We just announced the new Nikon Z5IIC, everyday-carry mirrorless camera designed to make the move to full-frame photography more accessible. Built on the proven performance of the award-winning Z5II, the new Z5IIC combines a more compact, flat-top design with intuitive features like Scene Modes, helping those beginning their photography journey achieve great results. The “C” stands for casual- The Z5IIC is designed around a screen-first shooting experience that helps users remain immersed in the moment, with intuitive controls and automated features for those ready to learn/.
Main features include:
-Fast, precise subject detection AF built on deep-learning technology make it easy to capture sharp photos and video of fast-moving children, pets, sports and everyday moments. Also, new "fish" mode subject recognition.
- The Z5IIC pairs a 24.5-megapixel full-frame backside-illuminated CMOS sensor with Nikon’s EXPEED 7 image-processing engine – the same technology platform used in Nikon’s flagship cameras. Together with NIKKOR Z lenses, it captures rich color, smooth sunset gradations, natural background blur and cleaner detail in dimly lit scenes. For first-time full-frame users, that means visibly superior photos and videos with less noise and blur, even when the light is challenging.
-Scene Modes: 15 scene modes help you to get great results without first mastering complex settings.
-Picture Control Button: Quickly preview and apply built-in Picture Controls and favorites downloaded from Nikon Imaging Cloud’s growing library of Imaging Recipes.
-Film Grain: Capture photos and video with a nostalgic film look.
-Vari-Angle 3.2" touchscreen allows for Easy shooting from a variety of positions, including overhead and selfie.
-7.5 stops VR (IBIS)
-Pre-Release Capture
-4K/60p video and stereo sound and 12-bit internal RAW for pro-quality video.
-The Z5IIC is available in two colors; silver and black, allowing users to choose the one that best suits their preferences. The model is constructed of durable magnesium alloy for a premium, metallic feel.
The new Nikon Z5IIC will be available in mid-October 2026 for a suggested retail price of $1399.95 for the body only, or $1699.95 packaged with the NIKKOR Z 24-50mm f/4-6.3 lens.

All photos were taken on a Z50II, the first two were with the kit 50-250 F/4.5-6.3, The ladder five a new to me Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 Sony E adapted to Z (heresy I know but it was cheaper than native z)
TL/DR: I feel like my photos arent "good" and want honest critiques on any improvement I could make
In all honesty this post is more a seeking of critiques, while I know these photos are traditionally good, I don't know if i can trust the opinions of those i know ot be honest/not yes manning. Anyways... I've been trying to experiment with a lot of flower photography given fall is coming last month was the perfect time. The experiment in this case was a more artsy approach to photography, while I love my new lens and its amazing. I feel like my photos arent, good. Not a traditional good like "ooh thats a nice photo" vs a "wow thats amazing" photo.
I just feel like they're just a photo anyone could take and not very unique. So posting and recieving critiques seemed like a valuable way to improve.
(Also if you are confused with the 6th photo, it is an old fence with lichen and something else growing on it with a split in it, its my favorite out of the bunch simply for how it makes you wonder what it is and the cool ravine effect with the crack and depth of field.)
anyways, hope you liked the photos and the word spam XD.

A little Nikon family reunion today!
On the left is my D50, my very first camera. Sadly, it no longer works, but I couldn’t bring myself to get rid of it.
Then there’s my Z5, which served me well for two years until the screen stopped working.
And now the newest member of the family, the Z6 III! Looking forward to seeing what we can do together.
Anyone else still keeping their very first DSLR?

Very keen to get this in. I think I’m either gonna absolutely love it or try to sell it immediately. Anybody else got one coming?

Wanted to post these here bc I’ve found the analog subs are pretty harsh critics and this is less about me trying to brag on my photos than it is about discussing how utterly impressive the F4S feels even today.
Admittedly I know these aren’t the most interesting shots, but this concert was truthfully the first event I’d ever covered seriously on film or ever used my F4S at, and I’m honestly shocked by how absurdly well it performed.
I covered the concert predominantly on digital and then used the F4S during setup / intermissions / lulls in the action; I had the 50 1.4 Ai-S and I shot on HP5+ pushed to 3200 in aperture priority and genuinely like 90% of the roll turned out phenomenal. There were a fair number of similar shots which is my fault for having the bad carryover habit of burst shooting on digital, but the camera found focus shockingly easily given the lighting situation, and it also metered incredibly well IMO. I knew the F4S was a well regarded SLR in Nikon’s lineup, I guess I just didn’t expect it to be exactly as capable as it is. I’m a decent photographer, but a novice on film, and to get results like this on the first roll is genuinely a testament to this beast of a camera.
Picked up the 17-35 F/2.8D ED-IF today, and I’m excited to put a ton more rolls through this thing!

Google says the Z 1.4 TC is compatible with nine different Nikon Z lenses. Is it fully compatible with any third party lenses?

Quick question for those of you who put skins or wraps on your cameras. Why do you use them? Is it mainly for looks and personalisation, or do they actually serve a practical purpose, like protecting the camera from scratches?
If I already have a cage on my camera, is there really a need for one?
Also, for those who use them, do they trap heat? I do a lot of video recording, so that’s something I’m a bit concerned about.
I’m using the Nikon Z8. Would you recommend getting a skin for it, and if so, which one? Just trying to figure out if it’s actually worth it or if it’s more of a cosmetic thing. Would love to hear your experiences!
Thanks in advance.

Sorry might be a stupid question, but I haven't seen it anywhere else. I have been putting together a film scanning setup on a bit of a budget consisting of a D800, a Micro-Nikkor 55/2.8 and a PK-13 eventually, but I haven't been able to find one locally, so I got a 3D-printed version, but that one of course doesn't have an aperture lever nor an AI tab, so I'm kind of stuck for now. My question is, does the D800 meter properly through a lens that is stopped down by default without the camera stopping it down or having any effect on the aperture?
