BLUE BOMBERS Zach
Anyone else notice that he appeared to be carrying around a game ball at the end of the last game? Add that to the very heartfelt thank you to the fans while being interviewed by Bain (and his choice of words), and you get the feeling that he’s retiring at the end of this season.
Or am I the only one seeing things this way?

Honestly, I hope he does. Let’s go on one more wild ride, pull off some playoff upsets and let him ride off into the sunset. Thanks for the cups, Zach. Time for a rebuild.

I noticed when he seemed to get a little choked up after the game getting interviewed about the game. Saying, "for those still here thank you...it's been a pleasure playing in front of you.. I love everything about playing in Winnipeg..."

I noted that too but assumed it was because he knew that was his last home game as a WBB.

He says he wants to play thru 2027, if he does I don't think it will be with the Bombers, they might let him test the market, and if he doesn't get picked up he will retire, but I agree I think he needs to retire

I wouldn't be surprised if he has since talked to Bomber management and been told that they will not be bringing him back next year and he decided Bombers or nothing. He definitely loves this team and I sure that, even if he plays another season with a different team, we will let him sign a one-day contract to officially retire a Bomber.

I could see that or bring him in for coaching capacity some how

I think we should absolutely keep him as a coach if he's up for it, but his playing days should be done. He spends almost as much time out with a concussion as he does on the roster, let him retire while he still had the mental capacity to pass on his knowledge as a part of our coaching staff.

Love to see him as part as our coaching staff as well and I agree, he needs to realize he isn't getting any younger and re evulate everything, maybe help with the QBs he's really good friends with Drew Brown so it just makes sense, he knows the team and playbook so why not

What other team would want him at this point in his career?

He's made winnipeg his full time home basically. His kids go to school here, etc. I think he'd be great starting as a QB coach for us if he chooses to retire. Hope he doesn't, though

I’m with you. He spoke like a guy who had played his last game in front of the hometown fans.
I know that he had said that he wanted to continue playing, but I think “want” and “will” will be a serious conversation for he and his family in the off-season.
He’s missed a lot of games this season. with injuries, and although he wants to continue, he also might realize that it’s time to move on to the next stage of life.
His acquisition from the Argos was, possibly, one of the most franchise altering trade-deadline deals in the history of the CFL and he will ALWAYS be QB1 in this city and in my heart.
