This article is extremely vague. “WCAX has learned of the possibility that Nectar’s will return after shutting its doors last summer, citing the impact of Main Street construction and staffing issues.”

Who has the scoop?

A charity has been dropping off food for someone in my neighborhood, but can't seem to find them. Two weeks in a row, someone knocked on a few doors looking for the person. We told them that we didn't know who they were looking for. They have started just leaving the food on the ground including an unrefrigerated carton of milk and what looks like a steamed entree. It sits there for days until one of my neighbors or I dispose of it. I would like to connect with the charity to help find the correct address or stop service.

Does anyone recognize this meal kit? Do you know what organization is having them delivered?

Thank you!

This is the gofundme for the children of the woman whose life was taken in front of them in Burlington.... please donate and if you can't afford to... at least take the moment to share it.

If there are any science fiction fans out there: I’ll be interviewing Annalee Newitz about their books at Phoenix Books at 7:00PM.

Annalee founded the website io9 and has written some of the best science fiction novels in recent years: Autonomous, The Terraformers, and Automatic Noodle, as well as a bunch of nonfiction books (Scatter, Adapt, Remember, Four Lost Cities, and Stories Are Weapons). They just had a new one come out called A Wall Is Also A Road, which is fantastic.

That race isn't in my district, so I've got no dog in the fight. However, it seems like she's always in the middle of one controversy or another. Is being a provocateur just part of her schtick?

I saw that Burlington is starting an ABA basketball team. Is anyone familiar with this league? I only saw season pass tickets available, I'm curious if individual game tickets will be available at any point? Looking to gauge if folks are interested in supporting this.

Considering the massive success and hype of VT Green the last few seasons, it seems like this could be a parallel to that but for basketball? Maybe I'm reaching a bit

Hi! I’m looking for a job. I’m a Burlington local and I hate my current job and am looking for a new one. For some reason nobody posts jobs on Indeed anymore! Could someone tell me some local places that are hiring?

Thanks! 😊

Local musician/artist here! I have been trying to get in touch with someone at Monkey House for about a year now and haven't heard back. I have a few other friends who say they've emailed and can't get a reply either. Are they no longer booking locals or are they just really bad at communicating? I get if we're not the sound they're looking for but it would be nice to at least get a reply! Has anyone had any luck? Are their any other venues in Winooski area that book and pay local music?

I saw this dude on TikTok (Aaron uploadz or something) who’s making posts from grocery stores, book stores, libraries, etc harassing the employees, customers, etc and I’m finding myself so frustrated? He’s also harassed ppl on church street and he’s wearing meta glasses. Posting so folks working in local businesses are aware.

I walked by Kismayo Kitchen today and there was a glowing open sign + an open sign on the door and cars in the lot. I went in and ordered a cheesesteak. The employees there says it’s their first day reopening since it closed a few weeks ago. The cheesesteak was amazing, just as good as it was before they closed! I’m so happy it’s back

Sometimes I tune into 95.5 to take a break from my music app and they recently announced James charles is guess DJ tomorrow. I think its wild they would play his music and have him guess DJ considering he was really creepy with younger boys. 🤷‍♀️

recently moved here and don’t have my connections! I know Burlington is broadly progressive but I wanna be able to book my first manicure in comfort knowing I won’t be harshly judged by the person across from me.

Not looking for anything fancy, just a clean up and some paint…
Thank you!!

If you haven't heard yet, Elon has cut off Starlink to Ukraine. It's critical to nearly every facet of their lives- from civilians to to the battlefield. That Trump and Elon would do this to a desperate European democracy is abhorrent. I don't know what we can do besides gather, march, and demand, but something MUST be done. Internet service has to be restored to these poor people IMMEDIATELY.

Does anyone know of planned demonstrations scheduled in Chittenden county? Is there a group I can contact? I have never been this ashamed and angry, and with the idiot man-child at the helm, there has been plenty to be ashamed of and mad about. I feel so goddamned helpless. I can't even imagine how Ukrainians must feel. This is pure evil.

Has anyone been? Do they actually have good cocktails?

Give me your juiciest Burlington gossip.

What’s there to do in burly this year?

Who do I need to write a letter to, who do I need to vote for, who do I need to slap. Every. Fucking. Day. There is an accident on the winooski bridge. I travel 25mi or more a day on 89 and the ONLY area that ROUTINELY has accidents is the area between exits 16 and 14, primarily the winooski bridge area. I can’t help but assume that it’s mostly young distracted rushing drivers. I see you all every morning texting, eating, doing makeup, driving like assholes because you’re running late on your 12 minute commute. Some of us have a 45min commute and leave ourselves an extra 15min. And yet we STILL get fucked by you assholes being incapable of merging and driving normally on the highway. And then when I see the guilty parties standing outside their crushed cars it’s always the same - a handful of 20-35yo who were absolutely rushing and distracted or driving too aggressively.

So maybe I’m not done being pissed. But I’m ready for action. What do we actually need to do to effect change in this corridor? This isn’t the goddamn 405 in LA. None of us should have to plan an extra half an hour or more to commute.

What’s the plan for the deep rutting on I-89 once winter arrives? During heavy rain, the ruts pool water and pull vehicles sideways, which is already unnerving. I’m curious how that will play out when they fill with ice.

EDIT: Yes, I will look into "going back to where I came from" (also Vermont).

EDIT: Just don't call them "ruts"! That annoys VTrans.

Some guy in a grey suv just drove by me while I was sitting on my porch and asked if he could suck my toes for cash and then lingered. Has this happened to anyone else who is this guy 😭

Witnessed this guy going at least 70 in the left lane to skip the traffic due to the pedestrian work. He almost hit a white work truck, couldn’t slow down and had to drive into the grass median area to avoid hitting the truck. This guy almost drove head into the LED arrow sign where the left lane officially closed. Shame on you Audi man, risking other people’s wellbeing like that.

Edit: I was the passenger but thanks

you already know where it’s at.

exit 15, Winooski, multiple cars involved is what it looks like. Traffic is starting to back up, good luck out there.

My go-to genital groomer has moved on to…thicker pastures and with winter coming I am in need of an expert who can machete my jungle before it reclaims my once sparse hills and valleys. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Hey beautiful people! My wife and I are visiting Burlington this weekend (Friday to Sunday) and are hoping to enjoy the fall foliage in your beautiful city and the surrounding areas. 🍂
Any suggestions on must-visit spots in Burlington or scenic places within a 20–30 minute drive? We’d also love recommendations for fun activities or things to do this weekend.
We both don’t drink, so wineries and pubs aren’t really our thing. We’d love to hear about your favorite scenic drives, hikes, viewpoints, cute towns, or any hidden gems we shouldn’t miss!
Looking forward to exploring your beautiful area. Thanks so much for your suggestions! 😊
