Has anyone gotten a good deal on an extended warranty at a different dealerships then where you bought your vw. Looking at getting a 26 Tiguan with a 10 year warranty, but wanted to shop around for the warranty. To save a few dollars. thank you for your help.

Hi everyone,
It looks like the battery has given up this morning.
Currently, it has (or rather, had) an L2-size 12V 60Ah unit with a 480A cold-cranking current.
Would an L3-size battery - say one with 70Ah+ and 680–760A cold-cranking current—fit in there?
Or should I stick with an L2-size battery with similar specs?
The car is a 2014 scirocco cfgc engine code, no start stop.

I’ve seen a very nicely spec’d Golf SE TSI 1.4 2009 (includes sensors, park assist) on autotrader for £4,500. It’s quite expensive but the MOT history is very clean, previous owner clearly cared for it. I still need to look in person and check service history but at 58,000 miles am I going to have to replace the timing chain soonish if it’s not already been done?

Does anyone know where I can order a VW badge for my steering wheel? Or if I can even replace just the badge?

My car just did an update about two weeks ago and since the update people are unable to hear me. I can hear them when they call but they can't hear me. Even the "voice command" option can't hear me. I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the Bluetooth. I have tried hitting the volume button for ten seconds to restart. I have gone through all my phone settings. Anyone else have the same issue/ can share some ideas for things to try? I've done all the things Google has recommended
It's so annoying bc I do almost all my meetings while in transit.

Need some advice from the gearheads here. I drive a 2017 VW Up! 1.0 TSI with roughly 195,000 km on the clock.
Recently, I started getting a pulsing/whirring noise when the car is in neutral and I release the clutch pedal. Press the clutch down, and the noise goes away.
I took it to a mechanic, and they recommended changing the clutch kit first. Okay, cool, clutch kit got replaced with a brand new one. But guess what? The exact same noise is still there when I release the clutch in neutral.
The shop gave the car back, and now I’m facing the reality, my mechanic told me that the sound makes gearbox internals (specifically the input shaft bearing).
Here is my dilemma and I want to hear your thoughts:
1. Option A: Rebuild the existing gearbox (replace the input shaft bearings and seals).
2. Option B: Buy a used gearbox from a junkyard and swap it.
Given that labor costs here in Denmark are through the roof, what’s the smarter financial move? Is it even worth throwing more money at this car, or should I just trade it in/sell it before something else goes boom?
Appreciate any advice!

Hey y'all, I ran a diagnostic on my car and found that cylinders 2 and 3 were occasionally misfiring. No problem, bought new plugs and coils, replaced all 4 cylinders, then went to turn on the car. To my shock, the engine was misfiring continuously. Roughly 2-3 seconds between misfires. Turned off the car and checked the coils, connections, and plugs. All was fine except 2 of the plugs had fresh oil on the threads (pic for reference). So I'm stumped, maybe my valve cover gasket needs replaced, but I can't imagine that it's having that dramatic of an effect on performance, especially when it was running mostly fine before. The other potential cause might be the plugs themselves, I did cheap out and bought the AutoLite plugs. But again, could they really be failing this badly? What do y'all think. Lmk

Diagnosing an issue I am having.
Items replaced so far..
-Diverter valve (kayser 710n)
-All pcv hoses & valve
- Air filter
• Cleaned MAF (idling and running smooth
• n75 ohms check out
Performed both a pressure/smoke test through the turbo inlet pipe as well as a smoke test through the intake manifold. Checks out after replacing pcv hoses. Wastegate moves and seems to operate fine by hand.
Car is in limp mode. Will build and sustain boost to 7psi
Any suggestions?
Plan on doing fuel filter tomorrow
Car has stage 2 malone tuning

My VW Atlas/Teramont 2024 Rline shipped with Pirelli PZero 265/45 R21. I have replaced the same tyre after 33K miles with about 4/32 thread remaining. Would have driven another 10K but the tire became too noisy.
With the Factory Negative Camber and Toe the tyre on a long term develops heel toe wear is, so i am planning to alternate between Front to Back and X Pattern rotation (every 3700 miles / 6000km) to delay how soon we get the noise.
Now that i have already replaced the PZero PZ4 with the same tire i am thinking of switching to something else on my next change.
All season tyres are not needed in the middleeast.
The ones that came to my search are below;
- Michelin Pilot Sport 4 (Ultra High Performance Tire like PZero)
- Yokohama GEOLANDAR X-CV G057 (Touring)
Please can you suggest if going with touring is good idea for the Rline or i should stay with UHP.
In either case any guidance on the above mentioned tyres
Or Should i stay with PZero

Hows it going, I find myself in a weird position where I need a car now, might need to resell it 2-3 years from now, and have (what I thought was modest) budget of $12k maximum. Holy cow the current car market is crazy.
Anyways, I'm heavily considering a 13 golf with the 2.5L I5 engine, and 70k mikes. It's probably my number 1. Carfax shows a minor rear ending and frequent maintenance.
I'm also considering a 14 tiguan with 54k miles with the 2.0LT engine. Carfax is generally good, though maintenance entries aren't as much as you'd want to see.
Can I rely on either car to go 42k miles over the next 3 years and not need any major parts replaced? I'm mostly a highway driver and am ok with regular preventative maintenance.
Thanks for any input.

I have a 2014 Jetta SE. I am trying to install a remote start module on it. I purchased an omega OL-RS-VWA because when I initially did my research on what to buy this seemed like the best option. It didn’t require any wire splicing and I could use the original keys. I purchased the module believing it came with the wire harness. It did not. How do I know which T harness to purchase? What I really want to know is, am I on the right track or is there a better option.

I recently got a Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen 2017 TSI 4motion Comfortline. I really like the car but im just wondering if other people have also experienced it having pretty poor fuel economy. I live in the Greater Vancouver area so its fairly hilly and some city traffic but I only get around 400-450km a tank, sometimes a little more. Is this expected?

What are the best vin decoders online? I can easily access vin numbers but I want more details about the car than just let's say VW Passat or Golf or Audi types. I'd like to know subtypes and such. I see a lot of VAG cars so would be great to have one to know.

2019 jetta SEL driving great. Only the yellow engine light due to an emissions code stays on—something about the gas cap(?). I get the code cleared and first time I gas up, opening the cap, it comes back. Was told by the mechanic that it was emissions but in my state there are no inspections. I’m not worried. Should I be? I don’t want to pay ton of $$ for a “smoke test” of the entire emissions line. Thoughts?
