Olympia is probably one of my favorite new characters in Fortune's Weave so far. Her personality in Leda's route really shines. She has so many funny moments with the rest of the cast, her sapphic coded rivalry with Leda is entertaining, and when Leda's doing the most it's always Olympia who puts her in her place.
Not to mention she's a Nosferatu queen in battle.
I wish she had more supports because she steals every scene she's in.
Mother!

A lot of people have worried that with a full eight paths, even if the story and presentation are great, the game will simply be too bloated and tedious to play. But while tediously grinding my last unrecruited characters on Dietrich's path, the thought occurred to me: Almost all the things making the game tedious and less fun will be significantly mitigated by having a full path for each of the sublords.
Right now, the only way to have about half of the cast feature in the game at all is to relentlessly grind meals and gift-giving to get them up to the requirements for recruiting them. Not only that, but characters often have a high renown threshold as well for recruitment, which drives the player to complete lots of sidequest content they might otherwise consider skippable. The effort expended raising character relationships with the main lord, in turn, makes it harder to get the supports you might want to see between two secondary characters. And all of this is doubly unrewarding, because in Part 1 deployment slots are very low; on most missions you'll only have your core squad + mandatory recruit, and you'll never see more than 1-2 added on top of that before Part 2. So, completionists recruit a bunch of characters that end up just riding the bench.
But if every sub-lord has a full route, this is all greatly mitigated. Now, almost 100% of the cast will be part of a team automatically -- rather organically, every team will be just about complete with its core 4-5, 1 mandatory recruit, and 1 recruitable boss. Now, if you think Ursula or Sha Lan or Diego are cool, you'll get plenty of time to play them in a part 1, and they'll carry over into Parts 2 and 3 without needing to grind a zillion meals with them for the opportunity. That means less time doing busywork that most people seem to hate, and a lot more time doing fun battles while still getting to see the whole cast.
That said, I really hope Nintendo patches meals/gifts to be more powerful, because man seeing the great supports is still a chore.

What do you mean Aswan learned about Bertrand being alive because of Dante's play about him ? Holy butterfly effect, without it, she'd never brought the Blood Axe, so Bertrand either lose against Orchel or Dietrich, and we never get him as a Flame Lord since no Blaze Arts ?
What can't this messy redhead do

With the announcement of the dlc today we will know why Bertrand is red
Happy with the spread so far! Was originally aiming to fit this in 2 pages but it’s probably gonna have to be 4 in total
As always feel free to suggest characters for future days 🕺

Please tell me if I’m completely off - coming from a place of seeking clarification and not being negative or combatant towards the game! Im specifically interested what people have to say about my thoughts on the amount of recruits per team below.
This game feels incomplete. It feels messy, specifically. Not bad, just messy. One example (to keep it short) - recruiting. Amount of characters you can recruit. Little explanation or direction on who to spend time on and how much. How big of a team you should have. Focus on a core team of 6 or will you be okay experimenting and spreading usage and exp to 12?
\** It feels like there are gaps of explanation and guidance that would’ve been answered with the remaining 4 lords.* Heres what seems most interesting - If you divide the total recruitable players by 8 Lords instead of 4 Lords, that would equal out to about 8 players per team to recruit everyone in the game as opposed to about 13 or 14 with with only 4? That’s where team management gets messy. Characters get left behind. Seems like that was the original goal - each lord gets about 8 players to manage with clear guidelines of who to recruit but with the ability to go outside of that guideline if you really wanted to. ***
I’m not familiar with how Intelligent Systems games are in general and if others can tell that this was one was rushed but it feels like it to me.
It almost makes me want to drop the game and wait to see what their fix or answer is, if they do anything at all.
EDIT: For clarification, I’m not saying that I think that the game should let you recruit and use everyone. I actually think the opposite. Thank you for the input!

I’d hate for him to still not get any conversations with him considering both him & Talimum have major beef with each other.

Now to wait for the new dlc routes next year xD

The new weapons from the wave 1 DLC scale extremely well with upgrades. I am starting chapter 10 with Dietrich and just unlocked the level 2 refine, and at 18 MT it is hitting harder than an Iron Axe +2 but it has the hit and weight of an iron sword, while also having a 5 crit bonus.
All I had to do to get it was take a quest from the Bulletin Board and then go talk to a guy in the alley near the city streets. Worth buying the DLC just for this for if you are on the fence about the other waves still? Prob not. But if you are already planning on getting it the weapons are a nice little boost.

Obviously, disclaiming in the title since the language they’re describing the four campaigns with is similar to the four we have, but don’t want to assume anything.
In the case they’re full-length routes or comparable, what characters and builds are you excited to try out?
“Well I’m not excited since it’ll be like Cindere-“ not the question.
For me personally:
> The four sub-lords, since they have weirdly low non-weapon ranks for their Act 3 join times
> Their right hands, since they’re all so late to their own detriment. Sha Lan probably has it least bad, Gaitz is so close to decent but screwed over by exclusivity, Diego and Ursula are late ass early game archers…
> Fianna! Her niche is pretty much having the most magic in exchange for only having Regenera as a unique tool amongst default mages. Having more control over her growths and slapping Regenera on curse-spamming Talimun sounds like fun.
>Our Myrms (Ludia and Nezha) and Sky Myrm (Loretta) will love their pre-Brigand University prep.
>Peppe! He’s going to be early in Bertrand’s route. Right? Right guys!? Early, viable Peppe? G-guys?

There's some parallels between the two:
r/fireemblem • u/WinterWolf18 • 18h ago
* Mysterious person of unknown origin sometimes found in the woods.
* Sometimes has no memories
* Quickly grows attached to the main character (Talimun counts)
* It turns out that they have a connection to the main antagonist of their game
* Can occasionally bea dragon or half dragon
* Can be ostracized due to their identity
I wish this archetype had a name or was a thing because I really like these six and the trends they occasionally follow.
