WEST DIVISION | DIVISION OUEST Western Final Week Possible Scenarios Based on this week's results
Here are the scenarios for what the final week could look like rooting wise for my fellow Calgary fans (also known as why it's going to be hard for us to make the playoffs) and of course lovable neutrals:
WORST: Calgary loses, Saskatchewan wins (doesn't matter what Winnipeg does)
IMPLICATION: Calgary is eliminated no matter what happens in the final week, both Winnipeg and Saskatchewan have clinched
6th: Calgary wins, Winnipeg wins, Saskatchewan wins
IMPLICATION: Winnipeg will clinch a playoff spot. Calgary would need two results to go their way to not be eliminated. Winnipeg would have to WIN against a BC team trying to clinch 2nd (Bombers could finish second winning by 17 or more) AND Saskatchewan would need to lose to Edmonton's (possibly) backups
5th: Calgary loses, Winnipeg loses, Saskatchewan loses
IMPLICATION: The same two results would need to happen as above, but at least for Calgary in this scenario BC will have clinched and won't need to beat Winnipeg to get 2nd. Winnipeg will have clinched though. Would Winnipeg care enough about 3rd or 4th to not rest guys themselves?
4th: Calgary wins, Winnipeg loses, Saskatchewan wins
IMPLICATION: The Riders will have clinched a spot. Calgary would need Winnipeg to lose to a BC team that won't care
3rd: Calgary loses, Winnipeg wins, Saskatchewan loses
IMPLICATION: Winnipeg will have clinched a playoff spot. Calgary's playoff hopes would come down to Edmonton trying to win in Regina. The one thing that makes this interesting is if BC wins against Winnipeg, Edmonton would actually need to win this one
2nd: Calgary wins, Winnipeg wins, Saskatchewan loses
IMPLICATION: Calgary can make the playoffs if either Winnipeg wins OR Saskatchewan loses. Winnipeg will have clinched a playoff spot. The Riders may be playing the Elks backups, and the problem is in this scenario BC now has motivation to win over the Bombers to clinch 2nd (or just not lose by 17).
BEST?: Calgary wins, Winnipeg loses, Saskatchewan loses
IMPLICATION: In this scenario, Calgary would just need either the Bombers OR Riders to lose to get into the playoffs. The problem is BOTH teams may be playing backups as BC and Edmonton will have locked 1st and 2nd in this scenario. It's still not great for the Stamps, but the best Calgary may have
Calgary's best chance is if one or both of Edmonton/BC play starters for all/most of their final game. Calgary would also be helped if Edmonton beats Winnipeg Friday, would would lock them in 1st and BC in 2nd, that BC could choose to rest starters against us this Saturday. However, the way the schedule worked out appears to be giving both the Bombers and Riders a significant advantage in terms of competition level.

BLUE BOMBERS Zach
Anyone else notice that he appeared to be carrying around a game ball at the end of the last game? Add that to the very heartfelt thank you to the fans while being interviewed by Bain (and his choice of words), and you get the feeling that he’s retiring at the end of this season.
Or am I the only one seeing things this way?

ALOUETTES Montreal’s House of Dominance: Als Go 9-0 at Home with 44-24 Win.
The Montreal Alouettes welcomed the visiting Saskatchewan Roughriders, the defending Grey Cup champions, in front of a sellout crowd of 23,035 at Molson Stadium. The fans were electric and played a major role in supporting their team, truly becoming the 13th man on the field. This was Montreal's last home game and it was on Thanksgiving Monday.
The game was filled with historic moments and significant implications for both teams. Saskatchewan entered the match up fighting to secure a playoff spot, making every game critical to its postseason hopes. Montreal, meanwhile, had already secured its place in the playoffs and had November 7 circled on its calendar for the East Final. The Alouettes still had to wait to find out which opponent they would face.
Montreal's opening drive showed promise as quarterback Davis Alexander spotted an opening in the middle of the field and scrambled to midfield. However, on the next play, Alexander took a deep shot to wide receiver Tyler Snead, only to have the pass intercepted by Marcus Sales. It was just Alexander's fourth interception of the season.
Despite the turnover, Saskatchewan failed to capitalize on the opportunity, managing only a field goal. Montreal's defence limited the damage and kept the game within reach.
Much of the pregame attention focused on wide receiver Tyson Philpot, who entered the contest just 179 yards away from breaking the Alouettes' franchise record for receiving yards, held by Hall of Famer Hal Patterson at 1,914 yards. The Roughriders understood the threat Philpot posed and frequently assigned double coverage to limit his impact.
However, concentrating so much attention on Philpot meant Saskatchewan had to account for Montreal's other offensive weapons.
Tyler Snead, who had also surpassed 1,400 receiving yards on the season, remained a significant deep threat. The Roughriders could not afford to focus exclusively on Philpot, and Montreal took advantage of the defensive attention.
On the Alouettes' second possession, Jerreth Sterns stepped up with several important catches, moving the ball effectively downfield. Montreal finished the drive with a clever play that featured a fake handoff to running back Stevie Scott III before Alexander delivered a quick touchdown pass to Snead in the end zone.
The Alouettes had demonstrated that even when one of their biggest offensive threats was being closely watched, they had plenty of other playmakers capable of making Saskatchewan pay.
Montreal's offence was beginning to click, and the Roughriders were struggling to find answers.
In the second quarter, Alexander delivered one of the game's most entertaining plays. Appearing to be on the verge of being sacked, he somehow managed to get the ball away with a spectacular, highlight-reel falling pass to Scott III.
On the very next play, Alexander found an open Charleston Rambo for a 45-yard touchdown. It was another example of Montreal's ability to turn a difficult situation into a big play.
For Saskatchewan's defenders, getting to Alexander was becoming increasingly frustrating. Even when the pressure appeared to be closing in, the Montreal quarterback continued to find ways to extend plays and move the offence downfield.
Later in the quarter, Alexander spotted Philpot open downfield and delivered a difficult pass, but the receiver was unable to make the catch. Despite that missed opportunity, Montreal continued to find success through its balanced passing attack.
The Alouettes' defence also did its part, helping keep Saskatchewan from pulling away while giving the offence opportunities to build its lead. Alexander spread the ball around effectively, connecting with seven different receivers throughout the game.
At halftime, Montreal held a 17-13 lead. Saskatchewan had done a respectable job limiting Philpot's production, holding him to just 13 receiving yards through the first half. However, the Roughriders were still trailing, and Montreal had plenty of offensive momentum heading into the break.
Montreal came out of halftime looking to maintain its momentum, and it did not take long for Alexander to find Philpot.
The two connected on a 46-yard touchdown pass that sent the sellout crowd into a frenzy and extended Montreal's lead to 24-16. After keeping Philpot relatively quiet in the first half, Saskatchewan was reminded just how dangerous he could be when given an opportunity.
The touchdown appeared to swing the momentum firmly in Montreal's favour. From that point forward, the Alouettes took control of the game, with Alexander throwing three touchdown passes in the second half alone.
Alexander finished the afternoon completing 26 of 43 passes for 403 yards. His performance could have been even bigger, but he was replaced by backup quarterback Dustin Crum late in the game as Montreal's lead grew comfortable.
The afternoon was also significant for Alexander personally, as he reached the 5,000-yard passing mark for the season. It was a major milestone, putting him in the company of Montreal quarterback legend Anthony Calvillo, who last reached that mark for the Alouettes.
Another impressive piece of history came with Alexander's five-touchdown performance. The last time an Alouettes quarterback threw five touchdown passes in a game was Kevin Glenn. For Montreal fans, it was another reason to appreciate just how productive the offence has become.
While Alexander and the offence received plenty of attention, Montreal's defence was equally determined to make an impact.
Newcomer Julian Howsare made his Alouettes debut after previously playing for Hamilton. Geoffrey Cantin-Arku recorded Montreal's lone interception, while Don Callis forced a Saskatchewan fumble, giving the defence important contributions at key moments.
Cornerback Lorenzo Burns also deserves recognition. Although he does not always receive the credit he deserves around the league, Burns has proven to be one of Montreal's toughest defensive backs to beat. Saskatchewan tested him throughout the game, but Burns held his ground and nearly came away with an interception of his own.
Linebacker Tyrice Beverette once again delivered a strong performance. He gave Alouettes fans a scare in the second quarter when he went down with a knee injury. Fortunately, Beverette was able to return to the game, providing a welcome boost to Montreal's defence.
Saskatchewan also entered the matchup dealing with injuries of its own, including wide receivers KeeSean Johnson and Sam Emilus, as well as left tackle Payton Collins. Those absences presented additional challenges for the defending Grey Cup champions against a Montreal team playing with confidence on both sides of the ball.
Once again, Montreal demonstrated the importance of performing across all three phases of the game: offence, defence and special teams.
The offence produced points and explosive plays, the defence created turnovers and limited Saskatchewan's opportunities, and the special teams helped Montreal maintain control. When a team can consistently deliver in all three phases, it gives itself an excellent chance of winning football games.
Montreal has dealt with significant injuries of its own throughout the season, but other players have continued to step up when called upon. The Alouettes remain without wide receiver Cole Spieker, running back Travis Theis, All-Star defensive back Kabion Ento, long snapper Louis-Philippe Bourassa and kick returner Dvonte Dedmon, who may be out for the remainder of the season.
Despite those absences, Montreal continues to find ways to win. That depth could prove especially important as the playoffs approach and the competition becomes even tougher.
If the Alouettes continue playing at this level through the remainder of the season, Montreal fans may well find themselves celebrating another Grey Cup parade. Of course, the familiar saying still applies: one game at a time.
Montreal will now prepare for its third back-to-back meeting with the same opponent this season as the Alouettes travel to Saskatchewan for a rematch this Saturday at 3 p.m.
The stakes will be considerably higher for the Roughriders, who need a victory to keep their playoff hopes alive. After losing 44-22 in Montreal, Saskatchewan will be looking for a response on home turf.
For the Alouettes, the priorities are straightforward: stay healthy, maintain their momentum and continue building toward the postseason.
With a perfect 9-0 record at home and an offence capable of putting up points against a quality opponent, Montreal is giving its fans plenty of reasons to be optimistic.
The Alouettes have made their home field a fortress. Now, they will look to carry that confidence into Saskatchewan thsi coming Saturday at 3 P.M and take another step toward their ultimate goal; The Grey Cup!
Hope you enjoyed the read. Would your like your comments also on the game.

Scorigami Week 19
Week 19 has left the West playoff race wide open and added a 5th repeated score of the season. Wee are now at 11 games since our last Scorigami.
The most common score so far being Week 10’s 27-24 with 36 occurrences (highest occurring score), and the four Scorigami games 58-36, 52-30, 53-16, and 48-29 occurring for the first time. There have been 68 different scores across the 73 games this season.
Elks vs Tiger-Cats ended in a 27-12 final for the Elks. This is the 8th time this score has taken place. First was in 1955 [IRFU] with the Ottawa Rough Riders over the Toronto Argonauts, and most recently in 2024 with the Calgary Stampeders over the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Redblacks vs Lions ended in a 41-20 final for the Lions. This is the 4th time this score has taken place. First was in 1979 with the Montreal Alouettes over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, and most recently in 2025 with the Calgary Stampeders over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Stampeders vs Blue Bombers ended in a 33-28 final for the Blue Bombers. This is the 3rd time this score has taken place. First was in 2008 with the Saskatchewan Roughriders over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, and most recently in 2017 with the Edmonton Eskimos over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
Roughriders vs Alouettes ended in a 44-24 final for the Alouettes. This is the 7th time this score has taken place. First was in 1973 with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats over the BC Lions, and most recently in Week 3 of the 2026 season with the Toronto Argonauts over the Ottawa Redblacks. This marks the 5th score to be repeated within this season.
Scorigami is the tracking of unique, re-occuring, and new scores in the CFL's history including the predecessor rugby leagues dating back to 1907. Currently, there have been 1,263 unique scores in the game’s history. Individual Scorigami results are posted in the Post Game threads of each game.

If the playoffs were held today under the 2027 playoff structure, would the Hamilton Tiger-Cats be in the playoffs?
I find the new playoff format convoluted. It was also be hilarious/sad if they would be in the playoffs.

LEAGUE ANALYSIS | ANALYSE DE LA LIGUE Playoff picture & races if 2027 format was in effect
Out: Ottawa (0-16)
October 30-31
Play-In #1: Hamilton (5-12) @ Winnipeg (8-8)
Play-In #2: Calgary (8-9) @ Saskatchewan (8-8)
East Showdown: Toronto (9-7) @ Montreal (13-3)
West Showdown: BC (10-6) @ Edmonton (12-4)
November 7
Elimination Game #1: Higher-Ranked Play-In Winner @ Lower-Ranked Showdown Loser
Elimination Game #2: Lower-Ranked Play-In Winner @ Higher-Ranked Showdown Loser
November 14
Semi-Final #1: Higher-Ranked Elim Winner @ Lower-Ranked Showdown Winner
Semi-Final #2: Lower-Ranked Elim Winner @ Higher-Ranked Showdown Winner
Positives:
- Toronto and Montreal now have meaningful games since league-wide ranking affects who you play in subsequent rounds. In real life, their games stopped mattering after Week 18
- Race for 2nd in West much more significant
- Exciting first playoff weekend with two knockout games and two marquee non-elimination games
- Fresher matchups; higher likelihood of East/West matchups in playoff rounds or same-division matchups in Grey Cup
Negatives:
- Lack of jeopardy in three-way battle between SSK/WPG/CGY since all three are slated for the play-in round; however, home playoff game still at stake
- Possibility of 5-win team winning the Grey Cup (although they would need to run a gauntlet to get there: likely @ WPG, @ BC/EDM, @ MTL)
- Worse reward for division winners: they need to win a home game to get the home semi-final berth that they currently get by default
Overall, I don’t think this will be too bad. There’s definitely a lot less jeopardy throughout the season with almost every team getting in at the end, but the difference between the top-two spots and the play-in spots is stark enough that most teams will probably view the top-two as a general goal for the regular season, as opposed to just making the playoffs at all. There’s also going to be very few games that are truly meaningless, since league-wide seeding matters in later rounds. I also think the playoffs themselves will be entertaining.

GREY CUP | COUPE GREY Why is an American headlining the Grey Cup halftime show??
todocanada.caThey've got Sarah McLachlan, Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor of Blue Rodeo, James Barker Band and the Snowbirds lined up for pre-game performances. Could the CFL not find a Canadian act to play the halftime show? Booking an American is a bit tone-deaf in present circumstances.

Does anyone have experience working this position for a Grey Cup?
Is it just ticket scanning and security?
Curious if anyone has insight on the interview process. Seems like a potentially cool opportunity? They also don’t list wage which is a bummer.
Thanks!

Help me pick a team!
Hello, Reddit!
I've decided I'm going to become a CFL fan, and I need your help picking a team!
I'm from Sacramento, so I've been vaguely aware of the CFL ever since the Sacramento Gold Miners were here when I was a kid. Sadly, I don't think we're getting the Gold Miners back anytime soon, so it's time to find a new team to call my own.
The problem is that I know next to nothing about CFL fan bases, rivalries, traditions, or what makes each team special. That's where you all come in!
A couple of things that might help narrow it down:
- I'm a Sacramento Kings fan. So, I've got a pretty high pain tolerance when it comes to sports fandom. Bonus points if your team has a history of heartbreak, questionable decisions, and just enough hope to keep you coming back. Does any team have a goofy gimmick or unique tradition like the Kings' Beam Team?
- Family connections. I absolutely adored my grandmother, who often talked about her family's roots in London, Ontario, and New Brunswick. I know neither place has a CFL team, but if there's a connection to either area, that would be a cool bonus. It's definitely not a requirement, though!
I'm not just looking to casually follow the league. I'm planning to dive in headfirst, buy some gear, learn the rivalries, and hopefully make it up to Canada to catch some games next season.
So, sell me on your team! Tell me about the fan base, the traditions, the rivalries, the heartbreak, the weird stuff, and why I should join your side.
I'm looking forward to picking a team and becoming part of the CFL community. Thanks, everyone!

ROUGHRIDERS We’re in deep sh*t
Both Calgary and Winnipeg have the tiebreakers over us by virtue of better PD in games between us.
Riders and Bombers are both 8-8; Calgary is 8-9.
SSK remaining games: home to MTL + home to EDM
WPG remaining games: away to EDM + away to BC
CGY remaining games: home to BC + BYE
Riders had better pray the opps rest their players otherwise they might not even get to the playoffs.

LEAGUE ANALYSIS | ANALYSE DE LA LIGUE I'm so glad the playoff format is changing next season!
The 8-8 Riders will be able to rest starters at this point next year! Woo!
Who needs playoff spots coming down to the wire when you can just play for seeding. These last two weeks are going to be so boring.
Thanks, Stu. You've saved the CFL.

Checking in on the game
I'm from the States and at work, so I'm just checking in on the score. What the fuck is Google doing?
