don’t live in the suburbs but then Today, That motherfucker sent a several emails to my parents talking about this stupid project. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK! Now, I actually HAVE to do this project. I literally have no excuse this time. This man singlehandedly ruined my after school plans, all with a smile on his face. Fuck him! I wish I could strangle him but I can’t because that’s illegal.

Rant I will never have a future because i am a slow learner
My life revolves around scjool. It sucks. But what sucks even more is that no matter how hard i try i waste hours on one part of some type of problem (wheter its a math problem, a section of a lesson or a project) and it goes into a spiral of insanity where i tell myself "its okay" "i tried my best" i'll do better next time" "i wont let one grade relapse me" but then i end up crying for hours and rotting in bed while hiding my phone from myseld as punishment for being dumb. I feel like i will never be able to become a student that will be able to enter college because of my grades and my knowledge and how i overthink everything.
I have tried every method that you can think of to make me remember things but none of them.work. i am so stupid that i even have lack of knowledge outside of school (wich i wont talk about). I just wonder why cant i be a smart person. Why does my brain hurt and turn off when i have to study. I dont know what to say anymore.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
It’s not edited yet and I just started the project, but I wanted to share some starting animations and basic movements! The circle is Timmy. He’s the nucleus of a cell and he’s gonna teach everyone about cells and such. This is also due in 6 days and I don’t know how I’m gonna animate this fast, but if I lock in and stay up late a few days, it should work out :)

Rant The World Sucks
Today at school there was a blood drive going on. My sister chose to participate by donating blood and once she had it extracted she passed out and knocked her front 2 teeth out and was bleeding out. I feel so terrible because now she’s going to have 2 teeth missing for the rest of her life and it’s not even her fault. Make sure you eat well before donating blood. Also a school shooting happened in my city. Everything is just pissing me off right now.

Question What’s the most procrastinated assignment you’ve ever turned in on time (barely)?
We all have that one assignment we put off until the last possible minute and somehow still finished.
What was yours? And how close to the deadline did you actually submit it?
Bonus: what was your “it’s fine, I work better under pressure” moment that definitely was not fine?
