As a reminder, sale of modified devices such as those from Zinwa is NOT allowed.
This is for a multitude of reasons but most importantly there have been issues with people buying up the already limited stock for the sole purpose of reselling them at a profit. We are not saying everyone who has ever sold one is guilty of this but it is not our job to interrogate every seller and try to figure out their real intentions (people lie anyways).
All that being said, it looks like the announcement post got removed by accident (likely by me when I was cleaning things up) so I am not going to action on any recent posts but if it is seen again we will be taking action against said users.
Sale of unmodified devices is permitted as always.

This would allow you to use desktop Linux on your phone. The BlackBerry keyboard can be used for typing stuff like commands. The circle pad can be used to control the mouse.
I'm assuming the BlackBerry keyboard will be good enough because of the amount of people that loved typing on them. I got my first phone after phones stopped having physical keyboards.
Does the keyboard work for all the special characters used in programming?

Among the countless phones in the world, Sony has managed to endure. Despite their extremely high price tags, people still buy them; they have held their ground quite well.
BlackBerry was a unique smartphone brand—cherished by many and regarded as a symbol of both prestige and security. I cannot fathom why it had to collapse; it is worth considering whether it fell victim to some sort of conspiracy.
I own three BlackBerry phones—the Z10, Z30, and Passport—and I intend to preserve them for the next generation.

Since getting my Blackberry classic, I've written 4,325 words on the thing. These are all my stories words counts added into one amount and wow, I haven't written this much in a long time lol. I mostly write on the classic because I use colour notes to write then I copy and paste it and send the text to myself on Telegram X.
I have written stuff on the 9900 but unfortunately I haven't transferred those note files over. I'd reckon I've easily churned out another 400 or so words on there or more. I actually find I type way faster on the 9900.
There's just something so satisfying and addicting about typing on these keyboards that make me want to just write.
I bought these phones primarily for their older cameras, aesthetic, to use as mp3 players and to possible use as a cheaper quasi alternative to the expensive freewrite devices. They don't have a lot of the features those devices have but I've seen a massive improvement in my fiction output at a fraction of the cost.
So yeah, writers for blackberry! I just wanted to glaze Blackberry.
Also this post features my dog!

For context, I'm trying to connect device to macbook with m1 processor. It doesn't support dual windows installation so I have to resort to using virtual machine. This is a most probable source of issues but I want to exclude everything else.
VM is run via UTM application with arm64 Win11 in virtualization mode.
UTM sees connected device and prompts to show it to guest OS which I did.
I installed Blackberry Desktop Software from http://nokia4ever.com/
Win11 sees device if connected in mass storage mode.
Both BB Link and DBBT can't see the connected device (I disabled usb mass storage mode, charge only mode and manual ip address in USB settings)
Any suggestions?

Hello, i bought recently a used Blackberry Bold 9900 from eBay, lucky I am , the phone is not reported stolen, meanwhile I am encountered 2 issues with it. The 1rst issue, I have a non functional key, the A key. The second I have the internet browser that it cannot go on every website in 3g format, I am on wifi. When I am in 3g , I have the same thing that this connection is not secured from many websites, such as Google as well , did you encounter this problem ? It is not emergency, but I would like to know how to deal with, and I bought as well another Blackberry q10, still waiting the delivery 😊

I recently picked up a BlackBerry Curve 9350, and all has been well until I got a few apps on it. Tonight, it had an Error 603, and when I took the battery out it takes me to this simple menu screen, and it won’t let me navigate it. I also can’t get it to connect to the computer at all. Any guess as to what the problem is?

These three sit on my desk. They’re part of the reason I do what I do today.
I’ve loved BlackBerry since I was a kid, long before I could explain what made their designs special. Now that I’m an industrial designer myself, I can see how much thought went into them—the proportions, the engineering, the keyboards, the way they sit in your hand. That feeling of holding a solid, premium product with a clear purpose.
Even today, parts of that design thinking find their way into my own projects.
And that’s what makes their exit so hard to accept. How does a company with that much identity, engineering talent, and recognition end up with no place in the smartphone market?
I know they didn’t simply stop trying. BB10 happened. Android happened. I know the app ecosystem mattered, and loving a product doesn’t make its business sustainable.
But I still struggle with the idea that leaving phones behind was where the story had to end. We’ve seen companies in tech and automotive come close to collapse, rethink themselves, and come back. I wish BlackBerry could have found that next chapter while keeping what made its phones worth caring about.
Their focus on security and privacy. The fluid, purposeful interface. Physical keyboards that felt integral to the device. Hardware with an identity you could recognise from across a room.
I keep wondering what these phones could have become if that thinking had kept evolving with modern technology. A focused keyboard lineup, alongside touchscreen devices, with the software and app support people needed. Could a smaller version of that business have survived? Or am I underestimating just how difficult things had become?
The interest in keyboard phones makes that question harder to let go of. It doesn’t prove a BlackBerry comeback would work, but it makes me wonder whether some of what people wanted from them ever really disappeared.
If anyone here worked at BlackBerry during that era, I’d love to hear from you. From inside the company, did a different future still feel possible? What do those of us on the outside misunderstand?
Maybe a comeback is wishful thinking. I still wish they’d consider it.
Because I look at these every day, and I don’t just see what BlackBerry used to be. I keep thinking about what it could have become.

Testing out this blackberry 9720 I got and everything works really great except the sim card. It wont get recognized and it keeps telling me to insert a sim card even though I did. Is there any solution for that?

Hi everyone, I'm new to the group. I'm a BlackBerry fan and I wanted to show you my BlackBerry Curve 8520, which is immaculate and in perfect condition.

11 years ago I built a picture password lock screen for Android 4 (video). Then Android 5 changed how the lock screen works, and it died there.
I’ve used BlackBerry for over a decade, and picture password was the feature I always wished everyone else would copy. Nobody did. So I built PP Vault.
How it unlocks: a grid of letters and numbers floats over a photo you choose. You drag the grid until your character sits on your spot, and let go. The grid reshuffles every time, so someone watching you unlock learns nothing they can use next time. Nothing is typed, so there’s nothing to shoulder-surf on the train, in the office or on a shared screen.
What it holds: 2FA codes, logins, notes, files, photos, music and video, in folders you name, each with its own lock if you want one.
What’s under the hood:
Out now on Android and Chrome, with iOS coming soon. Backups move between all of them.
I’d love feedback, especially from fellow BlackBerry users. Happy to answer anything about how it works.
https://www.ppvault.app
Chrome has a Pro feature: 100% off code PPVFREE100

I just finished an (unofficial of course) LocalSend client for BlackBerry 10. Now you can send files between your Z10/Passport/Classic and your phone or PC over Wi-Fi, with no cables, no cloud, and no sketchy bridge apps.
GitHub https://github.com/ItsLaurelNotYanny/localsend-bb10/releases
It’s a hobby project, so bug reports, feedback and PRs are very welcome. Let me know if it works on your device!

I’ve been working on a native Reddit client tailored for BlackBerry. A very early proof-of-concept version is now available via App World (https://cyberberry.vercel.app).
Right now, it covers the basics, but I want to build out a feature set that the community actually wants to use.
I’d love to hear from you: What are your absolute must-have features for a BlackBerry Reddit client?
Let me know what you'd like to see in the upcoming updates!
