Golf Sportwagen 2017 TSI 4motion poor fuel economy?

I recently got a Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen 2017 TSI 4motion Comfortline. I really like the car but im just wondering if other people have also experienced it having pretty poor fuel economy. I live in the Greater Vancouver area so its fairly hilly and some city traffic but I only get around 400-450km a tank, sometimes a little more. Is this expected?

Vw polo 9n3 Lowering

I’m looking at lowering my polo, Probably the final mod i’ll do because I want to keep its original look while making it a bit different. I’m looking at getting a fitting 35mm lowering springs and i’m just wondering if anyone else has the same or similar setup on their polo 9n3 because I can’t decide if it’s going to be too low as it’s still my daily.

Does anyone know where I can order a VW badge for my steering wheel? Or if I can even replace just the badge?

2022 Tiguan at dealership since June after software update

Post image

Hi! Has anyone dealt with something similar, and how did you get it resolved?

I have a 2022 VW Tiguan SEL R-Line that I bought new. It only has 38K miles, is in great shape, and I love it.

Earlier this year, VW did that over the air software update.

Immediately after it was done the sound system made no noise, and I can’t adjust the volume. My phone connects for about a second, then immediately disconnects. The backup camera screen is black when I put it in reverse. Lane Assist turns on and off rapidly.

I took it to the dealership I bought it from in late June, and they’ve had it ever since. I’ve had a loaner the entire time, which I appreciate, but I’d much rather have my own car back.

When I checked in two weeks ago, they said they had a TAC open with VW to try to figure it out, but I still am at a loss for how long this should go on.

Has anyone had these issues after an update or had VW keep their car this long? Is there a way to escalate this with VW, and what options would I even have at this point?

Constant misfires on my 2011 VW CC 2.0L turbo

Post image

Hey y'all, I ran a diagnostic on my car and found that cylinders 2 and 3 were occasionally misfiring. No problem, bought new plugs and coils, replaced all 4 cylinders, then went to turn on the car. To my shock, the engine was misfiring continuously. Roughly 2-3 seconds between misfires. Turned off the car and checked the coils, connections, and plugs. All was fine except 2 of the plugs had fresh oil on the threads (pic for reference). So I'm stumped, maybe my valve cover gasket needs replaced, but I can't imagine that it's having that dramatic of an effect on performance, especially when it was running mostly fine before. The other potential cause might be the plugs themselves, I did cheap out and bought the AutoLite plugs. But again, could they really be failing this badly? What do y'all think. Lmk

VW Altas / Teramont R21 Summer Tire Alternatives

My VW Atlas/Teramont 2024 Rline shipped with Pirelli PZero 265/45 R21. I have replaced the same tyre after 33K miles with about 4/32 thread remaining. Would have driven another 10K but the tire became too noisy.

With the Factory Negative Camber and Toe the tyre on a long term develops heel toe wear is, so i am planning to alternate between Front to Back and X Pattern rotation (every 3700 miles / 6000km) to delay how soon we get the noise.

Now that i have already replaced the PZero PZ4 with the same tire i am thinking of switching to something else on my next change.

All season tyres are not needed in the middleeast.

The ones that came to my search are below;

- Michelin Pilot Sport 4 (Ultra High Performance Tire like PZero)
- Yokohama GEOLANDAR X-CV G057 (Touring)

Please can you suggest if going with touring is good idea for the Rline or i should stay with UHP.
In either case any guidance on the above mentioned tyres

Or Should i stay with PZero

Remote Start - subscription only?

My wife and I are considering either a Tiguan, RAV4 or CR-V but are confused about the remote start that comes with it.

All three offer remote start via an app and through the fob but Toyota have told me that once the DCM - data communication module - is switched off when the longest trial comes to end - currently 5 years - then the fob won’t work either. I can appreciate that the app is subscription only but it seems unfair that the fob should stop working as well seeing as I paid for it as part of the final price.

Is that the same for VW or will the fob work for as long as I own the vehicle, in our case around 10 to 15 years?

MIB2 - ERROR : Software Update

Hello everyone

Recently I've tried updating my MIB2 High to : MHI2_ER_VWG11_K3342 MU 1427the update was a success so I've decided to also update my nav maps (old db was 2016). I've downloaded 2026/2027 from mib-helper. Once I pressed the update it was pretty much instant and the old maps were still there, but the update was ok. I thought I should try it again and sadly it was stuck at 0% for over 30 minutes so I went ahead and cancelled it. Now, every time it boots, after around 1 to 5 minutes randomly I get a pop-up with "ERROR : Software Update" and with a details button that simply says: Error: No data available. Please insert a source with software update data or check this source.

What I assume happened here is that it tried updating from SD Card instead (I had the nav update on usb, firmware update on sd card) even though I 100% pressed USB and I am 99% sure that there's simply a pending update that did not even start. Everything works completely fine, including nav maps

Now sadly enough I know there is a way to clean this issue with MIB ToolBox Helper from github but I had toolbox installed before the firmware update and once I've updated to the latest version it's no longer there. I've tried putting toolbox again on a SD card but to no avail. Every time I go into service menu -> update and select SD Card I get an error Unable to open the file release information. <Wrong phase/state> which I can't seem to get rid of.

If anyone knows how I can either remove this annoying pending update or at the very least manage to install mib toolbox I would be very grateful :)

Thanks for taking the time to read through the long post!
