I had my rhinoplasty on 14 October 2025 at RG Aesthetics Clinic in Delhi with Dr. Rajat Gupta. I chose the clinic trusting his experience, hoping it would improve both the appearance and function of my nose. My experience has been the opposite, and I'm honestly struggling and looking for advice from people in Delhi who may have been through something similar.
Since the surgery, I have had breathing problems I did not have before:
- My left side feels blocked most of the time
- Breathing during exercise has become difficult
- I often struggle to breathe comfortably while sleeping
As the swelling reduced, I also noticed my nose was healing crooked and leaning towards the left.
I raised these concerns with the clinic many times over WhatsApp messages, video calls, phone calls, and follow-up appointments. Every time I was told to just wait because healing can continue for a year or longer. I respected that advice, remained patient, and gave it the full time.
Even after waiting, things have not improved. Because of that, I got an independent assessment from an ENT specialist in Canada (where I live). He found an anterior left septal cartilage deviation and a posterior vomer spur towards the left middle meatus, which helps explain the breathing difficulties I'm still having. I’m also developing lateral nasal valve collapse on one side due to him shaving the bone on one side.
What hurts the most is that no one from the clinic has given me a logical explanation of what happened, why my septum is still deviated in this way, or what the plan is to fix it. I have formally written to the clinic asking for a refund of the surgical fees and asked for a written response within 14 days.
Now recently, I also can't open Dr. Gupta's Instagram (@rajatguptadr) from my account, while other people can still see it. It looks like I have been blocked, right when I have been asking for answers.
This surgery has had a big impact on my quality of life and confidence. Exercise was a normal part of my routine and is now difficult, my sleep is affected, and I am now facing the possibility of needing revision surgery somewhere else — which is expensive, risky, and mentally exhausting.
- Has anyone else had a similar experience with this clinic/doctor?
- Living outside India, what are my realistic options — consumer forum, Delhi Medical Council complaint, legal notice?
- Is a refund realistic in cases like this, or do clinics usually just offer a free revision? I don't feel confident going back to the same surgeon.
- Has anyone here successfully resolved a medical dispute like this from abroad?
Any genuine advice would really help. Thank you for reading.
