I’ve tried running every imaginable troubleshooting known to man for the last four hours. This is incredibly frustrating.

I’ve tried to change the .ini files. To add in the these two things into the game. I’ve tried to skip the temple trial and give me the village start. I made sure my launch options are working correctly and that all my .ini files between tweaks, sfall are exact and in the right folders. My launch options on my steam deck has the right command. And the version sfall is showing.

The mods are working fine together. It’s just that the game will not give me the vault suit and the PIP boy with these installed. I’m at my wits end.

So, recently I came up with this idea of a morally-good playthrough. Since I've managed to do that on Fallout 1, can I do the same again? The thing is, lockpicking is really a thing in this game and I wonder if I will miss something out if don't tag it.

On my most recently fallout 2 playthrough, I've ended up as a Made Man of the Bishop family so when it comes to morals, mine just went to hell.

My plan is to tag small guns (or unarmed)/science and speech. And Big Guns on the late-endgame. What do you guys think?

Hello fellow wastelanders.
I have played fallout new vegas not so long ago and absolutely adored it. I wanted more but unfortunately fallout 4 falls under the AAA category of games for me and since I dislike triple A games because theyre boring and are just glorified movies (in my oppinion) I didnt play it. I moved to the youtube side of fallout and the content there is very good. Many fallout content creators praise fallout 1 and 2 as being what the fallout franchise is all about. This prompted me to try out the first game and.....

I'm really sorry but I hate it.
Im gonna make a list of things I like and dislike that I have discovered:

1. I hate the movement. Both actions and movement are tied to the mouse which is weird for me and feels really clunky and slow.

2. Combat is slow, methodical and I quite like it. It is a bit rng based which is like... ehh... dropping my pistol because of a critical failure and not realising I dropped and where I dropped was a nice experience seeing as it was my first encounter outside the vault cave.

3. The "Tell me about" option is really cool and I love it, however me being illiterate its difficult to know what to ask NPCs as most things I ask yield no response. I did figure out some things, but I assume later on I will figure out what to ask of NPCs.

4. Barter is pretty neat. I did sort of trade all my radscorpion tails for nothing because I thought NPCs just gave you money for things you give them (Like NV).

Essentially, the game is very outdated for my tastes which is understandable because the game is old BUT I feel inclined to play more because of the mystery and gloomy atmosphere. Also many things confuse me. An NPC asked me to rid shady sands of scorpions which I somehow managed to do and now I have no clue how to collect my reward if there is any. Aradesh treats as if I have not done anything yet.

If you could offer any tips for a new player like me, please let me know because so far many things left me confused because of how used I was to how things worked in other games.

After getting the GECK and trying (and failing) to return it to my village, I immediately went to Navarro as suggested, and met the gas station attendant who directed me south. Clearly he was lying but I figured the base was too tough for a frontal assault, so buggered off to San Francisco to level up and get some better gear. I'm then directed by the BoS to go back to Navarro to infilitrate the base, which seems much more sensible than a frontal assault.

However, as soon as I get there, the attendant engages me in dialogue. All options result in him immediately alerting the base before I can react, making infiltration impossible. Are there any ways around this?

Even when my inventory is completly empty, i can't pickup anything. It says that im am my max carry weight. (Btw, i have strengh at 10)

I need to change the resolution settings but I’ve managed to get it working on my phone so I can play it on my transit to work
one issue I’m having though is none of the cutscenes or talking heads seem to be loading
how much will I miss out without having those? I know the story at this point so it’s not the end of the world but it is mildly annoying

What is the deal with this guy??? I just saved their town from rad scorpions, got no reward, thanks I guess, and now he wants me to save his daughter? "Yeah I'll reward you whatever" No sir I must insist, what is the agreed upon reward? "You heartless bastard!" And he starts shooting.

I have been messing around with the BIS Mapper for a mod project ive been working on. Been good fun but my god the software is cumbersome.

Basicly i read alot of modding Fallout 2 and its sounds like fun - Fallout 1 + 2 were my childhood games.

My idea would be, to add kinda like an ai (hard used word this days, but yes a simple local running version) which tracks the player behavior.

Examples:

- Player is stealing often:

First there starts rumors from random city npc's which are talking about a thief. Then the market price's going up. Etc. Like a player bounty.

- Player is playing with a high karma: Some people are softer to him like in vault city, but raiders or slave traders see the player as weak. High karma would be the opposite.

-Save Scumming: I think this one is really hard to code sadly, but it would be funny if enemys would taunt the player like "oh ? Are you scared and gonna reload"?

But my problem is , even that is technical tons of work, i find my idea so far kinda boring and to less .

What do you think of this idea in general?

Any help is welcome to improve this idea. Also open to total new ideas 🙈

Nexis did a picture of my Courier character a few years ago (the second pic), and now we decided to make a combined Fallout 1/2 one given than player sprites are identical there. The Vault Dweller is canon Natalia Dubrovhsky, while the Chosen One is a custom char (not Chitsa), resembling her grandma more. Unlike the Courier who's wearing all the nice ingame stuff (yes, those glasses were worth a gambit of gaining rep with the Legion before pasting a Denarii shot in Caesar's face, and finishing the game as House/NCR alliance supporter), I decided not to go with what both ladies actually wore in endgame - else it would have been simply T-51b and X-01 armor suits ^^ Instead, we went with the classic Vault Dweller wear as seen in the finale, and as for the Chosen One, a post apoc tribal, but without looking stereotypical. So no piercings or feathers, instead, she likes wearing trophies taken from the most dangerous prey - thus a Deathclaw's claw and lots of Enclave patrolmen dog tags... And yes, that tuxedo is (was) President Richardson's. No need to scalp the big bad when you can take a nice keepsake. Wish that was possible in the game. Anyway, hope you like!

Hi all! I wanted to replay Fallout 2 with RPU on my phone, so I redesigned the game's interface for touch. The video shows a new game up to getting the Pip-Boy.

What it is

• A fork of Fallout 2: Community Engine for Android. It's based on Fallout 2 CE, so it uses the same engine, fixes, and sfall support.
• Every screen redesigned for touch: dialogue, barter, inventory, loot, character and level-up, Pip-Boy, maps, saves, settings.
• No cursor: tap to act, long press for the action menu, drag items, pinch to zoom.
• Tactical view in combat: reachable hexes and every critter's hex, so you can pick a target standing behind others.
• Built-in Inventory Filter support for inventory, loot, and barter.

How to install

1. Get the APK from Releases.
2. Copy your Fallout 2 folder (or an archive of it) from a PC to the phone. Mods like RPU and your saves come along.
3. Open the app and pick that folder or archive.

You need your own copy of the game (GOG / Steam / Epic); the app contains no game files. Android 7.0+, arm64, landscape for now.

It's an early beta, tested mostly with RPU 2.4.34, so I'd love to hear how it runs on your phone. Bugs and ideas: GitHub Issues or right here. The port's own buttons are in English and Russian so far. If you'd like it in your language, it's one text file to translate.

Hey everyone! Over the past few weeks, I’ve been playing through Fallout 2 with the Restoration Project mod, and it’s been an absolute blast.

However, I think I may have softlocked my playthrough after completing a few quests in San Francisco. In my attempt to complete as many quests as possible, I joined the Hubologists and transferred the Shi fuel to the rocket. After completing a few more quests, I eventually wiped out the Hubologists before asking them to send the fuel to the tanker.

Now I can’t seem to find any way to get that last part done, and I don’t have any earlier saves to fall back on.

Is there any way I can still make it to the oil rig, or have I just ruined my 50-hour playthrough?

Hy can one of you explain to me how to get the "highlighting" option in Fallout Nevada (browser) to work? I have turned on the option, but Shift doesn't work.

Fork of Fallout Community Edition where I swapped turn-based combat for realtime, played on the Steam Deck with a controller. Everything else is as close to vanilla as I could keep it, only the turns are gone.

- AP still matters, it regenerates over time. Run out and you stop

- fully playable on a controller: lock-on, radial wheels for weapons, ammo, items and skills

- free movement with the stick instead of hopping hex to hex

The mutants standing around the Master aren't broken AI. Two of them are Morpheus's escort and the vault mutants aren't on the Master's side, so they sit out his fight in vanilla too.

Still alpha, but playable from start to finish. Now just polishing rough edges like aiming through walls.
