[PvP Discussion] What is the simplest/most straightforward class for PvP
My main experience with PVP has been doing the daily frontline for XP but lately I’ve been interested in Crystalline conflict except… I suck at every class I’ve tried. I usually play ninja in Frontline so I can try and capitalize on the Limit break and chain some kills. But in CC I just die so fast to everything because I’m trying to juggle my various buttons. Hence my question;
what is the simplest (maybe not necessarily the “easiest”) job to play in PVP, specifically CC? I am just too stupid/incompetent to focus on juggling multiple abilities and focus on where everybody is and what I should be doing at the same time. I can’t dumb-down those other things so how can I dumb down my rotation and still be effective?
thank you for your consideration,
your local moron.

[Question] Healer - am I at fault?
Edit: Thank you all, lesson learned: I probably should not have said that it's "literally part of healers job" - maybe that is what triggered that specific DPS. Should have prhased my sentence differently.
-Also What I did not add is that after about 2 waves I helped pull into a tank he started taking more waves himself and he never said anything, overall did very well I'd say.
I'm sprout playing on controller and healer, never used controller in my life but been playing for about a month as Sage main and is going quite well.
Today got pulled into 'Schloss Kugane' (not sure Eng version name), it's lvl 70 dungeon.
Normal start, we doing very well but noticed tank going very slowly (1 pack at the time) (tank was not a sprout). I assumed he was going slowly for me but as I run this dungeon so many times I decided helping out and pulling next wave into a tank. All flawless, tank undersood, AoE'd and never said a word. At which point one DPS said
"Let the tank attract the creatures, that's not your job."
I was really confused as everything was going really well, standard no issue pulls and dungeon. When I replied that it's literally one of the healers job (pulling) he said "NO!".
I told him we doing so well, asked, what is the problem and that he is looking for issues when there's none.
Then he continued "taunting" with emotes throughout the dungeon without further exchange.
What is the consesus here? Am I in the wrong or is this DPS out or his mind? Thanks for claryfing this for me in advance!
[Question] While doing MSQ do you have glasses/spectaculars or none?
I wear white glasses for my main character, what do you wear?

[In-game screenshot] This is my ninth alt through MSQ, but each time I reach this point it makes me pause to appreciate it. (Spoilers - Shadowbringers) Spoiler
Even when speed running MSQ on alts and skipping cutscenes, I can't help but take a moment to appreciate this view following the cutscene.

[Question] Sprout in need 🌱
Hi everyone! So, FFXIV is my first ever MMORPG. I decided to start ‘cuz I’ve always like the genre but always been afraid to approach it. Always heard good things about about the game, story and the community. I decided to start as a marauder, liked the WRR gameplay, glamour etc. also it seemed like a pretty safe class to start because I always preferred the mage/dps kind of classes in other rpg’s and wanted to try something new.
I though feel pretty overwhelmed, the MSQ, so many stuff to do etc. so I have so questions, or better, i want to hear from you all what you wished you did different or knew when you started the game. From the more simple things like: I wished I picked up this item from this one specific MSQ, or I wish I picked this GC or I whish I did this or that, or whatever all the way to more “technical” stuff or endgame. Literally everything you wish to share with a sprout.
Also I want to know what the best plan you think is to follow here, like: do the MSW until reaching this MSQ level then do this, or whatever.
SOME NOTES: these are only some examples of course. Also, I’m on the free trial for now and I plan to stay like that for a while until I start getting more into the game and decide to commit fully to it.
I’m a lvl 26 marauder and my MSQ lvl is 16 or so I think. I just finished the dungeon in Gridania.
Thank you all in advance 🌱
[Discussion] Having more events that target older content.
Would you like or dislike having events that are targeted to bring players back or towards (new players) older content for both the leveling new players as well as rewarding the veterans with new or hard to get perks (mounts, minions, cards, glamour, etc)

[Lore Discussion] Multiple Hrothgar Queens?
I'm a bit confused. The lore seems to imply there were multiple Hrothgar queens existing at the same time.
Is it more that 'Queen' was just a title for tribe leaders? Because lost names are supposed to be the name of your former queen and then 'sch' at the end. It also references many queens who abdicated, or refused the title. So what is the deal with that? How many Queens did the Hrothgar have at the same time?

[Tech Support] Can't connect to any NA DC?
PC, full subscription - home server Crystal Brynhildr
I was doing a GATE in gold saucer when I got disconnected from the server. Every time I relaunch the game and try to connect to a datacenter in NA (my home is Crystal but I've tried all 4) through either the Start or Data Center menu option it loads for a long time then says "Error connecting to lobby 2002" or something to that effect then crashes to desktop
I can connect to any other region no issue, this is only the four NA DCs. Been unable to connect for about half an hour now and I'm not seeing any status reports to suggest this is more widespread than just me so I'm not even sure where to begin here
Edit - up to approx 1 hour that I can't connect, and I was able to confirm on my laptop that this issue persists across devices. Going to file a report with square enix help - can anyone on NA servers confirm if they are able to log in at the moment? I saw one person say its down, but otherwise I see no indication of whether this is a widespread outage or localized
Edit 2 - thanks to a suggestion in the comments, I tried logging in while connected to a VPN and it works! The vpn server is still in US so I'm not sure what the issue is, but it's resolved!
[Question] Which cross over would you like to have from FF1 to FF16 in FF14?
Given all the FF cross overs so far what would be your most rated FF cross over for the next event? Mine would be FF9
[PvP Discussion] What is your main MSQ role (Tank, Healer, DPS)
Mine has definitely been the tank (paladin) what do you default to for completing MSQ quests?

[Question] How much healing is too much healing?
Hello, I am a fairly new player looking for clarification. I started as a summoner because I didn't think I wanted the stress of healing, and have several dps classes unlocked as well as warrior (to a point, I'm early in the game). When Scholar became available to me I tried it out and learned that I stinking love healing. It has made dungeons a ton more interesting to me. I've unlocked all of the healers now and they are all my favorite jobs. That said, I think i could be accused of "healbotting" but I'm not honestly sure. I tend to keep the party on the side of comfortable, and I've only learned recently that I could be blocking my tanks from using some skills by doing that. I still attack a ton, but there are plenty of skills on the scholar & sage that are quick heals/shields that it never made sense to me to hold that back.
So the question - what is the point in HP that is reasonable to heal a tank? I'm afraid of letting them die too much or being accused of not healing, but I also don't want to block any important mits or skills from the tank. I also know there is a particular skill that drk gets that requires I don't heal them until a certain time, but I haven't encountered it yet in a dungeon.
I usually start the dungeon with the standard shields if sage/astro/scholar or regen if white mage, and then continue to keep up with regens throughout. I usually use a strict heal at about the 50% point of HP. If it makes a difference I only have access to lvl 60 or lower dungeons right now (we are in HW and taking our time also unlocking blue quests as we go, so we spend a lot of time in our dungeons along the way).
Any help is appreciated - I know it's a balancing act but I'm struggling with the point that i need to start more active healing.
Edit: I just want to thank you, you all have given me a ton of great advice and I appreciate it.
[Question] Moohle Treasure Trove
The Moogle Treasure Trove event ends next week. I've missed a couple weeks tho so I'll just have 9 tokens instead of 10 and I won't be able to get the mount. My question is will the mount still be available next Treasure Trove or should I just use all my tokens now?

[PvP Discussion] Pvp Frontline time window?
Hello, I'm on Elemental (tonberry) and materia (Sophia) servers. Is there a sort of generally agreed time window when people are queueing front lines right now? It used to be like 3pm JST or something but.. It seems so dead. Or am I just kind of out of luck for now 😅 thanks.

[News] Legacy players on S2 get extra discount
Not sure if it’s been posted and I’ve been waiting to have absolutely no ongoing sub either on pc or s2 to confirm, but legacy players must pay 1000 coins instead of 1500, which is 8€60 instead of the usual 10€.
Use win for me as I usually play on deck. Game runs at 30 instead of 45/60 on portable, no useful triggers, but the cheaper price + the clearer image + the docked version makes it all ok imo

[Discussion] Something to add to the Halloween event
With the Halloween event giving access to places like the Haunted Mansion and now Direcroft
and the NPCs able to change our model wouldnt it be neat to have them be able to change us to things like gourds or other prop items >> boom spooky prop hunt
of course they'd have to take things into account like nameplates or simply just have to rely on players to turn those off themselves in self-organized little prop hunt games

Cross data center party finder has arrived and the JP has once again done the same thing that it did back in Final fantasy 11. Instead of feeding fuel to the fire, I typed my own thoughts explaining the history of the Japanese and Americans back in the early 2000s and I offered my suggestions on how we can prevent PF messages like "JP players only". Your criticisms and suggestions are appreciated. If you like this hopefully we can spread the word so that we can end this Segregation between Japanese and American players. This is lengthy but it's about time a google doc isn't solely focus on just drama but rather how we can fix an issue in the JP/English communities

[Discussion] Provoke is currently broken on hunt marks
For the time being if you are pulling up to a hunt mark please do not use provoke for shits and gigs like ppl like to do. Usually its harmless fun but its bugged right now. Something about fixing Beastmaster made it so that provoke on any tank will actually pull the mark now as it will make you gain a single tick of enmity from out of combat. This sadly will probably not be a big enough thing for them to emergency maintenance/hotfix so please just be mindful until next patch.
Thank you,
All of your local S rank spawners

[Discussion] Suggestion: let us pick how long a retainer venture lasts
Right now retainer ventures come in two lengths. Targeted and quick ventures take about an hour, and exploration ventures take 18 hours. Nothing in between fits a normal day.
The 1-hour ventures only work if you’re sitting at your PC and can keep sending retainers out. The 18-hour ones are great overnight but awkward otherwise, because if I send them before work they’re still out when I get home.
What I’d love is a variable-length venture. A 6–8 hour option would be perfect for me: I send everyone out before work and collect when I get back. Cost could scale with time, something like 1 venture per hour or 1 per 2 hours, so it stays fair compared to running hourly ventures.
I sent this through the in-game suggestion form (screenshot attached). Would anyone else use this? What length would fit your schedule?
