Help! Do you know this towing company?
On Monday morning at 1:30am a tow truck stole my car and returned it at the end of my street at 2:16am.
I have video of the truck pulling up to my car and also of the truck dropping it off.
The truck is an orange international flatbed and I need help identifying the company.
Update: Just called city towing now that I know when it was picked up, they're looking into it. Hopefully it was them, I feel like it will be easier to get reimbursed.
UPDATE TWO: SOLVED!!!
THANKS EVERYONE. After getting ahold of the city tow lot they in fact did tow it accidentally. They were supposed to tow a white accord but picked up my Civic instead. I'm going to go fill out forms tomorrow morning.

Two Ultra Club tickets to the game of the year for STL CITY SC tonight
Edit: Tickets have been given away. Thanks for all the hilarious jokes. Vamos vamos vamos St. Louis!
STL is on a ripper and I find myself on the other side of the planet for the biggest game of the year. I have two seats in the Ultra Club that I can’t use. The great people of St. Louis deserve a chance for a fun night out on the house, so I’m giving them away. The only problem is it is 8pm here and I’ll be asleep by 10pm. So I’m picking a winner at 9:30pm my time, 8:30am STL time.
Simple rules: You must already have a SeatGeek account. You must be available to respond to a DM right at 8:30am to give me your SeatGeek email. I will wait 5 minutes before picking the next winner.
To enter: In the spirit of Halloween, post your best dad joke.
Good luck!
Just watched a cop sit at Chippewa and Hampton and watch a car blow through a red light going west.
Pisses me the fuck off.

Someone please take any or all of these wooden pallets
Use them as pallets. Use them as firewood. Use them for art. Use them for literally anything. They’re yours. They’re free. They’re located in Ellisville. Let me know if you want some and I’ll send the location! I’m drowning in pallets!

Staycation in St. Louis
Heya r/stlouis, like a lot of people my girlfriend and I don’t really have the money to go on an actual vacation this year, but still have a week of PTO from work that we either have to use, or lose it.
We had the same issue last year and she came up with the idea of trying be tourists in our own city. And while even though we’ve lived here most of our lives, there were still things that we hadn’t done yet.
Of course we’ve done the usual touristy things like visiting the Arch, the city museum, Anheuser-Busch, etc.
But last year we got lunch at Blues City Deli, caught an Omnimax movie at the Science Center, saw live music at McGurk’s, and finally got around to seeing what was inside Das Bevo.
We’re struggling this year to come up with new things to do, so I thought I’d reach out to the other locals.
If you wouldn’t mind sharing, what are your favorite things to do around the city that aren‘t obvious touristy things?
It doesn‘t even have to be an experiential thing, I’d be just as excited to try a great new restaurant that I’ve never heard of.
EDIT: Holy smokes I posted this and thought, “maybe we’ll get a reply or two”. I had no idea so many of you would give suggestions. We’re completely overwhelmed in the best way.
Honestly, we probably have enough here for next year too!

Anyone know who is responsible for these damn signs?
I see these everywhere and a lot of them are 10+ feet up on utility poles. I did a bit of research and looks like it's a nationwide thing, with local agents all over the place.
I covered their contact info to avoid giving them any free publicity, but I would love to name and shame whoever is responsible for littering our city with these.
Might have to make a day out of going around and cleaning up bandit signs!

Ask STL Wonder what's going on at the art museum tonight?
Coworkers and I were about to leave work, when 7 fire trucks, the fire chief, 2 ambulances and a couple of cop cars blew past us and zipped up to art hill. Happened about an hr ago and havent seen anything posted yet. Kinda wild to see such a late night response

Things to Do St. Louis neighborhood map (unofficial)
I've been working on building out a St. Louis neighborhood map that expands upon the 79 official neighborhoods. Official boundaries (of any city) don't always capture the whole picture of how people think about and interact with the city, so I've been documenting all I've discovered on this map, along with points of interest like book stores, game stores, markets, restaurants, etc.
A few examples of fuzzy neighborhood definitions:
- Dogtown is not an official neighborhood, but everyone refers to the combined area of Cheltenham, Clayton-Tamm, Franz Park, and Hi-Pointe as "Dogtown", so I made it one unit on the map.
- Downtown and Downtown West are officially two separate units, but generally from what I've noticed, if someone says they're going to Energizer Park, City Museum, or Union Station/the aquarium they say they're going Downtown, so I combined them into one "Downtown" unit on the map.
- Dutchtown is one neighborhood, but on the Dutchtown website they refer to Dutchtown, Mount Pleasant, Marine Villa, and Gravois Park all together as "Greater Dutchtown", so that's how I combined it on the map.
- Midtown is one neighborhood, but most of the arts district of that area is in the Covenant Blu-Grand Center neighborhood. People usually just say Midtown so I combined them. The Cortex is actually not part of Midtown (it's in Central West End) although I've often seen it referred to as being in Midtown, so I included the Cortex on the Midtown page.
- Carondelet and Patch are combined on my map, as I think both neighborhoods are closely linked.
- The Grove is only a stretch of Manchester, not a whole neighborhood, but I've noticed people are more likely to use The Grove to refer to the whole area as opposed to Forest Park Southeast.
- Delmar Loop likewise is a stretch of Delmar that goes across city lines from Skinker-DeBaliviere to University City, but often that whole general area is referred to as the Loop.
These were most of the ones I've noticed. The Hill and Southwest Garden also have some overlap, and St. Louis Hills/Southampton/Princeton Heights as well all three sharing the Hampton retail corridor.
As a note, I'm not trying to erase the identities of any of these individual neighborhoods, just making a colloquial map of the city and linking areas together that are culturally similar and trying to place points of interest together in related groupings. This map is opinionated, whereas the official map has fixed, defined, administrative boundaries, so there's bound to be some disagreements with what I came up with here.
Anyway, I've had fun learning about all the neighborhoods and exploring as much as I can, I'll be continuing to document spots I find, fix mistakes I've made, and take pictures and fill out the site more. Hope you find the project interesting or useful!

Traffic/Road Conditions Update: My car survived the rolling tar sprinkler on 40
My car is finally tar-free! Huge shout-out to my cousin’s shop, West County Auto Body, for getting that mess off and making it look new again.
I was just trying to get to work and somehow ended up with a complimentary driveway treatment. Thankfully, the tar shower saga is officially over.

Politics City Voters: Let's Discuss Proposition B
This November, city voters will decide on Proposition B, which reads as follows:
"Shall the City of St. Louis, by Charter amendment, impose a citywide sales tax of one-half of one percent on all retail sales in the City of St. Louis for the purpose of establishing an Early Childhood Education Fund to support programs and services relating to the quality, affordability, and access to early childhood education for children aged 5 (five) years and younger, with revenues administered by a newly-established St. Louis Early Childhood Education Board of Trustees pursuant to a contract with the City of St. Louis?"
There's been a little bit of press coverage of Proposition B (the most thorough article is probably the one in STL Mag) but not a ton of public discussion that I've seen thus far.
From the little bit of discussion I've seen, support/opposition for Prop B isn't necessarily breaking down along traditional political boundaries. For instance, the STL City Labor Legislative Committee has endorsed a "no" vote: https://bsky.app/profile/swhikt.bsky.social/post/3mxrdxhjqxs2r. Some of the concern seems to be based on using sales tax as the fundraising mechanism, based on the known regressive nature of sales taxes. I've also seen some concern about the details behind "revenues administered by a newly-established St. Louis Early Childhood Education Board of Trustees" and just what that will entail and who will be on it (i.e., could it become a slush fund). For supporters, these concerns do not outweigh the pretty glaring need for more childcare options in our city that people can actually afford.
Personally, I haven't made up my mind on this one yet, but since I haven't seen much general discussion, I thought I'd make this thread. City voters, what do you think about Prop B? For? Against? Undecided?
