Links to download apps on any site other than the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store are no longer allowed.

They're impossible to moderate and will no longer be allowed what so ever. Any post or comment in this sub not from either app store or a few common image hosting sites (ie, imgur, reddit, twimg/twitter) are automatically removed. Certain domains that are frequently spammed here are marked for either spam or banning of accounts (I won't list these domains for obvious reasons).

App Made a unique doomscroll app that actually works

• Upvotes

Looking for genuine feedback on my app ! (Early stages)

I actually work in healthcare with addiction patients so I have a good 2cents to add to this topic which everyone these days seems to struggle from. The best way to quit something you're addicted to isn't to go cold turkey or delete the apps, everyone will work around it some way or another.

The best way is to manage your expectations of reducing your screentime. If you're on 9 hours a day, just try to go down to 8 hours for a few weeks. It's a marathon not a sprint, genuinely your brain receptors are used to a certain level of stimulation so you need to reframe the reduction to be much slower - allow yourself to still use your phone without full blocking it out, but just be more conscious of it.

So I coded an app (android only, sorry) just for this , because I had the same situation as you. Everytime I deleted social media I just worked around it, and I also hated not being able to reply to messages if I was fully locked out.

The app idea is that it allows you to use whichever app you're addicted to (tiktok, insta etc) for a short period of time that you set (E.g. 10 mins) and then it locks it for only a short period afterwards (E.g. 30 mins). This way you don't get stuck in those massive doomscrolling sessions lasting hours, and are able to slowly reduce app use over time by constricting the time limits as you please. You just set it and forget it, it runs in the background.

It's pretty new and has a few glitches (will be fixing them after my exams lol) but if you wanted to try it out here's the link :

It's called recess - stop doomscrolling

[Dev] Daybook: tasks, calendar and a time clock on one page. Lifetime is 50% off for the first 50 people

I'm the developer of Daybook, a day planner for iPhone and iPad. It puts the day on one page: the tasks due, your calendar events, and the time you spend, from morning to night.

**Launch offer: Lifetime Pro is 50% off for the first 50 people, until December 31.** In the US that's $49.99 instead of $99, paid once, with every feature I add later included. No subscription.

- On iPhone, open this link to redeem it: https://apps.apple.com/redeem?ctx=offercodes&id=6812408421&code=LIFETIME50

- Or buy on the website with code LIFETIME50 at checkout ($49.50), and sign in to the app with the same account.

Not sure yet? Every account starts with a 7-day free trial, and monthly ($5) and yearly ($30) plans are there too.

What you get:

- A Live Activity for the running clock, on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island

- Home Screen widgets for the day

- Offline first: everything is stored on the device and syncs with the website

- Passkey sign-in with Face ID or Touch ID

- iPad layouts with a sidebar

- Habits, countdowns, stats, and a register of the things you own

No ads, no tracking. Feedback and bug reports are very welcome. I read everything.

Help me find Looking for a shared scoreboard / count keeping app on iOS

Whaddup, I‘m looking for an app to keep count of stuff with my friend. What I‘m imagining is something like a scoreboard, where you can +1 / -1 buttons for both users. So for example if we want to track who eats more pizza, we can always +1 ourselves if we eat one, and see the score on our individual phones.

A simple counter would do, but featured like multiple scoreboards or entering large numbers would be appreciated, but aren’t necessary. Alternatively I‘d just use a shared note in the default notes app, but that wouldn’t be as much fun :)

App [DEV] Binge: a movie and TV companion for iPhone, iPad and Mac

I'm Shihab, the developer of Binge. It brings movie discovery and TV episode tracking together for people juggling a watchlist and several shows.

Continue Watching keeps your next unwatched episode handy, while Airing Next shows upcoming episodes. For choosing a movie, there are upcoming releases, streaming availability, cast/director filmographies, and ratings from Rotten Tomatoes, Letterboxd and Metacritic. You can also import existing lists/history from services including Letterboxd, IMDb, TV Time, Simkl and Trakt; coverage depends on the export.

Binge is free to download with paid Pro subscriptions and a lifetime option. Ongoing Trakt sync, airing notifications and jump-scare timelines for supported films require Pro. The iPhone, iPad and Mac apps require OS 26 or later.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/binge-movies-and-shows/id6755895331

I'd welcome feedback on the discovery and episode-tracking workflow.

App [DEV] DAY'S: an offline iPhone trip log with a stay-day calendar and business-trip reports

I'm the developer of DAY'S. It keeps your country stays, trip dates and document records together on iPhone. Dates are entered manually, so you don't need GPS tracking or a DAY'S account.

Alongside the trip history, there's a stay-day calendar with a Schengen 90/180 mode. For business trips, you can add a company, project and notes, filter your history and export a CSV report.

The core tracker is free and works offline. Optional monthly Premium adds future stay forecasts, local limit reminders and private iCloud sync. The App Store shows your regional subscription price before purchase.

Available in English, Spanish and Russian on iOS 16+: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6464660094

If you try it, I'd like to know whether entering a past trip and understanding the calendar are straightforward. The count depends on your entered history; it doesn't confirm permission to enter a country.

Misc I’ll design free App Store screenshots for the first 2 apps in the comments

I’m making screenshot concepts for two apps today. The image shows the kind of work I can make, with a different style for each app.

If you’d like one, comment with your App Store link and a short description of your app. If it isn’t live yet, share a few raw screenshots instead. I’ll take the first two with enough details to work from.

Help me find Achievement live history

I’m looking for an app tool about creating a diary and aggregating some of my achievements. On the one hand, describe your life a little and on the other hand, aggregate e.g. Read books, sports achievements, certificates or played games. Not necessarily immediately public, but maybe for yourself too, unless it’s best to make your own website online as your own altar.

I would love to look for someone, for example, using something like this. I entered basic passwords and these applications either focused on gamivalizations or on diaries.

I spent 2 years building the lifting tracker I couldn't find: tempo, pauses, grip/stance/deficit variations, L/R sides, and it's mostly free

Hello, for the last two years I've been working on my workout app CataLift and I feel like it is in a good spot to show off comfortably to the public.

At first, I built it because I was frustrated with not being able to have features such as tempo, pause, supersets, rest between sets, rest between exercises, plate calculator, and variations (grip width, stance, deficit, left/right side tracking), etc. on the app I was using at the time.

I also found other fitness apps too restrictive and a bit slow in terms of response times during workouts at the gym.

From there, I expanded it into being able to find alternatives if your equipment is taken and even social challenge elements.

I also wanted to add gamification options to incentivize progress and workouts with badges and achievements and you even have the ability to prestige.

You can add your own programs to it as well to make setting your gym session up as easy as just inputting your RPE.

Almost all of the app's features can be accessed for free besides the advanced progress reports.

I'm very excited about it and I hope you guys give it a try.

Right now I'm building leaderboards, which I'm excited about.

Please let me know if you have any questions or requests.

App PayToUnlock: I built an app that locks your whole phone, because blocking one app still leaves plenty of distractions

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Ever blocked a distracting app, then opened a different one instead? YouTube becomes Instagram. Instagram becomes your browser. Your focus time disappears anyway.

That’s why I built PayToUnlock for Android. Its main feature is simple: it locks your whole phone during a focus session, instead of blocking individual apps.

A quick phone check can turn into a long distraction. PayToUnlock puts a barrier between the urge to check your phone and using it again.

Here’s what you get:

🔒 Whole-phone focus lock: Choose your session length and put your phone aside. It unlocks automatically when the timer finishes. Emergency calls remain available.

📅 Scheduled sessions: Make room for studying, focused work, or time away from your screen.

📊 Progress tracking: See your focus activity and build consistency, one session at a time.

💵 A reason to keep going: If you choose to end a session early, there’s a US$1 early-unlock fee.

🎁 A 3-day free trial: Try it and see whether this approach fits your routine. Review the subscription terms in the app. Early-unlock fees are separate from subscription access.

If you keep finding your way around individual app blockers, this could help you make a stronger commitment to your focus time.

Start small. One focused session is time you’ve chosen to give back to something that matters to you.

👉 Try PayToUnlock on Google Play

I’m the developer, and I’d love your honest feedback: have you ever blocked one app, only to start scrolling somewhere else?

Question / Discussion Google apps are better than Apple apps. 🤦🏾‍♂️ But of course Apple apps do many advantages. 💁🏾‍♂️

Google Maps is better than Apple Maps in terms of accuracy and coverage in many parts of the world. In South Africa, many places and organizations don't appear on Apple Maps. However, I like the fact that Apple Maps doesn't use the outdated Mercator projection.

YouTube Music is better than Apple Music when it comes to random song playback and music curation, but I do like the fact that music sounds better on Apple Music.

Google Photos is better than Apple Photos when it comes to organizing photos and making it easier to find specific photos and videos. However, I like the GIF feature, which is better than what I've seen in most other apps.

The Google Play Store is better than the Apple App Store in terms of categorization. Most apps developed in my country seem to be available only on Android, which is frustrating because it feels like developers assume everyone uses Android. The Play Store is also well optimized, but the Apple App Store has a much better selection of high-quality apps and games that you won't find on Google Play.

Finally, Gemini is better than Apple Intelligence, and now that Apple Intelligence uses Gemini, at least Apple is heading in the right direction.

Chrome is great because it's available across multiple platforms, including Android, HarmonyOS, iOS, macOS, and Windows. However, I like how fast Safari is, and I also appreciate the animations on Apple's service websites.

Can't Apple look at how Google and other companies design their apps and identify areas where they can improve? I'm not saying they should copy their competitors, but they should pay attention to what other apps do well and learn from them. After all, competition should encourage companies to improve their products and provide users with a better experience. It's also okay that they don't want their apps to be compatible with other OS

App I made a shopping app where nothing gets delivered | almostcart

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

I built almostcart around a simple idea: sometimes browsing and building the cart is part of the experience, but that doesn't mean the purchase has to happen.

almostcart lets you browse Food, Fashion and Gadgets, build a cart, record why you're considering the purchase, and release the cart instead of buying.

It also has Tiny Swap daily challenges, subscription tracking, Buy Lists, points/levels and behavioural Insights.

The Android version is live now. iOS coming soon.

Cost:

The core app is free. There is an optional Almost Pro lifetime purchase that unlocks custom tiny swap challenges, unlimited friends and subscription tracking and detailed insights.

App ReelOnes: movie matching and inspiration

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Hello everyone

16 months ago I planned to make a quick app for just me and my wife but then my kids found it useful and then friends so I started to expand and feature build and now it's something I'm rather proud of.

In a nutshell, the "problem" it solved was finding movies that my wife and I BOTH wanted to watch. We would spend forever scrolling through options, each trying to guess what the other might like.

ReelOnes is essentially a movie matching app. You build lists for whatever you want, comedies, best of the 90s etc. We've also got a fair few curated pre built watchlists (and happy to get suggestions for more!). You send the list of things you want to watch to your friend, when you get a match, both sides have it in their Playlist so whenever you're next in the mood for a movie you've got your shared watch list already.

THANK YOU FOR READING! I would love you to give it a go, it's completely free and just a bit of fun 🙏

App I built a movie & TV discovery app Meet CineMatch!

Hey everyone! 👋

As a huge movie fan and Android developer, I always wanted a clean, fast, and modern app to keep track of what to watch next without clutter or annoying ads.

That's why I built CineMatch.

It's an Android app powered by the TMDB API that helps you discover trending films, check detailed cast info, read reviews, and build your watchlist seamlessly.

Tech Stack & Highlights:

- Built completely natively using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose with Material 3 design.

- Clean architecture and modern Android best practices.

- Supports 9 different languages, making it accessible globally.

- Fast performance and a smooth UI/UX.

I've just finished putting the finishing touches on version 1.4 and I'm looking for some feedback from the community. If you love discovering movies or just want to check out a fresh Jetpack Compose app, I'd love for you to try it out!

App Chiipin — a bill-splitter for roommates that handles rent, recurring bills, and the "I wasn't even here that month" argument

Hey,

I'm an indie dev, just shipped v1.0.11 of Chiipin — my take on splitting bills with roommates. The whole UI got redone in this version, so figured it's a good time to share.

The pitch: splitting a dinner is a solved problem. Splitting a flat isn't. Rent, internet, utilities come back every month, amounts move, people come and go mid-lease. Chiipin does the normal one-off split, but the part I cared about is households:

  • **Recurring bills** — set up rent once, it comes back every month, split by who actually lived there that month
  • **Move-out statements** when someone leaves
  • **Split three ways** — evenly, exact amounts, or item by item, with tax and tip split properly
  • **Receipt scanning** that runs on-device (if it can't read one alone, it goes through Apple's Private Cloud Compute — the photo never reaches my servers)
  • **Settle up with the fewest payments** — it nets out who owes whom
  • **Shared pantry tracker** — what's in the house, low-stock alerts, expiry warnings, barcode scanning
  • **Widgets** for Home Screen, Lock Screen and Control Center

Free tier covers everyday splitting + one household; Pro ($3.99/mo) adds unlimited recurring bills, multiple households, spending reports, CSV export.

iOS only: https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/chiipin-split-bills-rent/id6803964957

For the roommates here: how do you currently handle the "I wasn't even here that month" argument?

Ferry: an RSS reader for iPhone, iPad and Mac that ranks stories by how many sources covered them

I'm the solo developer of Ferry, an RSS reader for iPhone, iPad and Mac.

Most readers sort by newest. Ferry also counts how many outlets across the web are covering each story and ranks by that, so a story ten of your sources ran sits above whatever just came in. Under each headline it shows how many feeds carried it, and you can tap to read every version side by side.

  • No account and no identifiers. The server never learns which feeds you follow or what you read.
  • OPML import and export, FreshRSS sync (Inoreader, BazQux and The Old Reader coming soon), smart folders, offline reading, Spotlight and widgets.
  • On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, it can summarise where outlets agree and where one breaks from the rest, on the device.

Free to download and fully usable. Ferry Plus adds the Trending sort for your own feeds, the full coverage view and all Discover topics: $19.99/year, $2.49/month, or $49.99 once.

iPhone and iPad: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6799505775?platform=iphone

Mac: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6799505775?platform=mac

Honest feedback, good or bad, is very welcome.
