Had some TLC performed on my 2019 Nardo Grey RS5 Sportback after a detailing disaster with a prior detailer (not all of the work was related to that though).
Work included removing the old partial PPF and installing full-front PPF, a two-step paint correction, 5-year ceramic coating, restoring the gloss-black window trim with new vinyl, replacing and re-tinting the rear driver’s-side window, and repainting the hood.
In this spec, this is the most beautiful modern Audi imo, it just looks so expensive and head turning (ignores the interior*), it just needs a classic logo and some sharp body lines... but tell me WHY in the world is the S badge in black? isn'it supposed to be Aluminum optics??
Let me know what you think of this configuration!!
This is my second A5 Sportback. Love the styling, sportiness and the occasional compliment from strangers.
Yes, that’s a read ribbon on the steering column. Every time I buy a new car, my aunt puts a red ribbon on my steering column. It’s apparently an Italian tradition for safety. It’s always her first priority and then she throws a bunch of change in my back seats 😂
Anyone else have traditions with their cars?
Also, 50k miles on my A5 with no major issues ever. I hope I can get this baby past the 100k mark.
First Audi, just picked up a 2026 SQ5 - the car is decent. and I actually like a (good) Virtual Cockpit.
What’s driving me fucking crazy is that all the useful information that should go with the tachometer is tiny and shoved off to the side.
Right in the middle of this huge tach, Audi decided to display “1/min x 1000”. Why?? Everyone who owns this car knows that
Meanwhile, if I’m in S or manual mode, the actual gear I’m in — M1, M2, M3, etc. — is tiny as fuck off to the bottom/right. When switching to comfort, dynamic and off road it’s very tiny and it’s hard tell what mode you’re in from a quick glance while driving.
I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how to customize the display further than changing what shows up on the left and right squares (nothing driving related / useful) - does anyone know how to fix it?
Very happy customer here. Have been driving this A5 Sportback S line for about a month now and am very pleased. Bought it preowned w/ 30k miles which certainly is a lot in that amount of time but it had tons of service records. Felt like a ton of car for $30k though! Glad someone else ate that deprecation for me. One question: am I missing out by not having the new, massive wrap around infotainment system? This still has the smaller 10 inch screen from the older models. It works just fine and does everything I need. Am I just getting some fomo or is it dramatically different?
Hi, i am considering buying this full black 2021 audi a4 but the problem is it has 60k miles on it. Is it not too much? What are your opinions guys. Btw this is from audi select so the car is in good shape. I just want to know how many more miles it can do.
I don't know if it's normal for it to look in such bad shape, but it look disguting, or if the dealership tried to clean it and ended up ruining the interior?
My a4 b9 is at 62k miles and wanted to see how my suspension looks. Also had a minor concern: On the highway/ during mid-hard acceleration I noticed vibration in the steering wheel and seats. Any ideas?
In May of this year, I purchased a 2021 A6 55 TFSI Quattro. It had about 40,000 miles on it and two previous owners with adequate service records. Since then, I’ve had multiple expensive problems:
Passenger engine mount collapsed, dashboard throwing malfunction code (putting a bunch of false error lights up) and now I have a turbo underboost code (P0299).
I’m wondering if i just didn’t do enough research, because everything I found had talked about how these were pretty solid, especially after the rocker arm problems were fixed on the newer MY’s of the EA389. Now also afraid of my water pump going too…
Would love to know if this is common on this model/powertrain and if anyone else has had these problems, or if I’m just unlucky.
Wondering if these should use a little bit of RTV or not? B7 S4 4.2. Also, cut this blue outlined part off last time i did this. Any idea what its for? Driver’s side valve cover if it matters
I’m considering buying a 2021 Audi Q7 with 68,000 miles and two previous owners. I currently drive a 2019 Honda Passport Sport with 90,000 miles, but I’m looking for something more luxurious and comfortable. What potential problems could I run into with the Audi, and how reliable is it overall if I plan to keep it for the next couple of years (30k miles)? Would you recommend making the switch?
There's news this week about the A8 that's both centering out of the German press and also consistent with something I heard a few weeks ago when there was discussion about Neckarsulm closing. Basically, the idea is that the next A8 is a go and is slated to be built in Leipzig by Porsche, which also points towards a shift to the same MSB architecture that underpins the Porsche Panamera and Bentley Continental Series. I have full analysis and more renderings of this model I created using Concept C and Nuvolari design on an A8-sized vehicle. Check it out at ooooIYKYK.com
Current is 2018 S4 Prestige with just over 110k miles on it. Has been an amazing vehicle, never had an issue with it and the only repairs were all preventative maintenance. Did the water pump and sensors etc before it killed itself with coolant. Changed oil filter stand, drive belt, pcv valve. Otherwise just regular oil, tire and brake changes.
Have always loved the Q8 and drove one recently and then drove the SQ8. Wow what a difference. Found a nice used one with just over 20k miles which would give me 30k miles and one year of factory warranty left if I went for it.
Just Bought a b6 Audi avant 1.8t with 140k miles for 4k. I don’t want to get carried away but what kinds of things can I do to this car? Nothing crazy, rims, exhaust, intake, suspension kinds of things. If anyone’s done anything to their a4 avants lmk. Thanks!
My wife and I are considering purchasing a used Audi Q7 from an Audi dealership, but we noticed something concerning during our inspection. she had a car accident last month and her audi got totaled.
The rear bumper cover appears to have separated near the weatherstripping, leaving a gap of approximately half an inch. I can see some of the clips through the gap, but I can't tell whether they're broken or simply disengaged.
The Carfax report shows no accidents. However, the vehicle's official service records mention a “sensor drop off” followed by reinstallation.
I asked the sales manager to restore the bumper to its original, properly aligned condition before we purchased the vehicle. He said they could try to pop the bumper back into place if a clip was loose, but they couldn't guarantee in writing that the issue would be fixed. He also mentioned that a full rear bumper alignment could involve more extensive work.
I contacted the service manager at another Audi dealership where we regularly service our vehicles. After hearing the details, he considered this a potential red flag and said he personally would hesitate to purchase the vehicle.
For context, the bumper appears to fit flush against the body on both the left and right sides. The gap is along the rear portion of the bumper near the weatherstripping, and it appears relatively uniform. I've attached photos for reference.
I'm not very familiar with Audi bumper construction, so I'd appreciate input from anyone with experience in Audi bodywork or collision repair.
Based on the photos, what components could cause this type of gap? Could it be a loose clip, a broken retaining tab, a damaged bumper guide bracket, or something else?
Could the gap be related to the previous “sensor drop off/reinstallation” service record?
Is it possible for a bumper to have this kind of gap without the vehicle having been in an accident?
What would a body shop typically inspect to determine the underlying cause?
Would you consider this a reason to walk away from the purchase unless an independent collision center inspects it first?
I'm not asking for a repair estimate. I'm mainly trying to understand what might be causing the gap, what the inspection process should involve, and whether this is a concerning sign when buying a used Q7.
It’s been over 10 years since I’ve had my car and it’s never had any issues (got it August 2016). I’ve been seeing some stuff about car batteries dying recently which just got me thinking about mine.
I have ~73k miles on it and I barely drive it during the week (working remotely). On the weekends I tend to take it for longer drives which I’ve heard helps with the charge. I also don’t live in a cold climate area.
I’m thinking of taking it to the shop just to check the battery levels, and also because I don’t think Audis gives a notification that the car battery is low — or does it? I also have to do an oil change and tire rotation soon anyway. Should I just wait it out until I get a notification within if there is one? I’m thinking a decade of use warrants a check.
Another thing I’ve heard is that Audis just have some superb car battery life, which makes me wonder if I do change it from the original factory provided one, life will never be as good as I first had it and I’ll probably have to change the new one every 3-5 years sadly.
I'm planning to change the oil in the rear and center differentials on my 2013 Audi A5 Quattro S tronic, 7-speed gearbox, 2.0 TDI.
For the rear differential, I bought Febi SAE 75W-90 GL-5, which I believe is the correct oil.
For the center differential inside the gearbox, I bought Febi SAE 75W-85 GL-5 (FB 48785), which lists the following Audi specifications:
G 052 145, G 052 145 A1, G 052 145 S2, G 052 190, G 052 190 A2, G 055 190, G 055 190 A2.
However, AI says that the center differential requires Audi specification G 055 145 A2, which apparently contains a special friction modifier. The problem is that this oil costs around 55 € per liter.
What should I do? Can I safely use the Febi 75W-85 GL-5 oil I already bought, or do I need to buy the much more expensive G 055 145 A2 oil?
I'd really appreciate any advice from someone with experience working on this drivetrain.
