I was told I'm supposed to fill a 2 bar rack in 45 minute and have it on the floor before 15 minutes.
Why does this time feel impossible to me? I tried to do it just like the other girls. They don't pack the racks tightly and the hangers are slightly loose from one another. But when I did that, my supervisor told me to go back and "make it fuller".
Now I'm packing those two bars with as much clothes as possible, but it's taking me nearly two hours for a very packed, heavy af, full rack.
It just feels a bit unfair... And not only that, but it's takes me a full 20 minutes to put all the clothes away, especially when I'm not familiar with where everything goes.
Now I have another woman across me help me out with the timing and how to organize the racks. So I managed to reduce the time from 20 to 16, but it's not enough. She doesn't HAVE to help me either, she chose to sacrificed her own time to help me take my rack to the floor. I appreciate her so much.
Which leads me to say that Burlington is very bad at training their employees.. that my own coworker is doing it out of her own free will. They don't tell you where anything is, how to properly read tags, the basic stuff, etc. Mind you, this is my first time doing retail.
Today my manager took me aside and asked me how long should I take filling the racks? How long should the floor be? How long I've worked there? How long did my willing coworker train me? I answered them all. She said the new girl today was already doing better than me. And to add, my manager said that everyone could've gone home earlier if it weren't for me.
I can't help but cry a bit because I'm truly trying the best I could. Even when I actually try, I can't seem to do it. I just don't understand how the others are able to do it. I don't understand how the new girl is already doing better than me.
For the first time, I think me trying my hardest means nothing.
It doesn't help when no one there is bothering to remember how to properly pronounce my name, and keep calling me debri, which literally means trash. I stopped correcting, and I feel foolish responding when they call me that.
I feel like I'd be extremely embarrassed and cry if I get fired for not being able to do what seems so obviously easy to everyone else. So I want to quit first before they could, but then I'd feel extra embarrassed for being unemployed living with many others.
I don't know what to do! I just feel so useless and like a moocher! I just don't want to show up tomorrow or anywhere else at all, I want to hide my face.
