I’ll vote for this fucking guy

u/Unable-Log-4870 10h ago
Don’t. He’s running unaffiliated. That means he’s there likely to draw votes away from the Democrat candidate, making it more likely for the republican to win.

u/RedBushDiver 10h ago
Sonsabitches. It’s all just a big fucking joke.
59
u/Unable-Log-4870 10h ago
Well, our voting system is made to be exploited, so that people have a harder time expressing their intent effectively.
24
u/ArgusTheCat 9h ago
This is why the best vote is to vote for anyone who seriously supports ranked choice voting.
15
u/Unable-Log-4870 8h ago
In the primaries, yes. In the general election, you should just vote for whoever has the best chance to defeat the Republican. That means NOT voting 3rd party in the general election.
Getting a voting system that allows voters to express their desires without having to resort to strategy (something that Ranked Choice Voting can do, but doesn’t necessarily always do) is a really good goal to have.

u/defaulticus 9h ago
Eh, its a solid republican district in Florida anyway. In a strong enough wave (which we might be having) it might be in play for a democrat, but he couldn't have known that when he filed to run.
Running independents seems to be working in Nebraska, possibly Idaho and South Dakota, and the democratic party is trying to get its own candidate to drop out in Montana because the independent can probably win there this year but she can't. So, running an indie in this election was probably a solid idea in the spring.

Seems like Davis' only policy is investigating Elon Musk's crimes. Has the Democratic candidate considered stealing the idea and run on Mark Davis' platform?
3
u/gingerfawx 8h ago
Also appears to have two brain cells to rub together (see post), which is more than most of the candidates have on display. We could do with more of that.
1
u/samenumberwhodis 8h ago
No no, that would require doing what your constituents want and not what your donors want
8
u/Fun-Grab-9337 8h ago
One day yall will realize uttering a statement like this means our democracy is already long dead.
7
u/Unable-Log-4870 8h ago
This has been a flaw in our system front the beginning. If that means our democracy is dead, I think that implies it was never alive.
3
u/Fun-Grab-9337 8h ago
Yea, some might argue we never really did have a real one.
6
u/Unable-Log-4870 7h ago
I think we were making pretty good progress up until the 1960s, when a lot of people decided that democracy was okay, but not if black people got it too.

u/BigsChungi 12h ago
Technically Hillary did break protocol and it could be considered a crime. Whether it actually rose to a criminal level is debatable.
However I think Trump and the Clinton's are both immoral people.
14
u/captorofsin79 11h ago
Hillary didn't rape kids with Jeffrey
-16
u/BigsChungi 11h ago
Rape isnt the only immoral act out there.
Hillary was a warhawk that took bribes. She is part of the evil side of the invisible hand.
Trump is evil too, but you have to be able to recognize both.

One car has a squeaky brake.
The other car has hit a tree at 100mph, the driver flew a good 30 feet before landing, the engine is now located in the back seat footwell and the whole thing is on fire.
You - "But that squeak tho".

Fyi: at the time of that email thing there was 33 other members of Congress that was doing the same. Funny how we don't have anyone going after them. Another fyi: members of Congress do that email thing still even now
10
u/JessieColt 11h ago
Republican Colin Powell, the Sec of State for Republican Bush Jr., told her that he used private emails to communicate with others while he was Sec of State.
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/hillary-clinton-colin-powell-advice-for-private-email-server/
But you certainly didn't hear any R's demanding the government find those communications from Powell so that they could be audited/reviewed.
4
u/CheryllLucy 10h ago
are you talking about the email server that trumps people set up the exact same way when he got into office?

Secret Elon Musk account found?

u/ealysillyforestthing 11h ago
When that Russian bot farm got hit a huge amount of Twitter accounts suddenly got quiet
11
u/Stormtomcat 11h ago
Did it really? I've seen many anecdotes, and one screenshot of a graph, but no real source.
I hope it's true, and it can be a start of ending the trolling and scamming and propaganda

u/ness_monster 11h ago
I have been skeptical as well. Lots of stories, little data to back it up.

Lots of stories, little data to back it up.
this sentence pretty much sums up all american social and political hysteria of the last 10 years on both sides. always headlines that dont represent the articles or articles that dont have a real source

I've seen mods post visitor counts before and after. It was a sharp drop off

u/Good-Cake-446 10h ago
Yup, i dont know why bots would need a datacenter, there are many videos online of people just using hundreds of old phones to do their botting.
2
u/HunterSThompson64 8h ago
According to this BBC article which questioned a investigative firm that tracks Russian state backed actors accounts, there was no noticeable change.
Researchers from dTeam, a US-based group that tracks Moscow-linked influence operations, told BBC Verify there has not been "any traffic change from known Russian accounts and bot clusters on any platform".
A lot of people are pointing towards Cloudflare's graph showing Yandex-related bots declining sharply, but Cloudflare notes it was related to all Yandex traffic, meaning their web crawler bots, the same as Google's.

u/Stormtomcat 2h ago
Thank you for the source.
I guess it's positive that the destruction isn't tied to propaganda. Let's not incentivize the idea that you can silence your opponent by blowing up infrastructure.

Isnt he the one who went to a trump rally and went down the line of trump supporters and called them all pedophile supporters?
17
u/schroedizzle 9h ago
I believe he also got thrown out of a De Santis speech for yelling at him that he was a pedophile protector.

u/Maelefique 12h ago
Also, if you're the last person on Earth, but you still feel the need to compete in an election to make sure you're the best choice... just how bored are you??! 😅

u/SuperFLEB 11h ago
As we zoom out on a man in the throes of madness, shouting at no one, shouting at himself, stumbling up the street clutching a box of blue hair dye, broken in two by the realization that there aren't any Libs left to own any more, that if he's going to own the Libs, he'll have to become one.

There's a right wing boot locker journalist where I live named Mark Davis. Every time I see something from this Mark Davis, I get confused for a split second.

u/webbslinger_0 12h ago
I have no idea of his platform or ideas but here’s my vote Mark Davis
2
u/FlashOfTheBlade77 10h ago
The fact that you see this as a good thing is just sad. Voting blind for people because of their words as opposed to actions is what got us to where we are today.

I'll vote for anyone that holds pedophiles accountable vs those that won't.

I don't believe anyone running for Congress will be in a position to jail Elmo. That darn separation of powers thing, ya know.
6
u/nikstick22 11h ago
Once the republican swamp is drained, they could come after him for his campaign contributions, I bet. A lot of stuff that happened in the 2024 election was suspect.
3
u/Yeseylon 7h ago
Swamp's never getting drained at this point. Whole party needs to collapse and a new party needs to rise up.

There's always the Trading with the Enemy Act.
5
u/EuenovAyabayya 11h ago
I think there are probably several ways to jail him, but another branch will have to do it. Two, really, unless the current admin goes even further down the rabbit hole, which seems entirely plausible.
2
u/Patanned 10h ago
not only plausible, it's the natc's (my preferred name for christian nationalists like russell vought and his like-minded ilk) go-to action plan - which they've made no secret of.

u/kryonik 11h ago
They can begin investigations into illegal activities, afaik.
2
u/EuenovAyabayya 10h ago
They can, and while legislative investigations can be useful at casting light into dark places, they also have potential to forestall proper prosecutions by "tainting public perception." If you really want people locked up, the next administration will have to lead the charge.
2
u/SuperFLEB 11h ago
Not directly, but theoretically they could start chucking out executives with impeachments until someone on that side did.
And somewhere between "practically" and "theoretically", there are methods of pressure.
2
u/EuenovAyabayya 11h ago
Fact remains that he made the statement knowing he couldn't really be held accountable for it.
3
u/suprahelix 10h ago
The tweet was worded specifically to be vague. He could certainly do everything in his power to see that Musk was prosecuted. Namely launching investigations and using congressional authority to obtain information that could be passed to US Attorneys. Or by passing laws that Musk could run afoul of.
2
u/dmoney83 8h ago
Well if they can go after a US citizen like Rep Ilhan Omar from when she was a child and before a citizen... Then surely they can go after Elmo.
3
u/Jeremiad-Kain 11h ago
Mark Davis is such a generic name it's hard to even narrow down which one he is. The Florida one? I dunno, but I like the energy he's bringing to the table. I'd vote for him if I could.

I can absolutely see the wimp crying that he was threatened by leftist violence by 'you wouldn't be around'.
