Title. Just happened to me with Yuweyawata Field Station. Went to the final boss; everyone died at the boss with just over a third of its health left, so I just killed it. Rude? Not rude? Possible with other tank classes?

Edit: more context, healer clicked to revive and was outside the arena, only one dps was in and readable but I did not feel comfortable channeling a phoenix down.

I'm literally crying

I previously played this game on my computer but I was interested in playing on Switch 2 now that it's an option. However I'm having trouble understanding how that works... I can tell I need to buy a Switch 2 copy of the game, but do I also need to get the expansions (which I already have on PC) over again on Switch? What about game time? I currently have an active subscription to the game, so can I use that or is it completely separate?

Edit: thank you to those who clarified how the expansion and subscription work for me, I understand now that I'd have to repurchase the expansion and all that. Blegh.

So, my friends and I were talking, and we realized the WoL is, at best, a slightly sentient gun:
- ARR - We are a god-killing gun (lower case g because we killed a lot of eidolons).
- HW - We were a church-killing gun (because this is a JRPG and the church is always evil).
- SB - We were a gun to conquer two kingdoms (because I have the power of friendship and this gun WoL I found).
- ShB - We were a gun to fight an ancient god-like being (we learned it from you, dad).
- EW - We were a gun to fight entropy (or the heat death of the universe expedited by a sad bird or Twitter).
- DT - We are a gun that figured out we have a safety switch (which we quickly learned to turn off).

Have you ever played a game, not giving a second thought about something, or curious about a small detail, and then suddenly it clicks. I'm curious about those moments in FFXIV. What was something, that you overlooked, but then realized why it exists. What mild "mistake" did you realize wasn't actually a "plot hole" but actually lore accurate. Tell me your aha! moments.

The one for me, that made me wanna write this post, comes from the Occult Crescent. I was curious why Phantom Summoner didn't have an ice summon. Shiva was in FF5, so why wasn't she represented as a summon, in the Crescent. Then I remembered, within the context of FFXIV's lore, Shiva is a brand new summon, and didn't exist during the Fifth Astral Era. So it makes sense that she wouldn't be available.

He's seems hyperfixated on the WoL and seems to have trouble understanding the emotions of others.

I’m in the 3.x patches for Heavensward and realized I’ve never figured how to run when near an enemy I’m targeting lol. I always tap B to untarget them, run to my new spot, then retarget them.

Is there a better way to do this? I have like 90 hours in this game and am still learning controls lol.

I mean my character will do a slow strafe around an enemy instead of the usual run speed. I target the enemies by pressing A

So, when I booted the game up today my UI and character settings had all been wiped. Something similar happened to me before several years ago and I was looking into finding my local files to see if I could restore my settings... however I did hit the "restore" button on the FFXIV launcher as I was trying to navigate an online tutorial... This seems to have triggered the launcher into re downloading the entire game and all it's expansions even though they should all already be locally stored on my PC.

Is my night of gaming completely boned? Any way around this or do I just have to let this run it's 11 hour course?

I've decided to finally become an omni crafter, I've managed to put leatherworker, culinarian and now goldsmith, but I've noticed that i need to make some profits in order to fund my adventure, which other should i go now? Besides the ones I've leveled, which ones are the most "bang for your buck" ?
