How screwed is your fantasy team? A breakdown of how week 6 results impact playoff chances. It's time for 2-3 teams to lock in.

Thumbnail fantasygenius.io
• Upvotes

Hey y'all!

Mike from Fantasy Genius back here with some playoff statistics.

We'll keep this one short and sweet, as I have to mentally prepare myself to relive the horror of the Broncos losing Super Bowl XLVIII to the Seahawks in embarrassing fashion.

I'm going to make a bold claim here: winning your fantasy matchups will help your chances of making the playoffs. That said, not all wins are created equal. If you're sitting at 5-0 (well, chances are you're not reading an article about playoff chances...) the difference between a win and loss this week is negligible. Give your guys the week off, they earned it.

[cool visual in the article that shows this, can't post an image here]

Record With Loss With Win Diff
0-5 2.89% 12.23% 9.34%
1-4 10.17% 30.16% 19.99%
2-3 27.62% 56.86% 29.24%
3-2 52.06% 79.14% 27.08%
4-1 76.67% 92.87% 16.20%
5-0 92.47% 97.62% 5.15%

If your team is 2-3, you have to lock in right now. There are 29 percentage points at stake for your playoff odds this week.

If you're 0-5, uhh...12% is still technically in it! Sorry, that's the most I could muster for you.

That's all for today. Go Donkeys.

-Mike

Tools & Resources Week 6 TPR Featured MatchUps & Fantasy Implications for All Games.

This also includes OL & DL 1-32 Rankings based on TPR for Weeks 1-5.

There are just 4 Metal on Metal games this week, feels a lot more wide open than previous weeks.

Key Trench Matchups:
SEA D-Line vs DEN O-Line, especially after Hawks got an L last week.

GB D-Line vs DAL O-Line, can they do what they did vs CHI last week?

NYJ D-Line vs NE O-Line, feels like either a low scoring brawl or a blowout.

Several D/ST Matchups to consider for Fantasy Rosters too (RB2 points for sure).

Player Discussion IDPendent Matchups: Week 6

The show goes on. This is 2026 IDP Football Start-Sit Week 6: IDPendent Matchups.

It doesn't wait for us to have the perfect lineup, for our players to be in the right position, or for injured stars to get healthy enough to return to the field. Matchups are brewing, the playoff race is officially starting to take shape, and in my opinion, this is the week where things get real.

I am not aiming to get every last call right. My goal is to arm you with information that might otherwise go overlooked. I have heard it all. “Why are you saying to bench top players? I am going to start him anyway.”

Good. Make the call. Just don't do it blindly.

Do you care what the matchup looks like? Is your linebacker facing a team that gives up a ton of tackles to opposing linebackers? Do you know? Because you should.Right now, depth matters. Your bench matters. Knowing who is helping your lineup and who is hurting it matters more than ever. Setting my lineup after waivers had cleared was UGLY. I don't know about you, but I was digging deep.

That is where doing your homework pays off. Taking notes, peeling back the layers, and looking past the name on the jersey is what we need to do now.

Shout out to Jake Hansen, who had my leaguemates asking, “Who the F is that guy?” He then followed it up with back-to-back double-digit games, complete with the snap share to support the production. That is exactly the kind of player who can make a difference when you know where to look.

Each week, I take the Top 12 players at each position and identify one to sit based on the matchup. I do the same thing with players outside the Top 12 at defensive line, linebacker, and defensive back, looking for guys who could be ready to break into that group.

I look at rankings, snap percentages, and tackles allowed data for each team. I also discuss dynasty values within weekly matchups, because what a player is worth for the rest of the season and what he is worth this week are not always the same thing.

We are looking for high floors through tackle production while trying to avoid relying too heavily on more volatile stats.

The goal isn't to tell you who to start without giving you a reason. It's to help you understand the matchup, weigh the risks, and make the best decision for your roster.

I am Michael Pelton (@IDPelton), and this is 2026 IDP Football Start Sit Week 6: IDPendent

Matchups.

2026 IDP Football Start-Sit Week 6

DL Start: Austin Booker vs. Falcons

Current Rank: DL14

Austin Booker was one of the players I had my eye on when the season kicked off. I thought he could build on his rookie campaign, and so far, he has done just that. The Bears have been searching for someone to complement Montez Sweat, and I believe they may have found an edge defender who can hold down that spot for years to come.

Booker is seeing enough of the field to warrant a weekly fantasy start, and his production is backing it up. Through five games, he has recorded 14 tackles and four sacks. Not too shabby for a guy sitting just outside the Top 12.

But what really has me excited this week is the matchup.

The Falcons are allowing the most tackles in the league to opposing edge defenders. When you combine that kind of opportunity with Booker's recent increase in snap share and his ability to get after the quarterback, you have the ingredients for a potential breakout performance.

His snap percentage has climbed in each of the last three weeks, going from 60% to 63% to 72%. That upward trend is exactly what we want to see as his role continues to grow.

I think Booker cracks the Top 10 this week. If you have been waiting for the right time to put him in your lineup, this could be it.

Last 3 Weeks' Snap Percentage: 60% | 63% | 72%

DL Sit: Tuli Tuipulotu vs. Chiefs

Current Rank: DL5

It seems like Tuli Tuipulotu makes my list more than just about anyone. I think that's because he can be so up and down in the fantasy world. I am not saying he isn't a phenomenal football player. He absolutely is. But when it comes to fantasy production, the highs are high and the lows are low.

Just look at his results this season. He's had a game with six tackles, half a sack, a forced fumble, and an interception. That's a fantastic fantasy outing. Then you have games where he finishes with just one total tackle. I don't know about you, but that kind of inconsistency makes him a tough player to trust when there are other options available.

This week, I think it's a good time to hop off and, uh, let someone else take him for a spin.

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs present a difficult matchup for opposing Edge defenders, ranking in the bottom third of the league in tackles allowed at the position. That is not exactly the kind of matchup I'm looking to attack when considering a player ranked DL5.

I'm also not eager to bet against Mahomes and the Chiefs coming off their bye week. With a rested offense, I'm not counting on the kind of mistakes that could create extra opportunities for Tuli to produce those game-changing fantasy plays.

Tuipulotu is an excellent player, but this is about the matchup, the volatility, and the alternatives on your roster. If you have another Edge defender with a more reliable tackle floor and a better matchup, I would seriously consider making the switch.

Last 3 Weeks' Snap Percentage: 82% | 85% | 95%

-Summary-

Week 6 is about figuring it out. We've seen the patterns start to develop, and the league standings are taking shape. We can't sit back and hope things work themselves out or that someone else has it worse than we do.

It's time to attack. Use the tools we have at our disposal, dig into the matchups, and make sense of what we're seeing. The answers won't always be obvious, but the work we put in now can make all the difference down the stretch. Don't wait for things to happen. Go make them happen.
